Another day, and more successes for Liberty, at the expense of her enemies. Gunboats galore indeed today.
Launching today, I got a report of a rogue gunboat at Manhattan, ironically named Mad Bomber.
He was already engaged by a few of our forces, so I engaged, managing to stick a supernova into his face, blowing his ship to pieces.
Then California control sent me reports of a rogue gunboat in the system, so I headed there along with a gunboat, paladin justice. We met the rogue, Jimmie Kidd Clarke at Mojave and engaged. He tried valiantly to destroy one of us, but his constant switching of targets prevented major damage to either ship. He was destroyed.
Returning to NY, I chanced upon another Rogue gunboat, and I engaged. The Psycko soon fell to combined fighter attacks. He managed to damage several ships, but just like Jimmie, his constant switching prevented major damage to our forces, and no casualties whatsoever. Destruction lay in his future, and met him head on.
After a my lunch break, I launched to hear reports of a Hacker gunship in the system. I ordered a search and soon our target was found, near Norfolk. He did not appear to show hostile intentions, but just to make sure I landed my fighter at Norfolk and switched to my bomber that was docked there. However, unfortunately, in that time frame, the gunship opened fire on Officer David Hastings, destroying his ship. Luckily, being so close to the Missouri meant his pod was quickly picked up. He did not survive long.
Landing and switching back to my fighter, I got reports of LSF agent Cartman fighting a Lane Hacker somewhere. We found them engaged at Colorado gate, and we hastily moved to help. The Lane Hacker Phate fought, but seeing his demise, he fled to Colorado. We pursued him, but he disappeared into a jump hole and we broke pursuit.
Then, back at Norfolk we met yet another rogue gunboat, this time the Stormcrow. He did not appear to show hostile intentions, but just to make sure I landed my fighter at Norfolk and switched to my bomber that was docked there. However, unfortunately, in that time frame, the gunship opened fire on Officer David Hastings, destroying his ship. I launched and engaged, along with a fighter and a gunboat, and seeing his demise, he fled, but not before taking damage to his ship.
The last encounter of my shift was quite an odd one. I get reports of a corsair gunboat at Manhattan, and behold I saw a order pilot, though he claimed he had defected and was a pirate now. Neverless, he engaged me, and we fought. His many nomad turrets caused great damage to my ship, but I managed to survive and repair. Eventually, another fighter, kitty, and I managed to take him out.
Finally the day was done. Liberty saved once again from a torrid of gunboats. Hail Liberty!
