First of all, I'm all for shiploss on death. I think it will solve most problems disco currently have. Will you trade in your cau8 stork if it can suddenly become dust? Or you'll choose au8 kujira? Or maybe even hau1 BWT? Death here's totally unvalued, but since it's RP server, it should. If you're loosing fight you should run. If you want be safe, you shouldn't fly your cau8 battleship without escort. When such battleship appears you shouldn't take unnecessary risk and try to kill it with caps, just log a pair of bombers. With cheap armor, au5 for example.
You will deny pirate's request because you've just bought your cargo? No.
But I understand that remaking ships is too hard. It will draw activity from discovery.

Another idea is good enough. Armor loss on death. Consequences maybe lighter than above, but again, there won't be CAUs on freighters/traders, capital ship will become less armored or they'll have heavy escort. And you won't engage fight you cannot win on any ship just because it's "fair".

Please, think about it. I finished.

If I wanted shiploss on death, I'd go play EVE. But I like having fun, so I play Discovery.

The convenience of the respawn button is one of the things I like about the game. I just hit respawn and go RP somewhere else for a bit. No need to powergrind to replace my stuff.
As mentioned above, go play Eve Online for a bit.
I'd like a credit loss on death (some % of the ship's total cost), but it leads to two other issues: 1) Server stability/connection (I'm gonna get annoyed if I get kicked from the server and I lose a bunch a credits just because I happened to be in an expensive ship close to hostiles), 2. It's going to up the ante quite a lot - people will be even more focused on not getting killed, and do what's necessary not to (e.g. gankgankgank/botfeed like mad). It would be a different Disco, not sure we could handle it or it will spin madly out of control. It works for Eve because everyone knows what you are getting into, and no one cares if you lose a lot of hard work.
share us some cash and we will see how it goes.

make armors cheap then we cool thou. cheap like ammo.
Obviously I agree. Though really Im for making everything cheaper, and much easier to buy - every civ and respective house ship easily available in every house, by making multiple docking ports on stations/planets a la barrier gate if necessary - so that it wont be hard, or take ages to rebuy your ship.

One of the reasons for this is that as well as providing a penalty, it will allow us to remove the tech nerf. This is because if your using tech belonging to an enemy, when you die, you wont be able to get it back, seeing as you're hostile. It should also help prevent people using tech out of area - E.G: Freelancers flying around in gallic tech on 100% on the other side of sirius, cos who wants to fly all the way across srirus each time you die?

I appreciate you dont want too much grind, which is why I said make everything cheaper and more easily available, but we DO need to encourage even vets to trade. Its the lifeblood of disco afterall. Plus needing money gives purpose, I know it got more boring once I got so rich I never actually needed money again.
Instead of making a heavily abusable feature that could quite easily lead to greifing, why not just find ways to make trading suck less? The reason few people trade is because its generally a really crap experience. With pirates outgunning anything you can bring, AND having anything they want to shoot you with, theres just no real reason to trade unless your desperate.

Not to mention this fails to take into account the fact that the majoroty of people who act like complete jackasses are usually flying bombers or gunships, which are dirt cheap. Honestly all this does is hurt those with larger transports or capital ships.

Way more negatives than positives.
Nah, it would just get personal. People would go and gank people they don't like so they lose a ship. Playing hardcore mode is just no fun.
If i don't want you to kill me i will run for ages and you will never catch me, i once agreed with you, i don't anymore.

Yes a way to make trading more fun would be good. Any ideas?

As for pirates, just hire escorts and you can always avoid them, pirates have to work to catch people too you know, and even when they do, a bomber is usually the MINIMUM you need to have enough DPS to kill the trader before he just thrusts to the nearest base and tanks your damage. Thats not even taking into account if he can actually fly and fight back!

As for the price, a properly set up bomber actually costs like 25-30 mill, but ye transports are more expensive, thats why you'll see I said reducing everythings price.

I disagree.
