Background and Further Notes:
Completed in mid-to-late 752 A.S., the Omaha is without a doubt one of the longest serving still active warships in the Liberty Navy, third only to the Mississippi and the Yukon. Most notable for her role in the attempted retrieval of President Barbara Jacobi from the Order in 801 A.S., the Omaha stands in testament as the only active duty warship to survive the gunfire of the O.C.V. Osiris, albeit with marginal damage done at best.
Omaha was the third in her class-line, preceded by her sister ships L.N.S. Georgia and the L.N.S. Helena. Officially launched in early 753 A.S. due to hardware issues that also struck the other two 'Georgia'-class warships, the Omaha's first station to be was the long orbit of Planet Atka in Hudson, seeing the need to defend trade routes from Rheinland to Liberty and vice versa. The Omaha proceeded to hop stations from time to time, stationing itself at one point inside the Zone 21 minefield near the locked Naval gate to the secured system of Alaska, and another at a time just before the violent dark matter storm that ravaged Kepler arrived.
By the late 790s, the Omaha had seen a fair bit of action, all of which however involving stray attacks by pirate raiding parties and the occasional rogue freelancer trying to test his luck. By the turn of the century, and the onset of the Nomad war, the Omaha and her crew stood fast as they watched Sirius fall apart around them. The chain of command became corrupted by influence of the Nomad menace, and all the unknowing crew could do was follow orders. The most famous of her deployments occurred during this time, when she was sent to blockade the gateway to the Zone 21 minefield as LSF Commander Jun'ko Zane, Edison Trent, Michael King and numerous other Order pilots fled from the Alaska gate with Jacobi in hand. Her CO, Rear Admiral Ryan Tannhauser, relayed them one warning to return Jacobi, but this warning was short lived as the O.C.V. Osiris soon decloaked above her port side array, landing shot after shot. Trent and company escaped aboard, and the warship subsequently cloaked again, forcing the damaged Omaha to return to port, her mission a failure.
The Omaha sat in dry dock for the few months it took for the war to finally end. By the time she was returned to active duty, her CO had retired, and was soon succeeded by a budding Navy Captain named Oscar White. White commanded the ship throughout the first decade of the new century, but a surprise attack on her position while she was defending a Gateway supply depot in Manchester ended his career, killing him and half his bridge crew in the process. The Omaha and her escort fended off the remaining assailants, but was soon after towed to Southampton Shipyard, where she was authorized for a refit and rearmament.
Her hull was patched and her hull subsequently upgraded, resulting in a thicker and more dense weave to repel enemy fire. She was also fitted with new 'Hotchkiss' and 'Pounder' type warship guns courtesy of BMM to replace her aging and damaged Libertonian armament. Once finished, the Omaha returned to New York, where more refits ensued, including the rather ironic installation of a D-EM6c "Camouflage" type cloaking device.
Without a CO to command the vessel, the ship was transferred to the Liberty Navy Third Fleet, where she was placed under command of Admiral David Anderson, and subsequently his subordinate Captain Allen Bradley. Bradley's command of the vessel has remained a rather uneventful one, with certain exceptions, and by the time of the vessel's transfer to the Liberty Navy's Fifth Fleet, the ship's scars seemed to outnumber the personnel aboard. From here on out, the Omaha, her track record already impressive, longs to go out in a bang, and Bradley's reckless attitude may just spell that for her.

Biography............................
"If we're all pawns in this diplomatic chess game, then I'm still the rook come to knock out your king."
Born to a pair of rather wealthy parents, although inheriting none of it, Allen Blane Bradley Jr. is the current commanding officer of the Battleship Omaha. A fairly laid back man at heart, his days as a Recruit Division Commander aboard West Point have tempered his attitude to be more in line to essentially 'be a drill instructor all day every day for the rest of eternity'. While this isn't the case at all, many of the crew on the Omaha, and indeed the Third Fleet where he was transferred from, still hold him in a high regard mostly out of fear of doing 'corrective punishment'.
In reality, once one has piqued the interest of the former trainee instructor, they normally begin to see the brighter side of his attitude, including the more friendly and laid back man who usually gives way to the hardcore driller within.
