My default patrol path unless assigned to a new location is to circle around the New York system and ensure no smugglers pass through. I had completed one such round of this default patrol when a fellow Navy member contacted me through my comm's. Telling me he had ordered a smuggler to stop. He said the smuggler had been carrying cardamine and that upon being ordered to drop it he did do so, Captain Walker then had his ship destroy the contraband promptly and called me to come assist and inspect the situation. He had decided to use the Alaska jumpgate to enter New York and Captain Walker had kept him stopped at Zone 21. Upon questioning him for the truth the Captain of the ship known as Slave Express told us that the slave in his hold was his wife and that he had saved her from slavery his information seemed sketchy at best so we escorted the potential smuggler to the nearest facility in Alaska where more precise interrogation would take place.

I was patrolling around the general area of New York and stopped at Norfolk Shipyard to relax and scan for contraband. While dong so I met Officer Moe on duty, we exchange chit-chat while scanning cargo holds. Several moments past and nothing peculiar took place, in fact everything was unusually quiet.
In a turn of events, Moe tells me he picked up a freighter with artifacts in its hold, so of course I accompanied him after said suspect. We chased them through Pennsylvania and till California, what started close to Manhattan and taken us through a jumphole and into the clouds around Willard Research station. The freighter possessed Ageira credentials, the first red flag since the LSF usually use their own freighters for sensitive transport, in the case where the transport is LSF owned they are entitled to exceptions. This freighter lacked such permissions, so of course we ordered him to jettison his cargo. Regardless of who was escorting the freighter, the freighter is not entitled to such exceptions in the law since he is not an official member of the LSF nor is he involved in any such matters directly. The LSF pilots told us to back off, that we were intervening in matters we had no authority in. I asked the freighter to drop his cargo one more time and he did not. I gave Moe the order to go weapons free and things got very messy very quickly. In the confusion the freighter was damaged rather badly but managed to evade and dock along with one of its escorts called Devastation. The second escort called Shadowy was too slow and was locked out again by Moe. Although we had engaged only the freighter the LSF agents opened fire on us, so we returned the same. Shadowy continued to defend himself but it was no use. He attempted to escape using the trade lanes near California minor but I was quick to shoot them out of working order and then turn to do the same to his shields as Moe lined up shots with as many of his turrets as possible. It only got worse for the escort fighter as he eventually dodged in the wrong direction and took a blast of turret fire straight to the cock-pit. His craft buckled and tore itself into debris upon the impact.
Despite the transport escaping we managed to recover and dispose of some of the artifacts and cardamine. The legitimacy of this operation conducted supposedly with full approval by the LSF is still unknown. But there's a strong sense of corruption that a case like this reeks of.

This is Ensign Ray McCoy,

04/28/823 - P1

I've undocked from Manhattan to start my shift and scan the assigned patrol route as planned. But I did not have to wait a lot before my scanners picked up an Order IFF Gunboat in close range.

I cruised up to the bandit and disrupted it, asked why he is where he is. His reply was that he had to go to Bretonia, and ignored my further demands to stop. Upon second disruption of his cruise, he started the engagement and I had to respond in kind.

Though my armament was incapable of taking down a gunboat, I had help from a secondary fleet gunboat who happened to be close. It didn't take long before we took down the bogey.

---

04/28/823 - P2

After a few rounds of patrolling around New York, I came upon another potential threat by Manhattan. It was an outcast heavy fighter, surrounded at first by a couple of LPI.

The LPI said they needed coffee and left the vicinity when I arrived in the scene. Apparently they had a chat, but could not bring it to a conclusion. So I picked up where they left off.

The outcast appeared peaceful, but appearences are quite misleading, so there'd be no way I'd trust the pilot one bit. The brief interrogation yielded that he's around to scan for something called nomads. But I bet the trading traffic was more worthwhile to scan for a pirate like his kind.

And nomads? Sheesh. They think they'll fool an officer with tales from children books.

In the end, I had to escort the pilot out of Liberty under a hail of fire. He was made aware that his second appearence in Liberty would result in a much more lethal action.

The last of my route led me to Detroit Munitions, where I didn't meet anybody.

