Minor promotions:

Recruits Virgil Redline and Ralph Stevenson have both fulfilled their quotas of flight time and are promoted to ensigns of the Liberty Navy. Feel free to purchase your Guardian at any point from now on. The roster will be updated at the next available opportunity.

You've both aquitted yourself well in the service of Liberty, performing well in live combat and compiling detailed reports. However, Virgil, you should sort out that stuttering problem when faced with many enemies. It makes you sound... untrained, unfit for battle, even though you proved otherwise today.

Any other recruits who have fulfilled the required flight time of eight hours in the seat of your executioner should re-submit your promotion requests here with the relevant proof. I'm currently compiling a checklist of things to do, and it is in your interest to be on that checklist.

~Lt. Commander Jack Malrone.
>Reinstated to Patrol Duties.

Admirality,

I have been cleared out of hospital have already re-commenced my patrol duties.

>Possible Rheinland Agent ~ California.

My first patrol duty was, as usual, California. Everything was quiet until I hit the ice field near Willard Research station. A small vessel, GENKOLOSS, was detected engaging some Hackers. I moved to assist and found the target was flying a Rheinland fighter. After I'd finished with the Hackers, the target proceeded to engage me and I was forced to return fire.

>Rogue Gunboat ~ New York.

After finishing up patrol in California, I made my way to New York. En-route, the newly commissioned Liberty Dreadnought, Ft. Wenachee, came on comms for her maiden voyage. No sooner had I greeted the Captain did I come across a Rogue gunboat near the West Point <-> California trade lane. Callsign [SRB]Nemanja, the target wasn't happy to leave the area peacefully. I gave him several warnings, all of which he refused point blank to obey. The Wenachee was already touring West Point and diverted course to assist.

>Another Rogue Gunboat ~ New York.

Minutes after intercepting the first gunboat, another was spotted orbiting Manhatten. Paul_Donovan was apparently searching for Rochester - To get repairs. He allegedly ran into a minefield and was severely damaged. I ordered him to leave, else his ship wouldn't need repairing.

Later on in the shift, the same gunboat was taken over by some sort of terrorist, demanding twenty-five Navy hostages or he'd blow Paul's brains out. The clear directive is not to negotiate with terrorists - So I denied his request and started a search party. Before long, he came to us at Fort Bush. Babbling about blowing up Fort Bush, we were forced to neutralise him before he became a threat to anyone else. I managed to SNAC the gunboat moments before he crashed into Fort Bush. The resulting antimatter expansion resulted in the explosives on board having only (approximately) 15% of their full potential, meaning Fort Bush was only suffered minor damage.

>Assault charges ~ New York.

As I was talking to a person piloting an illegal fighter at Norfolk, a freelancer by the name SMGSterlin fired upon a civilian meters away from my ship. I ordered the immediate arrest of said freelancer and for him to be escorted to Sugarland immediately. He seemed confused as to why such action was needed, as he thought the civilian was infected with "LOL" syndrome.

Eventually, he complied and Sugarland found him innocent of assaulting a civilian vessel.

>"CEO" Jayce Brooks ~ New York.

As I was dealing with Mr Sterlin, the Wenachee and her escort had intercepted a fighter near Rochester, callsign Jayce.Brooks. Apparently the pilot wasn't too happy about her treatment by the Navy and wanted to file a complaint. I relayed to Mr/Ms Brooks that the only way to file a complaint was on Manhatten at the Navy's HQ. Jayce quickly retracted her statement and said that a liaison would be in touch.

>Xeno ~ New York.

XA-Stiletto had been picked up heading from Colorado toward Fort Bush. I went to intercept, along with officer Gowron. I offered him a deal that he release the civilian hostages and not bother us again. He seemed to accept the deal...for a while.

Approximately ten minutes later, the Xeno was spotted engaging some Ageria pilots. I ordered Gowron and another officer to take him out. Unfortunately, both officers failed and the task was left to me. The Xeno knew a thing or two about fighter tactics and was quite hard to hit. I managed to SNAC his shield, only to be hit by an ion pulse moments later. Myself and the Xeno were left adrift until backup systems kicked in. By that time, I'd lost the target on sensors.

I'll be reviewing how such a pulse managed to propagate after firing a SNAC.

  • GENKOLOSS --POSSIBLE RHEINLAND AGENT-- --NEUTRALIED--

....

