People living their normal lives, mind their own business. It's what you mostly see in Liberty, moving the economy of Liberty around. Which makes it not such a big surprise that they are also prime targets for whoever wants to damage Liberty property or cash in some loot. Pirates hiding in the dark corners of the lane network, waiting for their prey to run into their ambush and rob them clean. But sometimes those that want to rob need a extra hand, them paying others with their looted credits to open a window of gaining more access to enemy convoys while those that are being paid clear the enemy patrols to let those pirates do their job more efficiently.
Once the Reavers were paid to protect these traders and the economies they worked for. But things have changed, prices were low and those who seek for money have moved on, now hunting those they've worked for without remorse shooting down the vessels they've once protected. Money is what leads these people into their dangerous travels but each of these people have their own stories and reasons for why they hunt the way they do. Sometimes it can even be a cover up to hide what they truly are.
Nancy Sweetwater, a simple lady who lived in Bretonia most of her time now became one of those persons that seeks for dangerous trails in this universe. Where she once fought with the Bretonian armed forces she now fights against them for the reasons of money, or at least that is what she says, and want others to believe. But this job offers more than just action and credits to spent. It offers a way of life where you forget what dangers really are, a loose life where nothing seems to matter as long as it makes you and only you feel good.

Back to Liberty, because only those some of those you've shot know who you really are, so where is the real danger? Enough people around that do not know what they are dealing with still. It just being a random escort pilot, a junker or perhaps even a Liberty police officer on duty. Why not invite them over with a few words that are made easy to believe. Have them follow you without them expecting what is about to happen. And then when the time is right, just like a predator you reveal yourself and your true intentions to the prey. Now cornered and unable to put up any form of resistance. Some of them still believing they have their freedom and that they are in charge of this 'game' but you know better, or do you? Just because you do not know danger anymore perhaps?
That officer or that Escort pilot, all you've waited for was that one comment they'd make, one that makes you feel like you are floating into heaven. That comment being like a drug, becoming a addiction when you've had it once you want it again, and again, more and more often. Becoming more careless as time passes as to how you get this, neglecting many thoughts and considerations since all you want is that one thing.
All these credits that you see around you are you 'normal' job just being that cover up you need to hide the addiction. It seems like the perfect job if you look at it from that perspective.
Another day at Bethlehem station, it seems like the perfect place as almost everyone of any kind comes here and no one really cares what they do here, all just minding their own business. Just like Nancy, who once again is being in the mood to play her game with certain people, random people really. Even though she has her own preferences. They shouldn't be too old. Young guys who think they've found the love of their lives are preferred but they are sometimes hard to find as they mostly go out with their love rather than alone. But older guys that are in their early forties, they will do as long as they are married.
Nancy had situated herself on the foot-end of her bed again, pondering a little as she looked through the room which seemed awfully similar to the one she had indirectly rented a few days ago. Having used someone else to use his name for it which had been a good choice considering the police was checking on the room for whatever reason. She had already been asked a few things if she had seen anything but of course she had denied it as she only had arrived today in her story. Apparently there was a bit of a mess involving blood and so on in that room down the hallway.
The questions the police had asked were only brief and it had made her smile when she closed to door again. The rush going through her of them not knowing. She knew she couldn't play this game forever but pushing it to the boundaries was giving that thrill which seemed to becoming a addiction.
With the thoughts and many ideas having gone through her mind as she sat lonely in her room, which had nothing more than a bed, closet and a desk accompanied with a chair, as if it was for someone who needed to settle some business. The bed not even being for two persons. The ideas in her mind however were taking shape, having got her to make a note and taped it to the bathroom door, which was also small and only having the necessities of a bathroom.
The note didn't contain much only the simple words, 'Out of use'. Which it wasn't but if things panned out the way they perhaps should go this would be a easy backup. Another backup she had in her bag, a gun loaded with darts rather than bullets as it wasn't meant to kill their targets but neutralize them in such way they'd fall asleep in seconds and wake up with only blurry images of the things that had happened, although it was easy to remind them of what really happened if you told them.
And now yet another part of the game. A bottle of wine and one of whiskey she had pulled out of her back and placed into the closet but they were lacking glasses, which didn't concern her. She also placed a sound recorder in the closet, it being only a small device which you could compare your thumb with when it comes to size. She hadn't yet switched it on though as it was only able to record several hours. Having wished herself it could record longer but the sensitivity was what she had been after. Wanting every sound to be recorded once it was on.
With everything set in place she set out, leaving her room and headed towards the bars where pilots often took a few drinks after their job to prove they made it out of the hell of space. And were to live another day. Or they simply came there to enjoy a drink with a friend and see who they could find to hook up with, just for fun. It was both these kind of people she was looking for. And after some minutes she entered the first bar, which was rather cold of nature. But it seemed no one minded as the drinks that were served kept them warm enough, when it came to the sensation of alcohol.
She glanced over the people at the bar itself and found herself a empty stool next to two guys who already seemed to more cheery than normal because of the few drinks they had. Her flashing a - on purpose - teasing smile at them. Both reacting different to it as one shook his head and turned away to his, what she assumed was his friend or colleague. The other however winked back with a smirk on his face. Making her decision rather easy and checking their hands if she could see any rings. Which soon made her decision even easier as she noticed the one who turned away had one on his finger.
