History

Austin Rodney Goodman , was born on July 08th, 790 A.S. on Planet New London at the New London Regional Military Hospital.

Austin was the son to James William Goodman, and Evelyn Tracey Goodman. He was the first born out of himself and his sister, who was born shortly after him. After spending a few weeks in the hospital, Austin and his family moved to their small ranch on Cambridge. (790 A.S.)

A year goes by and Austin is on a ship, his families transport called The Storm, his small family shipping company was bought out by the new Gateway shipping firm. His family received eight million credits in return from this new firm. By the time he was two years old he could speak, but was generally quiet. (791 A.S.)

At the age of five, Austin had started school, and has taken an interest in engineering and the stars. He was able to dismantle and re-mantle model and toy cars, and could easily put things together without instructions. (795 A.S.)

By the age of ten, Austin's father is called into active service, being deployed to New London to counter a Rheinland attack, the beginning of multiple Rheinland attacks throughout Bretonian space. Within a year, Rheinland's main fleet was devastated and pushed back to the Rheinland core worlds. Austin's father was deployed to Rheinland space to over-see the new establishment of a peaceful Rheinland Government, his regiment acted as a peacekeeping force for one full year before returning home. (800-1 A.S.)

At the age of eleven, Austin was taken off world for the second time in his life. This time his families ship headed out towards the Kusari systems, north of Bretonia. This was years before the relations with Kusari started to fall. Upon arriving in Honshu, Austin got a bit curious and left the Transport, then started to wander around. It was two days before his parents realized he was missing. Kusari State Police, working effectively, found the young boy alright in a Honshu noble families house, the Kaito's.

Upon returning to Bretonian space, Austin was severely punished by his father. Being pushed out of an Airlock, in a spacesuit, would make for Austin's first spacewalk. Which scared and amazed him, and possibly set way for Austin's future career.(801 A.S.)

At the age of thirteen, Austin met a young noble girl at a Cambridge public school, named Amanda Purdon. This noble girl became Austin's first crush, oddly he found out that she had a crush on him as well. (803 A.S.)

His life forever changed at the age of fourteen. His father, and mother, were killed while on a transport run to Kusari. Amanda Purdon was hit by a drunk driver right in front of Austin's own eyes following his parents death, and his sister's supposed death. Since he has tried not to fall in love with anyone, or attempt to make any personal connection, as all personal connections remind him of this young nobles death, and this is what probably started his hatred of all nobles, as he sees them as careless individuals. (804 A.S.)

At the age of Seventeen, Austin applied for the Cambridge Military Academy, and was later accepted. Taking his future career as an Armed Forces pilot, as part of the Goodman family tradition that all the males in the family have followed since the first Goodman stepped off of the sleeper ship. (807 A.S.)

At the age of Twenty-five, weeks before the schedule graduating ceremony for new officers. Terry Scott, one of Austin's best friends, hacked into a military defense grid, a weapons platform along the Cambridge line opened up and destroyed a Rheinland freighter, killing the pilots and passengers. Although it was both Austin's and Terry's fault, Terry took full responsibility and was exiled from Bretonia to the edge worlds. Upon graduating, Austin was sent into the reserves as a Cadet. (815 A.S.)

Austin served two years as a reserve pilot. Upon his final reservist year he met the Fleet Admiral of the actual Armed Forces, Admiral Percy Nelles, who later told him to apply to the Armed Forces proper, which he did. Within a day, probably one of the fastest acceptances in the history of the Armed Forces, Austin was promoted from Cadet to the cannon-fodder rank of Ensign. (817 A.S.)

At the Age of Twenty-Seven, Austin was flying a Templar in full combat readiness. Being stationed on the Suffolk, amongst nobles. Within his first month of piloting he was sent on a diplomatic escort mission for the Whitehall a Diplomatic yacht which headed for New York. Austin stayed in New York, despite ignoring orders and went with his gut feeling. The very next day the Whitehall and Austin, were headed back to Bretonian space when two Corsair bombers ambushed the diplomatic yacht and her escort.

Being in a Paladin, Austin engaged one of the Corsair bombers and held it off long enough for the Whitehall with Prime Minister Mountbatten on it, to get to the Silsbury system. They were successful. At the Award ceremony, which followed a week or so later, Austin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was giving the Carina's Cross.

