This is Ian Thomas, Captain of the vessel LNS-Champion.
I realise that I have been charged with treason, plea innocence, and am under oath that I speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I'd like to begin by stating my record of events, correcting erroneous statements in LSF Agent Jack Norris' report.
The 'situation' began as I was requested for help in secure comms by Agent Norris, to which I immediately responded. Arriving at the In-system New York Jumphole, our AI systems decided our ship was capable of and willing to enter the possibly unstable Jumphole. I was the first to enter the Jumphole, encountering many fleets of Rogues and Tim the Enchanter. I, along with the others, engaged the rogues defensively. Some time after our initial engagement, with Tim not engaging us, I believe Agent Norris made the misconception as to fire on Tim by means of a targeting malfunction, to which Tim responded with plasma. I firmly requested the both of them disengaged and they did so. I decided that the area we were in, the badlands, frequented by rogues, was too hectic to discuss things. I asked that all ships were to head back through the Jumphole, and I was the first to come through, followed by Agent Norris, LNS Armstrong and finally Tim.
LNS Armstrong did continually make suggestions that we were of a higher rank than Agent Norris, to which I disagreed. After we jumped through the hole, an Outcast patrol engaged us. They were promptly eliminated. Tim then, spurred by Norris' and his own comments engaged. I directed them both to stop, and thankfully they did so. I noted no hull damage to either of them. It is worth saying at this point that I am familiar with the rogue. I keep him on a tight leash, should he not comply and stop any unlawful act he will be stopped forcefully. And in some cases his punishment is unavoidable. However, most times it is unecessary and he is sent away from the area. At this point, Agent Norris threatened us with paperwork and demotions, that "Paperwork will turn you into Janitors" and "Paperwork can have you killed". He flew to battleship Missouri, I asked him to stop so we can talk about the situation. Tim followed him also, under his own influence. Meeting the fire of Missori, he departed to slightly beyond the first West Point Trade Lane gate.
Continuing to threaten me with paper work, Norris faced me above the Missouri. In response to us allowing the rogue to approach Missouri, I had no chance to stop him. Some time after we had began talking, Norris decided he would 'punish' Tim for his inconsequential and majoritively accidental engagements with him. I urged them to stop, that the attack was unecessary. Norris proceded to attack, responding to my disengage requests with "Nope". I urged Tim to run, and he tried. He engaged his cruise engines, however Norris disrupted his cruise engines and promptly destroyed Tim. Returning to me, he continued his threats of paperwork and demotion. LSF Agent Wave arrived and observed, making the occasional comment, as well as an LPI officer who stated that the LNS Armstrong and I had always performed above and beyond the requirements of any situation, which I might note I often end peacefully. Hence my constant disengage requests. And my knowing of the rogue. Norris declared me a traitor, a perpetrator of treason, for 'befriending' a rogue. I replied that everyone is my friend. Norris then declared my intelligence to be of a childish level. AGENT NORRIS SAID that he "enforced peace by any means necessary" in response to my comment that the attack was unecessary. I responded by saying "Enforcement is a last resort. I prefer to negotiate" which any pilot knowing me can vouch for.
As for the actions of the Armstrong, I defended his actions with the following: LNS Armstrong did what many percieve to be the good thing - destroy the aggressor. He also disengaged when I asked it of him. I have been psychologically analysed (as any military pilot is) to have the highest level of morality. I asked what Norris had achieved, and if he had indeed been tested (and that I would love to do so).
The conversation later promptly ended (//when my stupid <profanity>ing Vista decided to do an update restart). Upon recovering my vessel (// and following much swearing at the computer) I promptly explained my predicament to the involved LSF Agents and requested we continue our conversation.
I request that Agent Norris clarifies his report to clearly state that my weapons stayed powered down at all times.
And as well, I suggest there are no responses questioning my methods of negotiation and peace over violence and aggression, lest I open up this channel's encryption to the factions that can tell you of my success in these methods.
That is all of the fact I can provide you with, if you have any questions, you know who I am.