She ignored both the men next to her, besides keeping a eye on them that they wouldn't yet leave. Drinking a few glasses herself but making sure it wasn't too much that she wouldn't lose her focus. Thinking of the easiest way to get things going. After a while and the few drinks she began to attract their attention at first with simple flirts to the bartender who already considered her just as another drunk guest.
When she saw another young man passing she got off her stool and grabbed him by the collar, wanting to push a kiss on him but the guy was still wide awake and pushed her back, telling her to find another. Nancy didn’t mind however, giving a wide grin and small wink to the guy before looking at the two next to her who had observed the scene. Giving them a look that said she’d as easily give them a kiss too. Which made one of them easily turn away. The other gave her a provoking look as if to dare her. She ignored him and went for the one that turned away, having walked behind him and whispering some smugly words into his ear, causing the guy to sigh deeply as for all he knew he had a drunk girl hanging on him. He lightly pushed her away from him, still in a gentle manner. Telling her to go and bother someone else, which only made her stay with him. Pushing herself against him and giggling into his ear to kiss him onto his cheek.
All she had been aiming for was to annoy them out of the bar and follow them when they did. It only took a few more bothersome minutes before they decided to leave. -“Don’t go yet?!” She called after them and with a acted lack of balance she drove after them out of the bar into the hallways of the station. -“God…” Paul grumbled in his annoyance. Him being thirty-five year old Universal pilot. Also the one that was wearing the ring that had caught Nancy’s attention earlier. His friend and colleague Edward was still amused by it all and didn’t mind that much. -“Don’t you have others to annoy?” Paul told Nancy more clear so she’d hear. -“Nope” She answered dry and leaned against him once they had stopped walking in the hallways. Paul just wanting to get rid of here before she’d cause any trouble. -“She can stay.” Edward said with a chuckle to Paul. -“Don’t even think about it Ed.” Paul said with a sigh, not wanting the same drama they have had before with Edward coming late to work the next day. -“Got a place you stay here?” Paul asked, wanting to get rid of her as soon as possible and doing it in a responsible way. Thinking Edward would go with anything if he’d be bringing her home. -“Nope.” She answered again, trying to kiss Paul in the meantime who was keeping her at some distance with his hands. At the same time sighing in annoyance as he really wanted to get rid of her by this time. -“Ed, I’ll be back in a hour.” Paul told him, taking Nancy’s hand as he wanted to guide her away, wondering if he could find out where she was staying. -“Oh?! You taking her now?” Edward joked, knowing Paul had no interest in her besides wanting to get her home.
Nancy smiled in a acted drunken way, giggling along the way while everything seemed to be going perfectly. Already imagining some things she could be doing soon. Edward and Paul took separate ways, knowing where to meet afterwards. Nancy following along as if she didn’t have a clue on what was happening and giggling around still trying to sometimes kiss Paul while he was leading her down the hallways to the residential area of the station. Thinking he’d ask there if anyone knew her. Just hoping she actually lived here, not wanting to end up leaving her in some hotel or anything similar.
When no one seemed to have recognized her after some asking around he did choose to head to a local hotel on the station. Getting more annoyed by her overtime the more she tried to push herself against him. Seeming to enjoy it herself as she was still giggling around. Once they arrived at the hotel lobby he sighed once more when she was hugged around him and smiling at the lady behind the counter. -“A room for one, please.” He told the woman behind the counter the annoyance from Nancy coming through his expression and voice. -“Are you sure?” The lady asked smiling herself as if she found something funny. -“Yes I’m sure.” He told her rather direct. -“Just for you then?” The lady said with the same smile on her. -“For her…” Paul said somewhat confused thinking it was obvious. -“Room 322 is hers.” The lady said simple giving him the keycard as she figured what is was about. -“Ah… thanks.” Paul said, taking the card and Nancy’s hand to pull her along thinking he’d find the way himself. -“You’re welcome.” The lady called after them, shaking her head a little and turned back to work.
Paul pulled Nancy along the hallway to a elevator having noticed it had to be 22nd room on the third floor. Being gentle about moving her even though she didn’t seem to resist much in anyway, only seeming interested in hugging him or another person that passed by once in a while, him keeping her from doing so when he noticed her drifting off. Eventually they arrived at the room which he opened with the given card. Nancy smiling inside of her when he opened the door. Leaning against him as she wanted to push him inside. He moved inside only wanting to leave the card on a desk in the room and then leave as soon as possible. -“You little naughty boy…” She said in a giggle when they both moved in the room, her letting go of him, closing the door behind her and making a little jog for the bed to jump on it, only wanting to reach for her bag that was on the opposite side of it on the ground.
Paul shook his head and laid the key on the desk, glad he got rid of her in a decent way. When he made his way back to the door a ‘not-so-drunk’ voice came from behind him. -“You’re not leaving.” Nancy had told him, having picked up her gun from her bag and sat legged on the bed with the gun aimed for him. -“The F-…” Paul could only utter when he looked over his shoulder. Feeling a sting in his neck a moment later. Pulling out whatever was stuck in his skin, only able to see it was a dart before he passed out and collapsed on the floor...