In his personal life, he was engaged to a Los Angeles native named Olivia Hartford, but due to difficulties in childbirth when delivering their daughter, she passed before their marriage could officially be logged. As a result, he keeps his daughter Lindsay close, even taking time out of his own busy career to raise her like any real father would.
Name: Casey Chase
Date-of-Birth: November 16th, 797 A.S.
Birthplace: North Albany, Planet Manhattan, Liberty Space
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Occupation: Liberty Navy - Captain / Omaha XO / Omaha Marines
Family: Constantine Chase - (Father/Deceased) ; Amy Chase - (Mother); Nicole Bradley - (Fiance); Allen Bradley - (Fiance)
Biography............................
"There's people out there who've done worse than I have. We just have to look around hard enough for them to be apparent. Just look at me, and then look out there.. It'll give you an idea.."
Commander Chase, currently the XO alongside newly promoted Commodore Bradley, and like Lieutenant Commander Tapp, is one of the few transfers from the L.N.S. Montana who made it aboard the Omaha. While her career under Vice Admiral Michelle Collins was uneventful, excluding the ship's defection, her work under Commodore Bradley is significantly more enticing.
The technical counterpart to CPO Williams, Chase is adept in the creation and maintenance of numerous types of software, including comm channels and ship systems. While she maintains the ability to act as a substitute for most officers, she can also act as a sort of coordinative team leader for the Omaha's marine details. If there were one person who could be labeled a critical multitasker, it would be Chase.
Name: Quentin E. Allgood
Date-of-Birth: August 14th, 782 A.S.
Birthplace: Harlem, Lower Albany, Planet Manhattan, Liberty Space
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Occupation: Liberty Navy - Commander / Weapons Officer
Family: Manfred Allgood - (Father) ; Tanisha Allgood - (Mother) Biography............................
"The only thing you should be focused on in a fight is making sure you've got the world-ending haymaker chargin' in the back. That way, when you're down, you can still level the guy's ass and be back in time for corn flakes."
A relatively new addition to the Omaha's crew, Lieutenant Commander Allgood serves as the effective replacement for Commander Hunter after her charge to XO. A gruff, sternly built man, Allgood has seen the numerous sides of conflict, and has done his best to cope with the trauma of it, mainly through the use of 'massive guns and huge friggin' missiles'.
He's very quickly developed a positive reputation amongst the crew, with his no nonsense attitude rivaling Bradley's.
Name: Byron Gaines
Date-of-Birth: June 13th, 801 A.S.
Birthplace: Northchestersonshire, Planet New London, Bretonia Space
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Occupation: Liberty Navy - Commander / Omaha Navigation Officer
Family: Norman Gaines - (Father); Linda Gaines - (Mother/Deceased); Amy Windsor - (Girlfriend)
Biography............................
"It's a real shame we can't all see the light at the end of the tunnel.. I guess too many people are just truly blind."
Byron Gaines, born the son of two Bretonian Police officers, is currently the lead navigation officer aboard the Omaha and one of the main reasons she made it back from her unintentional jump to Gallic space. A rather spiritual man at heart, Gaines finds himself commonly at the unfortunate end of Captain Bradley's drill instructor episodes, but as a result his physical strength is fairly above average for a man of his size.
He maintains a working relationship with his girlfriend Amy Windsor, a Cambridge native taking classes at the Cambridge Institute of Technology on Planet Cambridge. While she works on her Masters in Electrical Engineering, he continuously finds it difficult to find time to spend with her due to their conflicting schedules. Nevertheless, he still remains a fairly active member of the crew, doing his best to help Hale keep Bradley in line.
Name: Susan Williams
Date-of-Birth: January 23rd, 802 A.S.
Birthplace: Santa Domingo, Planet Los Angeles, Liberty Space
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Yellow / Amber
Occupation: Liberty Navy - MCPO / Chief Engineer
Family: Ollie Williams - (Father); Aria Williams - (Sister/Twin)
Biography............................
"Everyone here can fix stuff. 'cap can fix your PT score, Hale your soul, Tapp your social life, Hunter your aim and Gaines your purpose of direction. Me? I can fix the things you'll need to let them fix you."
