Being in the village, closer to the landing pad, would give Ayane the ability to get spaceside much more quickly if need be (or to get to her ship for a quick hit of cardamine). Her training was most likely making her paranoid, and she kept having to remind herself that she wasn't hiding from the Bretonian government. She saw several hotels on her way to John's house, but recalled her very comfortable camper-like accommodations in the front half of her cargo hold. Either way, she'd be fine.
"I agree; I'd love to get to know my way around the village so I won't be lost when I come back next time. I saw a couple interesting shops, and I'm sure you can let us know which bars we should go to."
Ayane walked with John and Aimi back down the drive leading out of the yard and back to the village. A quick gust of cold evening air made her feel glad she had worn her pea coat: Cambridge was chilly.
''Wonderful'' he said removing his BPA jacket and putting the coat on. ''We might even get tea while we're are there.'' he said leading them over to a nearby car. He got in the drivers seat and waited for the pair of them to settle in as well before driving off down the driveway toward the village. The trip was short, with john flying through the country lanes bordered by trees and rivers and farmland. The countryside eventually gave way to the villiage of Maidstone, the first noticable feture of the place was the cathedral that stood in the village square. Various shops and alleyway's ran off from said square, leading away to the more residental areas.
He pulled the car over and stepped outside. ''So girls, welcome to maidstone square'' he said indicating to the now huge cathedral infront of them, the markets hustle and bustle infort of the main doors. ''Have a browse if you like, there is a lovely park just around the corner, when you're ready we can head there. ''
Aimi got out of the car just seconds later than John, she looked around and was surprised. This here was nothing compared to the cities and villages of Honshū or elsewhere in Kusari. It looked almost like it were pictures from a long, long forgotten time before Sirius. - She then gave Ayane a short glimpse and said:
"I guess.. we are more than ready to take a walk there, right, Ayane-san?" She smiled brightly for a moment, then turned back to Steiner, waiting for him to take the lead.
