As part of the continued process of getting active people and to try and avoid burn out in current "staff" it is that time again.
Please feel free to indicate if you would like to attempt to help sustain the community from the moderation angle.
So your name and a brief idea of what you think you can add and why.
In order to view the community in the best light feel free to comment on other people. That will help the selection, and if it evolves into a non-constructive Disco drama you will miss the end of the thread.
Oh I wanted to be a mod when I joined Disco, Orange is the new black.
Name: Shelco
What could I contribute?: Well, my Disco Forums window is constantly open all day (when I am home) and is automatically being refreshed every two minutes, therefore, having an eye on things is very easy. Apart from this specific thing, activity, in general, if things have to be done, I could do them, very quickly, even. I often see how moderation requests that are done in a few minutes are taking days, it most likely also is not the easiest thing but I'd love to do it and speed this process up. The reason why is pretty simple, I love disco, I love the community and I want to show that I care, sometimes it is simply not enough to be active as a player to keep the server number on one up, but also as someone who can help manage the forums. So, in short: Time, Will, Wish to speed things up.
Comments on other people: I could imagine Tanith (although he is probably too busy being an Unioner), Sombra (because she is very active herself), Reeves (because he is good member and also active), I would suggest Werdi but he wants to be a dev and probably a few more I just forgot.
I would offer myself as mod. I personally am not a fan of writing walls of text advertising oneself like that, because I feel it can't do the purpose any justice. Last time, there were 'interview' sort of things, and they'll probably happen again so I'll reserve anything else for that.
I've been here a while and I know how the rules work (but then again so does like 80% of the community). I admin a Facebook group for my university with about 12,000 members and I delete anything that breaks the rules in five minutes or less if that counts for anything. I have plenty of time on my hands in a timezone when there's really no other mods around (except Wu when he decides to be).
How can i be help? Im active on disco and can check forums regularly. I dont like self advertising like foxglove so if there will be interviews i can answer any question.
I have a few years experience moderating on other multiplayer game forums. I want this community to continue to thrive and I think that can only be done when people work together as a team.
PS sorry about the lack of text, I'm bad at "describe yourself" questions but I can surely answer any further questions anyone might have.
I would be interested in helping out as a Mod as well. I'm online and lurking on the forums just about all day everyday, and I'd be keen to help out around the place, with the various duties of a mod. I feel I've gotten a pretty good grasp of the rules in my (somewhat short still) time here, and I'd like to get more involved in the community.
