Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! I couldn't think of a good not-a-RP-character name on the spot for registration, I didn't know it was a well-known character name.
It seems from the original posts like several welcoming people would log into Kusari if there were more people to play with (look for Ayane Hayashi, she might even venture in Lyonnais), and all the silent miners and traders I've run into in the crowded systems will be just as silent from Kusari. I plan to put a fighter in all the houses, so I look forward to interacting with everyone!
Quick question about faction tags for characters not in an official faction (like a RM- next to a character name of an independent Rheinland Military character.) From what I remember about unofficial faction tags on other servers, there were two cultures. Which one does this community have?
1) Don't use them, because it clutters the comms display and confuses players about who is part of an official server faction. Also, because reason #2 is meta-gaming.
2) Use them, because it makes it easier to tell somebody's IFF from a distance before you spend time flying to them for a RP. It's meta-gaming, but no more than /givecash.

It would be 2) here. No meta-gaming at all. So yeah, feel free to use the many indie tags we have. (For capital ships you should go with the fitting pre-tags anyways, there's a list of them somewhere, can't find it right now though. Just as a hint )
My honest tip for you is to have at least a Bretonian ship or fly around with your kusarian character in Bretonia. Bretonia has, from my experience, the nicest playerbase and more important, the least biased playerbase. I'd roam around there as Freelancer, as the lawfuls would hire you anyway. If that's too one-sided for you, both the Mollys and the Gaians have pretty awesome leaders and could use some active members, or if you want to aim for something bigger, try the Corsairs or make an indie Gallic and join their Leeds/Magellan/New London raids. Those fights are usually less of a catastrophe than the current things in Liberty, with Ranseurs parking infront of Manhattan and what not. It's funny every now and then, but not really roleplay behavior. If you however are interested in nomad stuff, Omicron Delta is the hottest place for that. There is the Core, the Order, Zoners, sometimes Kusari, more often infected Kusari/Gallia/Rheinland and of course nomads. Rheinland is pretty dead, and Kusari is currently trying to revive itself, again, with the 343s. But it is de facto how it was said: Kusari is rarely visited, so it is up to you if you want to play in rarely visited space or there where people are.
In any case, though, making at least a snub per house is a pretty good idea, and if it is only for the exploration. While nobody roams around in Gallia, the systems have much to show. They are literally stuffed with planets and nebulae.
