Why can't it be like the good old days where players fought players folks? Not players fighting NPCs patrolled by players.

Pmuch. Tried unlawful bounty hunting? It's either lure them far away or get buttraped by NPC's.

We lowered NPC count, they said. I run into the same amount if not only a tiny bit less.

Oh, and since NPC's damage so much now it's balanced because they drop more bots/bats but on the flip side I'll be PVP'ing someone, they simply shoot their own NPCs down and get a free 10-17 bots.

I must agree on that. Now dieing in fighter in anything then snac or mine or missile/torpedo is quite a achievement. 2-3 people can shot one fighter, and he can keep his bots at max by just dodging and taking down npcs to refill.
Same story with the numbers, piracy is still not pleasant or fun activity.
Numbers must go at least in half down or even more, the 4.86 18 bots/bats by death plugin must be brought back,
Sometimes some noob/npc transps/gbs can be instantilled dropping full loads of bots and bats.

I find this amusing as I don't seem to be taking damage in my civillian shuttle.