On launching my Guardian I was called to assist with a hostile bomber assault near the LPI Bush facility, on arrival I heard that these hostile's were responsible for several ship's destruction and joined the fray.

As the battle moved into the debris field already damaged Cartel MM Johnny was destroyed under combined fire from our forces, another bomber designated Azure Gryphon was the next vessel to be downed followed shortly by Alizarin Gryphon. A Rogue Gunboat then engaged our forces, this vessel designated "Danny" was swiftly depatched.

BHG Carter then fell to Caledon Gryphon near Bush and I moved to engage Caledon who was engaged with a friendly "The Reverend", sadly Reverend lost his ship shortly afterwards as I continued to engage Caledon, another Gunboat entered our duel and our remaining forces who were standing by forced the interloper "Zion Xi'Leon" to flee but not before this Gunboat had destroyed friendly vessel Terothseki.

I returned to my duel with Caledon Gryphon and slowly wore down his vessel, only to see it resupplied by a passing Repair ship, for over an hour we fought with again me slowly eroding the enemy vessel down, then I made a mistake and a well placed SNAC from the enemy disintegrated my craft around me. My pod flew towards Bush where I file this report awaiting my transport to take me back to my office on board the [LN]-LNS-Retribution.

SUBJECT: Patrol Report

Today upon launch I was advised of a HF incursion in the NY sector, making my way to reported sighting I found Navy Officer Looper engaged with a HF Sabre piloted by Matt Tanner. Standing by the fight as Looper had it in hand a further 2 HF fighters arrived, engaging the HF support wing it soon became a furious dogfight with no mercy being shown.

Looper then managed to take down Tanner just before a further 3 hostile's arrived, we were now outnumbered 5 to 2 and under pressure. The enemy had 4 fighters and 1 Bomber so Looper and I agreed to concentrate fire upon the Bomber and it soon choose to flee the engagment rather than be destroyed. Switching target's now to HF Shia he fell under our assault with my guns finishing his craft.

We had turned the tables now on the enemy as support arrived in the form of Officer Edmond in a bomber and LPI Hunter in a Liberator, Mr Edmond showed great skill in destroying both HF Jester and HF Hendrick, the remaining enemy contact Phate wisely choose to flee now as his support had been demolished.

Moving on towards Bush where a Outcast Gunship was reported destroying craft we engaged and quickly despatched the enemy GB named Zion-Xi'Leon and his support craft, a bomber named Blazing Fire.

Later at Pitts, 2 Hacker's were causing trouble, myself and Roy Sterling engaged them. One enemy named SeaEagle retreated upon being damaged while Mr Sterling despatched the other named Jarek_70.

I then joined Admiral Hale and Commodore Robinson for a patrol of Colorado and as chance would have it, encountered a Rogue Gunboat as soon as we jumped into Colorado, the enemy fled to Galieo where he had laid a trap for our forces which had been strengthened by Freelancer Durandal. Upon jumping into Galieo we were faced with 2 Gunboats 1 Bomber and then a Destroyer! The enemy Gunboat Galendrya fell first under combined fire, then Gunboat Cristian also lost hull integrity. The Destroyer Soverign was upon us now and after recieving heavy damage it attempted to flee towards a Rogue installation nearby, luckily we destroyed the enemy capital before it managed to dock with the facility.

Thanks to the dark matter cloud and Rogue jamming I was unable to record the facilities exact location, but we should be aware that there is a major Rogue installation hidden in that matter cloud somewhere. Admiral Hale finished off the remaining bomber and we resumed our patrol.

In New York I was called to assist against 2 Sabres and another Outcast Destroyer, the enemy Capital Designated "SeaEagle" (Perhaps somehow connected with the Hacker named SeaEagle that had been previously chased off, but this is unknown). We managed to take down the Destroyer although we lost LSF Gosselin in the fray. Under heavy fire from the Sabre's Alfonso and Luca Mariotti I began to take damage, these pilots were strong and slowly ground my ship down, eventually after a long fight my thruster malfunctioned and my craft was vaporised around me by Luca Mariotti. As my pod sped towards Manhattan I could only look on as Admiral Hale, Commodore Robinson and Durandal continued the fight.

A very eventful patrol indeed.

Captain William Peters.