This is Cadet Reed Icarus.

Within 10 minutes of undocking from West Point for my first patrol after my recruitment meeting, my lane to california was interrupted by a bandit (callsign snake.fist) in a Bayonet carrying an Outcast ID. I told him to surrender, but he declined, and suggested that it was time for me to die, instead. A navy dreadnought (callsign Aether.Fang) and an LSF fighter pilot (callsign blu.srbeam) offered their assistance, which I declined. Just before I broke the bandit's hull, he ate one of his own mines about 6 minutes into the encounter.

I resupplied and continued my patrol.

I came across the LSF pilot who offered his assistance earlier and we discussed pirate activity in the system, which was light. I spent the next half an hour in the Texas system patrolling without any encounters.

On my way back to New York, as I approached Norfolk I spotted Lt. Reeves. A Bowex Bretonian train (callsign Werner.Hopfner) went by hauling Rheinbier, and shortly afterward Lt. Reeves instructed me to follow him for escort duty. We met up with the ship at Planet Manhattan, which is when I noticed he was carrying an excessive number of Business Delegates in his hold. I informed the captain of the Bowex vessel that the legal limit in a transport ship is 650 passengers, and after a brief discussion he returned the unhappy businessmen to the planet's surface. He filled his hold with Liberty Ale and returned to space, but his pilot had apparently gotten into the cargo and drunkenly piloted the ship back into the atmosphere. Fortunately, the captain was able to take control and we escorted him to the edge of Rheinland space. He seemed concerned about the operational capacity of the Hudson>Hamburg jump gate, but I assured him that it had passed inspection and was safe for usage.

On our way back through Texas, I spotted a pirate in a Roc (callsign mr.nobody) camping next to the trade lane. After a brief exchange of words he literally tried to extort us for $2.000.000 credits, at which point Lt. Reeves gave the order to engage. Within 5 minutes we vaporized the Roc, with Lt. Reeves scoring the kill.

Lt. Reeves received another request for an escort and we returned to Hudson for the rendezvous. While we waited, we discussed our ship equipment and weapons loadouts. Once the dromedary (callsign VWA|WTS-Spartacus) arrived with a hold full of <UNABLE TO RETREIVE DATA, ERROR CODE 403 - FORBIDDEN>, we escorted him to the New York system. I spotted mr.nobody beside the lane between the Texas gate and Norfolk, and we sent Spartacus ahead to <UNABLE TO RETREIVE DATA, ERROR CODE 403 - FORBIDDEN> alone, turned back and engaged the pirate Roc. After another 5-minute engagement, I scored my first kill.

After resupplying on Norfolk, I noticed a Mammoth (callsign -FTS-Dolphin) with an unsafe number of passengers heading for Rheinland space. Once I informed him of the legal passenger limitations for transport ships, he cooperated and we escorted him back to Planet Manhattan. He then allowed the required number of business delegates to disembark, at which point I cleared him for travel.

Once the Dolphin was on its way, I thanked Lt. Reeves for showing me the ropes and ended my 2.75 hour shift at West Point.

Reed Icarus, out.

This is Cadet Reed Icarus.

Filing a report for my second patrol.

When I undocked from West Point to start my shift, I found Lt. Reeves standing by in his Avenger. After a short discussion we began a combat patrol through New York, and soon spotted an Orbital Spa and Cruise "Bison" transport (callsign SPS)-Misfit's.Grave) with a hold full of refugees. I informed him of the Trade regulations concerning passengers on transports, but decided to simply escort him to his destination to spare the refugees any further stress. Lt. Reeves agreed with this plan, and we escorted the ship to Rochester. The captain did not seem pleased, but he cooperated nonetheless.

Shortly after we left Rochester and Reeves resupplied on Manhattan, we spotted an Outcast in an Eagle (callsign: Lannister) and began pursuit. Lt. Reeves instructed the Outcast fighter to leave Liberty space via the Cortez system, but not far into California he veered off-course. We chased him into an asteroid field, he made a comment about our backup being gone (I assume a reference to the other naval vessels patrolling the trade lanes) and opened fire on my ship. Lt. Reeves and I made short work of him.