Without a doubt the most free-spirited of the Omaha's main crew, Petty Officer Williams continues to impress both old and young with her vibrant attitude and rambunctious antics. Susan never knew her mother, and to talk to her about it will only nip one a quick end to their conversation. However, she still maintains a very positive relationship with her father, Ollie, and her younger sister, Aria.
How she keeps such a perky attitude remains a mystery to the crew, but most have attributed it to her fairly unrestricted childhood. Her father, a DSE contractor, occasionally returned from work with many goodies for her to dismantle. According to both her and her sister, she has an adept understanding of most pieces of military hardware available to her, and even some not. How she does it is anyone's guess, but the Omaha only benefits from her technical expertise.
Name: Jasmine Tapp
Date-of-Birth: January 3rd, 799 A.S.
Birthplace: Saroh, Planet Pittsburgh, Liberty Space
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Occupation: Liberty Navy - Commander / Auxiliary Support Officer
Family: Drake Tapp - (Father/Deceased); Martha Tapp - (Mother/Deceased)
Biography............................
"Sweety, in my line of work, there's two types of people: Those who flap their gums and those who talk like civilized people. I'm fluent in both languages."
The former Comm Officer of the L.N.S. Montana shortly before her defection, and eventual return, Lieutenant Tapp was recently transferred from command on the Montana to her communications role aboard the Omaha. Due to her fiercely passive and friendly nature, she's more often than not the hub of all social goings on aboard the ship.
Hispanian by blood, Tapp was born and raised on Pittsburgh. Though her childhood and early adolescence have been pock marked by light tales of drama and unfortunate circumstance, most notably her 'rolling with' the defection of the Montana and Vice Admiral Collins' mental anxiety, she still remains the same steadfast and actively participating officer her fellow crew and friends have come to rely on.
Name: Abigail Genevieve 'Abbie' Foster
Date-of-Birth: April 30th, 796 A.S.
Birthplace: Saroh, Planet Pittsburgh, Liberty Space
Hair Color: Auburn
Eye Color: Brown
Occupation: Liberty Navy - CPO / Communications
Family: Jordan Foster - (Father)
Biography............................
"When or if you decide to come back, I'll be waiting. You want to go play hero, that's fine, but just remember the key's always in the last place you look."
An unusual transfer from the lower decks, Chief Petty Officer Foster is a strange sight on the bridge of the Omaha. Alongside Petty Officer MacNiel, she is one of the only two enlisted personnel assigned to the bridge of the Omaha, in particular the communications position. In the absence of Lieutenant Commander Tapp, she takes up the mantle, and while being surrounded by officers and people that could be her CO four times over, she maintains her cool.
Foster keeps up a positive relationship with just about every member of the crew, and has been the supporter of the Commodore and his wife more times than one would expect. She knows her place, but in the absence of Tapp, she has elected to make up for the charismatic officer's role of mediator and listener.
Name: Allison J. Hunter
Date-of-Birth: October 31st, 799 A.S.
Birthplace: Dover, Planet New London, Bretonia Space
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Amber
Occupation: Liberty Navy - Commander / Auxiliary Support Officer
Family: Nicholas Finch - (Father/Deceased); Laura Finch - (Mother/Deceased); James Hunter - (Adoptive Father/Deceased); Annie Kilkreath - (Friend)
"I mean.. it's better than a half-right hooah, right? Just stick to your guns and you'll be the king of the range... or queen.."
Not much can be said about Commander Hunter, except that she is in no way related to the First Fleet admiral and that her past is evident, if somewhat vaguely, in her view of the world around her. A native resident of the Kingdom of Bretonia, Hunter is currently the auxiliary support officer aboard the Omaha in Chase's place. While she would rather be placed back into her original role of chief weapons officer, by the order of the CO and by her attitude, she was removed from that post and slated to replace Commander Casey Chase in the role of auxiliary support, tending to positions that otherwise would not be filled.
On a personal level, she maintains a rather sterile love life, and her only real relationship outside the Navy revolves around a former Ageira Technologies rep named Annie Kilkreath. While the two maintain a strong friendship, occasionally they drift apart in search of other things to do, which only makes their reunion all the more special.