By the time he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander, Austin was captured three times by Kusari Forces, the first time he was captured he was broken out by his wingman, Sipher Rockwell, the second time he was traded for a captain. The third time, he managed to wander back on his own. Being called a traitor and a hero. A week or so later he traded his very soul and purpose for the better of Humanity, or the better of his people. One couldn't tell.

He went insane enough to attempt to steal an artifact from the Cambridge Research station. The Artifact was bound for the wilde, who were a group of nomad infected humans. Austin was ultimately caught by the girl he fell in love with, and his commanding officer, who both were tipped off by Austin himself. He was later charged with treason and served a few months in jail before his trial, which was interrupted when a small group of Rheinlanders, The Wilde, busted him out of the Police Prison Liner, though they made away with out him.

Austin later woke up on the unknown and highly classified battleship, The Grimsby and then was nearly beaten to death, knocked unconsious and woke up planet side, of Planet Leeds, where he wandered for nearly three days before making contact with people, and watching a Sabre fall from the sky, which turned out later on to be Terry Scott. (817 A.S.)

Before being promoted to the rank of Commander, Austin's life was attempted three times by Order Operatives. All three attempts have failed. The Order attempted to place an informant in Austin's life, which also failed. According to The Order, Austin Goodmen is a highly dangerous man.

Now, Twenty-Eight years old, Austin serves as a Commander in the Armed Forces. He was charged with treason once, captured at least three to four times by enemy forces. Has faced countless of problems, and threats, to himself and his house which he proudly continues to serve.

Austin Goodmen is a highly dangerous individual, and is wanted for several crimes in Bretonian space, which involves evading arrest and a court martial. He is suspected to be operating with multiple accomplices. However this is unknown at the time. The Bretonian Armed Forces would like Austin Goodman to be brought in alive so he can face his charges. As well as those that work with him. (818 A.S.)

Life outside of the Armed Forces

Austin's social life outside of the Armed Forces is very limited. Sometimes he stays on the Suffolk or any other battleship that he's currently stationed on and works on his ship. He rarely gets out, and when he does. Theres normally hell to pay when he's back on duty.

From time to time Austin can be seen in either Rheinland or Liberty space, helping the local police and military forces with pirates along Bretonian routes. He's earned the respect of many ranking members of both the Liberty Navy and Rheinland Military. Despite being called a spy in Rheinland.

When Austin does get out, planet side, he mainly stays at his home on Planet Cambridge, and tends to things that are needed to be done. Since the Goodman Family ranch is a rather large farm, with a lake. He spends most of his time there when people are on his nerves or when he needs to cool off.

The most recent event that Austin has attended was an 18 year old nobles party, that he was invited to.

Hobbies

Austin has a rather strange list of Hobbies, which range from Building artificial intelligence programs, such as his program "Program 302", to working on and repairing Bretonian ships, such as his Templar.

With the little time he can find he spends it well, visiting other places, traveling around Sirius (though now he's more cautious), or just relaxing on the most famous beach on Cambridge.

Military and Personal Ships

Templar -- Austin's old bird, as he calls it. He had to repair this vessel as he found it in the scrap yard, after he locked the controls to the last Templar he had, which was sent straight into the sun. According to him it had Nomads on it.

Paladin -- The Paladin was one of the newest, yet oldest, ships off the Bretonian line. Austin managed to get one for cheap and worked on it just like his Templar. He was the first known Ensign to fly a ship meant for a Lieutenant and up. He was dubbed "Prince of the Paladin." By Fleet Admiral Nelles, and then later "King of the Paladin." He has since kept this title in reserve and has been using his Templar.

Hussar -- Austin's first ship, a hand-me-down if you will. This ship served him as he flew it during the days of the Volunteer Corps. It still flies and serves him well to this day. He uses it as a personal ship now, instead of combat vessel. Of course, it can still pack a bite to those that wish to attack him during his visits beyond Bretonian borders.

Arrow -- Recently bought interceptor fighter. Instead of a combat craft this vessel is used for aerial acrobatics for the Bretonian Red Arrows, a special aerial display team of seven pilots in the Bretonian Armed Forces.

Calm Before The Storm -- Long time family transport, handed down from generation to generation, was once lost, but was recovered by a family friend and given to Austin free of charge.