I'll just add my two cents to what Jack said: Champion, I've never had problems with. This is indeed disturbing, and I would seriously hesitate to fly with a cruiser who's captain has shown such poor judgement. He should be subject to an inquiry and busted down from his Cruiser command if it's found that he was in the wrong.
As for Armstrong, that gunboat's captain has always been an idiot. Causes me trouble every time I see him in space. He was responsible for almost destroying every ship above Manhatten one time in collateral damage when we ran into a terrorist-controlled starflier drone carrying nukes. We had a whole plan for dealing with the nukes in deep space, and then he decided to screw it and shoot the drone right above the planet.
Why he hasn't been court-marshaled by now eludes me. It's ultimately up to the Admiralty, but if I had any say in it Armstrong's captain would be stripped of rank and ship.

Gentlemen, now ill be brief ,ive taken the best interest to ground both ships until this situation sorts itself. if its rescinded then so be it and although you Technically outrank me Captain,Naval Command Trusted myself and Lieutenant Jack Will to Make the Calls Pertaining to the Secondary Fleet,i have the approval and support of the [LN] Admiralty its only Tempoary and only my duty ive never had a problem with you but ive decided to make my duty bound call,Both ships are grounded till further notice.
to the Armstrong: i have the Full Support of a Medium Priority Distress Call at my hands ,in otherwords i can get anything from a wing of bombers on you,to the Durango's Battlegroup. don't let me see your ship flying till your cleared! this is your Only Warning
To the Champion: Diplomacy Can be as powerful as a thousand Ships, yet also as deadly as a Assasians Knife wield it carefully mabye you are a Traitor or maybe your not but that is the Judge Advocate Generals Call.
To Agent Norris: Watch your tone about the Reservists ,myself included were not all as"typical" as you think and i dont like being painted with the "idiot" brush. you migt of crossed the line with your threats,at the same time mabye it was purely self defense on your part but if an enemy withdraws let him go sometimes a better warning is a shot to hell ship then an emergency escape pod,add to the fact if you chase he may very well lead you into an ambush.
no offense to you but ive most likely seen more real combat then you probably ever will in your entire careerand i can garuntee you about half of it is Julia Wolfes Eyes only or Higher
here's hopeing this sorts itself

SUBJECT: Unlawful Gunboat Activity in New York on the Rise
To whom it may concern,
This is Recruit Pilot Micheal Vega addressing anyone who has been patrolling the New York system between the hours of 0400h and 0700h Sirius Mean. Over the past few days I have noticed an increasing amount of independent, Rogue, and Lane Hacker gunboats in the New York System. These vessels seem to act autonomously, with no known escorts. I have managed to run into three separate gunboats within the time frame designated; however, due to a malfunction on my craft's gun cam override, I have only managed to successfully ID one of these vessels for posterity.
The craft designated "Final.Frontier" was found in violation of LoL 1-1 (Possession of Contraband: Cardimine), 1-2 (Piracy: Tradelane Disruption with Intent), and 2-2 (Operation of an Illegal Vessel: RA-4 Rogue Gunboat). When the designated vessel was escorted away from the tradelane, the same vessel was spotted at the same location (disrupting the tradelane) only minutes later. A cargo scan was then done by a mercenary (
Evelyn.Foster) which detected the presence of Cardimine on board: Foster, seeing the potential threat, notified my flight group. At this point, the "
Final.Frontier" attempted to escape into the Badlands. With the assistance of the aforementioned mercenary and
LPI Sentinel Unit 302, the target vessel was neutralized and all cargo/hostages were retrieved and delivered to Manhattan for further analysis/debriefing.
Image: Confirmed Destruction
If spotted again the captain of the "
Final.Frontier" will most likely attempt to elude lawful forces.
Key Point:
Be on alert, New York... The criminals are arming themselves and taking advantage during the low-staffed swing shifts.
