Landscape

A shot of the landscape at the exterior of the Sector 86.

New Eden is an extremely big planet, roughly three times the size of Planet Manhattan. The planetary structure is similar to Earth, featuring lot of variety, ranging from luxurious jungles to endless ice plains.

The slow rotation cycle of the planet make nights and day shifts approximately twice longer than the Earth standard. This rotation cycle influes on the temperatures and is responsible for the extremely cold nights. The temperatures at the poles are deadly, the lowest temperature recorded on the planet, -63°C, was found at the South Pole.

The planet is divided in five continents : The big central continent, the western continent, the isles of the south east, the icelands, and the mysterious northern ring. The part of the planet colonized by the Aurorans is located at the center of the western continent, which represent approximately 1/8 of the whole planet surface.

The Icelands.

The Icelands is the name given by the Aurorans to the large icy continent located at the south pole. The unusual rotation of the planet make the Icelands almost never exposed to the sun, the exposure is estimated to be of around two hours every two weeks on fridays. The temperatures in the Icelands range from -63°C in the lands and around -48°C at the edges of the continent.

The Northern Ring is what is supposed to be an anomaly. It is a large circular band of ice of around 50 kilometers of diameter, located at the north pole. The water inside the ring is always liquid, and the reasons of the phenomenon is one of the mysteries the Aurorans still have to solve about the planet.

Creatures of the Central Continent.

The central continent is the biggest continent of the planet and is currently under the protection of The Council of Aurora, according to the rules of natural preservation and ecology. The continent is populated by a wide range of CAT TIMELAPSE