Subject: Classified Research Station in Bremen found

Message - Secured via LSF Firewall - Sentinel S9000

Greetings, Associate Dept. Director reporting in latest LSF`s recon mission in Rheinland Space.
We gathered few Agents in front of Planet Houston for the recon mission. Target was Bremen System.
We went in using Minnesota > Quebec > New Hampshire , we docked on Battleship Concord to take more H-Fuel supplies.
We jumped to Bremen and we`ve been attacked by the stationary battleship near the hole, none of us taken damage. We went deep inside the system and we found a small moon from where we heard some noises on the communication channels nearby us.
As we went in we detected a small minefield who was surrounding a station. We went to seek a passage, a possible passage is shown in the CAM- pictures. It is possible that this is a Rheinland Military Research Facility.
Station identified as "Munster".

Uploading Image aboard one of our ships.

http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6194/screen35y.png

After we did this we went to Hamburg System as we received information about two possible targets.
Rheinland Military didn't expect us but those two targets were highly defended.
Target names RNC-Volk and RNC-Diepholz we successful attacked them. Suddenly both of them moored on Planet Hamburg and suddenly dissapeared. This is some new technology they got onboard LSF will discuss about this. After the two targets dissapeared we retreated back to the exit of Hamburg but few LSF pilots got shot down. We sent a Stealth LSF Rescue Ship, we managed to pick them all up.
Both targets got heavy damaged so mission was a success.

God Speed,
A.D.D Christian Deus.

Update to the faction roster:

In keeping with Navy organisation, the roster has been updated personally by Admiral Hale. Some Captains have been given full duties again from their reserve status, and some recruits have been given their full status as an officer of the Liberty Navy, finding themselves as ensigns.

If you have spotted any mistakes with your rank, please ask either myself or Admiral Hale about your concerns.

The Bretonian Delegation:

Today, we were visited by a Bretonian diplomat, Lord Canning. Concerning recent talks with the Zoners as well as our initiation of talks between ourselves, the Liberty Navy, and Kusari, the meeting spanned about fourty minutes.

Rude interjections by the captain of the gunboat-class vessel known as SMGSterlin, notably demanding that the envoy drop all his cargo and leave Liberty space, has led Admiral Hale and I to deem this captain a possible threat to Liberty. Exercise caution when dealing with this vessel and do not hesitate to remove the captain's commission if he acts with hostility.

Lord Canning advised Admiral Hale of the dangers that the rogue organisation known as Queen Carina's Privateers pose to any shipping into and out of Kusari. This was accepted by us, and we agreed not to lay any blame on the Bretonian government for the acts of its wing of rogue pilots.

-------Liberty Logistics Code A8-------

Any and all convoys heading to Kusari along the designated route to Kusari, if the Kusari government finds approval with the terms that we have proposed, will consist of no less than three mammoth medium transports and one escort fighter. Whilst the combat prowess of the mammoth is well-documented, it appears that we may have to prove to any pirates who attempt to take an opportunity to disrupt our operations anywhere in sirius that our navy is still far beyond anything that any force, organised or otherwise, can match.

If this information is leaked in the same way that my transmission to the Kusari government was leaked, someone will find themselves serving time on Sugarland. I guarantee it.

-------Encryption Terminated-------

After the meeting, Lord Canning chose to spend the night in the Bretonian embassy on planet Manhattan. He will be leaving at a time of his own choosing. Do not obstruct his departure, and make every effort to assure that his vessel reaches the independant worlds bordering our nations without interruption.

Reconnaisance in Rheinland:

Today, I took the Liberty of organising a scout group to assess the defences of the first Rheinland controlled system in our path, Hamburg.

Putting together the task force was immediately more difficult than expected, with a lack of pilots answering the call to arms. Admiral Hale responded on the [LN]-LNS-Cape.Horn, a gunboat class vessel, but was intercepted and severely damaged by a swarm of local pirates. Seeing this, however, myself, ensign Stevenson and lieutenant commander Malrone intercepted the group, which promptly scattered. We did however, pursue a Rogue gunboat to the Badlands, where it was disabled and left to drift. Our scanners also picked up a sizable mass, possibly a large rock, but we were already occupied in preparing the upcoming mission. Luckily, quick repairs were applied to the Cape Horn, and it was able to join us for the mission ahead.

Our forces, once gathered, totalled five ships; the aforementioned gunboat and four strike craft. Later on during the mission, lieutenant commander Corraine joined us, meeting ensign Stevenson at Alster Shipyard. But, that's getting ahead of myself.

We left for Rheinland, traversing the Bering system with relative ease. We managed to slip past the regular patrols with, it has to be said, some difficulty, and proceeded into Hamburg.

