It's been made a light cruiser somewhat recently. Check out this thread.
Quote:Bretonia Destroyer
-Hull: 330 000 -> 260 000
-Regens: 825 -> 650
-Number of heavy turrets: 3 -> 2
-Powercore: heavy -> light
The "king of kings". By far the most broken cruiser, if not capital ship in the game, the Crecy has dominated fights for years. Being the smallest cruiser in the game while also having a really tricky shape (bigger at the front, very small at the back), not only is it the hardest destroyer to kill but it also hits back like an Irra. It has the hull, regens and core of a heavy cruiser, and I can only express anger that the ship wasn't balanced properly by the (ex) balance devs, given how disgustingly overpowered it is. All of the stats are going massively down as a result and it's becoming a light cruiser with proper light cruiser characteristics.

I know about it update. I do not understand why you can not just reduce the speed of the turn ( even a little ) and slightly loosen the core, and not so that after a couple of shots I could not shoot.
I guess the cruiser was imbalanced enough to warrant a nerf from medium to light power core? I'm not one for heavy capital combat, so I can't weigh in my own opinion. The Crecy doesn't seem all that small to me, especially considering the Liberty Siege Cruiser is a flying boomstick, and the Kusari Destroyer isn't that big either, so that's 3/4 vanilla House Cruisers being on the small/slim side. I always thought the Bretonian Gunboat seemed huge, which made the cruiser the npcs flew in formation with feel small.
But hey, what do I know? I've always been a fighter/bomber pilot.

Typhoon (the black one) is widely regarded as the standard light cruiser. Crecy is not only much shorter but also thinner which makes it very deadly against bigger ships, but in return it's weak vs cruisers and weaker vs bombers than other cruisers. As for your powercore issue, I'll assume you are using a light mortar and/or pulses along with the cerb prims. Light mortar and pulses are situational weapons that you shoot only when there's a reason to, which is why weapon groups exist. Don't shoot all weapons in 1 group.
Oh well, my 2 cents(that no one asked): ppl say Crecy bad, it isnt IF u keep in mind is a light cruiser, use its strong points to your advantadge and protect its weakness.
U have light core and low armor, so literally ull be evading enemy fire to survive, u will rely in pulses to deshield, then turrets+cerb to shot ur enemy down.
No, u cant tank almost no one, but same goes to most light cruisers
Who complain more of Crecy havent flown other light cruisers i guess (and ye, Lib cruiser could have lil change too, like upscaling a lil too? Personally, seems fine to me, i dont use em anymore, nor fear em when facing so, by me keep all cruisers as they are)
just give Thannie BC core and armor, 3 bs slots and we good Huhauhua kidding (but, could ) Kidding (*sigh*)

LSC and Kudessie are noticeably bigger than the Crecy, hence they're medium. The Kudessie is the exact size of a Scylla, which is the standard medium cruiser. LSC is a bit thinner but longer.
