Tei Kallistei,

Recently I have come into possession of a ship which was a long time ago owned by a Lane Hacker himself. It didn’t have a lot of maintenance over the last few years, the seller of this vessel did inform us of this so we knew there was a lot of work to be done. One of the things are the outdated databanks. Our engineers are working around the clock to restore the hull. It seemed over the years the hull did suffer a lot of damage, still lucky enough all replaceable.

Now I was wondering if you would provide us detailed information about the said vessel and maybe upgrades for the databanks. This would severally speed it all up. I can imagine you would like to see some fee for this, as some of the data I request might be hard to get.

I will await your reply 23’s

Good day Mr.Cole

First of all, you were right to come to us about this vessel. If it was one of ours at one time we would indeed be interested in examining the databanks. You will likely not be able to decrypt the data stored there.

As to helping you restore the vessel, we would need more information about what class of ship it is, and of course how you came into posession of it. Rest assured that if everything is up to snuff on your end, we have the resources to help you get the ship into working order.

If you give us a location, we can send someone there to do an ititial examination, collect any information we may need, and estimate the costs involved in restoring the ship.

I will await your response.

Tei Kallistei Orlov,

It is good to hear you would be able to assist us with this issue we have. The class of the vessel I will keep for myself at this time. I prefer to talk about this during a meeting in which you could examine the mentioned vessel. Also I will inform you then of the old retired Lane Hacker who sold this ship to me. Maybe even tell you his wish. But this we will discuss face to face.

My S.k.Y.p.E protocols I will sent on a secure line, We could use this to arrange a meeting and its location. I prefer sending it over a private channel, because never know who might try to intercept it. Even from an already intercepted message.

I will await your reply 23’s

Greetings Mr.Cole

The data we collected at Pueblo Bonito is being analyzed with great interest by myself and the Proffesorship. Once we have determined a course of action, either myself or more likely Miss Hunter will get in touch with you.

I have never looked into the meaning of your expression 23s, so I will merely bid you goodnight.

Dear Mr Cole,

I have received all the data gathered by Mr Orlov. I am afraid you will not like what I am going to tell you.

It appears that you have been misinformed. Having in mind possible business between us, I will give you some information that we still consider as classified, although, to be honest, it has purely historical value as of lately. There was only one Spyglass prototype developed originally by the LSF and acquired by us in collaboration with back then our allies, the Hellfire Legion. What was unique in this prototype were not its armaments, but incredibly sophisticated array of scanners and devices to conduct advanced electronic warfare. Hellfire Legion engineers managed to reproduce the ship skeleton, plating, engines and avionics, while we focused on what was most interesting for us - electronics and software. The original prototype has been completely disassembled, but the Hellfire Legion managed to reproduce several copies.

Only two of them were in service outside of Hellfire Legion fleet. Fu Manchu was our mobile base of operations, while Metropolis became home for Vagrant Raiders. Both these battleships were destroyed. Since both Hellfire Legion and Vagrant Raiders were more interested in sheer fire-power of their vessels, only Fu Manchu had complete set of scanners and electronic warfare armaments of the original prototype. Over the years Hellfire Legion decided to even further cut the costs on expensive electronics while boosting pure combat potential of their vessels. This is how Arbiter class of battleships has been developed. The Legion slowly replaced all of their Spyglasses with Arbiters, and by replacing I mean that they either completely refitted them or disassembled.

Spyglass battleships no longer exist, although I believe that Vagrant Raiders, known for their foolish romanticism, re-pressurized wreck of Metropolis and started to use it as their base of operations. The aura of uniqueness and speciality which surrounds this class of battleships has fooled many people, who forgot that it was developed many years ago and by today standards it is already outdated. Excellent shipbuilders such as your kind should know this better. The only thing that mattered has been duplicated by us and actually you can still buy some Spyglass scanners on the black market.

After decrypting its database I have no doubts that the ship you have acquired is an older version of Hellfire Legion Arbiter class battleship. Whoever sold it to you was most likely a defector commander from the Legion. We have heard that recently their morale has fallen and the group is in disarray. This is probably why they have vandalised ship's database and pretended to be someone else. Actually, I am quite baffled how you could even believe in such a surreal story? A defecting Hacker trying to sell our battleship to you? Also, just thinking out loud, if this was true, we would be obliged to reclaim or destroy the vessel, locate the defector and most likely assassinate everyone involved in the process, including you.

Fortunately, this is not the case. And since we are no friends of the Hellfire Legion anymore, we can help you restore this Arbiter to a working condition. I believe that all engineering can be done in your excellent shipyards by your own specialists. From our side we can offer you restoration of the database, removal of any safeguards and replacement of corrupted software. The only question is, what you can offer in return?

Kind regards,
Nicole Hunter

Tei Kallistei miss Hunter,

It seems I did lack some information about that indeed. I will keep the information you provided me between us off course. You had me at a point when I did fear for my own life. Lucky your could trace its origins of this ship, otherwise I think I would have feared for my life.

It is good to hear that we could restore it within our own shipyards and that you are willingly to provide us the tools for fully restore the ship within its former glory. You made me wonder, what you would like to see in return? I thought it over and over, but could not really find an answer. I guess credits is nothing what you are in need of as I believe you are not hackers for nothing. I’m pretty sure you make a good living. But I wonder if you have something in particular in mind. If so please let me know and I can see what I could arrange.

Dear Mr Cole,

Indeed, there is one thing you can obtain for us. It should not even require too much effort on your side due to your special position, influences and reputation. If done properly, it will not hurt you in a slightest way nor any other human being at all. Organize for us one AI Drone shield from Planet Gammu by any means you will deem appropriate. Pray, beg, bribe or steal. Once you're successful, contact Mr Orlov to organize retrieval. He will bring a team of specialists with appropriate software and hardware to Pueblo Bonito to assist you in your endeavours.

Best regards,
Nicole Hunter

As you can see we successfully managed to get our hands on an AI shield, the task was more difficult than expected but Eris was on our side. As well having some pretty good contacts. But to get back to business you can inform Mr Orlov to retrieve this piece of equipment. Or well he might even still be watching this channel.

I praise Eris for this fortune and I hope after this is settled we might do more business in the future.

Good to hear from you again Mr.Cole

It is encouraging to see that you can be relied upon to keep up your end of things. I will gather the neccesary people and hardware you will need for your project. A crew of 10 will need to be housed at your facility for a few weeks while they assist you. They are good at their jobs, have no doubts, but a project as large as yours, well....you understand expert craftsmanship takes time. I will depart when I have what you need, an will contact you when en route.

Tei Kallistei Orlov,

It has been a time since I did hear anything from you. I did fear you forgot about it entirely. I want to inform you that the ship is making a huge progress within its restoration. The hulls are almost entirely repaired. It took a lot of Ship hull panels, I hope the bretonians will not get suspicious..

Please let me know when we could meet to close the deal.