The mission objective was to assess the defensive capability of our Rheinland foes by scanning their installations for their weapons loadouts and the status of their internal systems. This information was required as suprisingly, our information on the Hamburg system itself was quite outdated. A confrontation was not to be sought, though that part didn't go quite to plan as the Rheinlanders took great offense to our baiting.

Reaching a location directly below planet Hamburg, one strike craft pilotted by commander Casero was assigned to perform scans on the facilities in orbit above the planet. Without recieving so much as a nod from a passing 'agent' of Rheinland, Alex managed to gather all the required data. Returning to the pack below Hamburg, our task force proceeded to its next target, Alster Shipyard. We arrived below the waypoint without incident, and this time, ensign Stevenson went to gather the required scans. I also asked him to provide data on the productive capacity of the shipyard. On a small note, I ordered Ralph to destroy the storage depots around Alster, which may provide a small delay in their production line.

It was then that things became tense. The Rheinland agent from earlier reappeared whilst Ralph was gathering his data, and initiated her vicious attack. However, this was not a problem, as ensign Stevenson had the situation under control. In fact, he would have managed to incapacitate the vessel were it not for a Rheinland gunboat that arrived in the nick of time. At this point, things were certainly not under control. Our wing, which had been standing by out of range at the time, moved to intercept and relieve the ensign, which we did in short order. However, not before more Rheinland reinforcements arrived, causing a cut-throat skirmish to break out.

Fortunately, the skill and discipline of our pilots was more than enough to carry the day, only lieutenant commander Malrone having to retreat due to technical difficulties with his ship. The Rheinland response force was unequivocably smashed, with only two pilots left, the agent from earlier and a Rheinland Military pilot who was insistant on using Alster shipyard as his shield whenever his real sheilds fell.

It should be noted that due to the damage that the Cape Horn had sustained earlier in the day, it's battlerazor batteries were frequently overheating. This meant that it could participate in sporadic parts of the skirmish, but not throughout the battle as a whole.

Leaving the self-confessed smart Rheinland Military pilot to his own devices around Alster, we proceeded to our third and fourth waypoints without incident. As a result, we now have up to date information on all of the major Rheinland installations in Hamburg; Altona station, Alster shipyard, Vierlande prison station and Battleship Westfalen.

Here is the tactical data for the four installations.
Altona Station:
  • Four small civilian station turrets

  • Two large station turrets

  • Two small EMP turrets
Alster Shipyard:
  • Two small station turrets

  • Two small EMP turrets
Vierlande Prison Station:
  • Ten large station turrets

  • Two small EMP turrets
Six additional heavy weapons platforms, facing outwards in a horizontal perimeter around the station.

Battleship Westfalen:
  • Four Battleship Battlerazors

  • Four Battleship EMP cannons

  • Four Solaris Battleship cannons

  • Four Battleship Defense turrets

  • Six Battleship Secondary turrets
Additional Information:

Alster Shipyard appears to be producing ships at 110% it's regular peacetime rate, owing to the state of war between our nations.

The heavy battle platforms around Vierlande Prison Station output a high volume of relatively weak plasma projectiles which individually do little damage, but in their configuration are a force to be reckoned with.

Battleship Westfalen in orbit above planet Kiel is, in stark contrast to its peacetime state of disrepair, in perfect condition for war.
I would like to congratulate:
  • Admiral Hale

  • Commander Casero

  • Lieutenant Commander Corraine

  • Lieutenant Commander Malrone

  • and Ensign Stevenson
for their great performances deep in enemy territory. We really proved today that we can go in and accomplish our mission, even in adverse circumstances.

My beloved Liberty, this pains me and many who accompany me but it is a journey we must take. We need to leave this hive of corruption before we are consumed. The Navy has been making poor decisions lately, those that will come back to haunt our home. There are likely many infestations within our navy and government which we do not know about. How else can we explain the navy ignoring every Nomad threat that has been discovered recently. The war with Rheinland is wrong, and many know it. Few are brave enough to act however.

I attempted to open peaceful talks with the Order, something I thought liberty required to survive, for my efforts I was threatened with court marshals and treason charges. Several of my contacts withing liberty have also gone missing recently. Obviously something is going down.

The ThunderBay will still serve Liberty, however she will do so at her own discretion. We will not be held back by the Navy's orders any further.

To those left behind, I urge you to stay defensive. Question every order, question who you fly with and fight with. They may not be who you think they are, stay on guard.

*Salutes*