We then ran a patrol from Texas along the Liberty/Rheinland border through Hudson and Bering into Minnesota to ensure the Outcast pilot did not return. At this point, we returned to New York and ended our patrol after 1.25 hours. Nothing further to report.

Reed Icarus, out.

Commodore Hunter here.

After Commander Nagase, onboard Plymouth Rock, and the Bristol engaged a Rogue Scylla above the Detroit Debris Field, aided by a wing of fighters, I took command of the Ignition and linked up with the Maryland and a it's escort wing. What came next was...interesting.

Apparently, according to the rogue Monument-class Dreadnought Cinncinati, the Omicron Delta system has been a hotbed of activity form multiple factions, from our enemies to even corporations based within Liberty proper. Based on the reports of "Templar Ganes" myself and Maryland CIC have been told that not only are the Core and Zoners going at it, but the Order, Coalition, Corsairs, and Outcasts are all embroiled in conflict. Lane Hackers were also sighted, but in a non combative role. This is a mess, that apparently happened over...cigars?

But of more use to the Navy, is the fact the Cinncinati is damaged. From the mess of fighting in Delta, it has internal damaged, cracked manifolds, and apparently the command staff is out due to overtaxing themselves. If we have any problems with Auxesia, now is a time to seriously consider how much of a problem they really are.

Also: Lieutenant Reeves apparently has been going to Delta when off-duty to help. As he is adamant in resuming this stupidly noble notion, he will feed us intelligence from the sector, and give us a clearer picture. Most likely, though, I doubt we are going to have to ever worry about Omicron Delta, unless the reports of Detroit Munitions vessels being engaged alongside IMG and Crayterian relief convoys are true. Then, I fear, we have a stake there.

Then, the Ignition went to California and took out another Rogue Scylla alongside Cadet Reed Icarus. This new batch of Cadets are some of the best I've seen in the past few months. I see bright futures.

Let's not waste them.

Regards,

Alexis Hunter

This is Ensign Reed Icarus.

Reporting on the events which occured during my third and fourth combat patrols.

At 0130 hours I undocked from West Point and rendezvoused with Ensign Hirlerman. We headed for Pennsylvania and intercepted a Junker Frigate (callsign Orchestra) hauling over 3,000 passengers. I informed him of the Liberty trade regulations concerning passenger transport, and thankfully, he complied without combat. We escorted the vessel to Manhattan, where the Orchestra docked and did not return to space.

Shortly afterward, Ensign Hirlerman and I finished our sweep of Pennsylvania and headed to the California system. Waiting on the California side of the gate were two Hellfire Legion Guardians (callsign [HF]-Crimson.2 and [HF]-Stoneheart), who instructed me to pass a message along to HC. I impetuously offered to just get rid of them myself, and a dogfight ensued in which my Executioner and Ensign Hirlerman's Guardian were destroyed by Stoneheart. I severely underestimated his combat abilities; I assumed I would have the upper hand due to the Executioner's superior agility, but Stoneheart proved the better pilot. He mentioned something about not killing us because we were cadets at the time (This was shortly before our promotions).

Our pods were tractored later by a passing Navy patrol, and I grabbed some chow on West Point while I waited for a replacement ship.

I was back in action in time to meet up with Lt. Reeves, Ensign Hirlerman, Commander Burnet, the Plymouth Rock and the Bristol just as they vaporized a rogue destroyer above Detroit Munitions, with Commander Burnet scoring the kill. From there the fleet headed toward Manhattan, and I docked there for a break as I was not feeling well. I think I'm coming down with something... my late wife always called it a man-cold. Anyway...

I grabbed some soup and hot tea and was feeling a bit better, so I rendezvoused with the rest of the fleet and a rogue dreadnought in Kepler, with a Hellfire Legion cruiser lurking nearby. I'm not personally familiar with the conflict surrounded Freeport 11, so I mainly just stood by while the Officers had their chat.

Once the rogue dreadnought was allowed to leave, the Hellfire Cruiser disappeared from our scopes, and I followed the fleet back to New York. Commodore Hunter asked for volunteers to assist with hunting down a rogue destroyer (callsign DeathCollector) which was spotted in Liberty space. The rest of the fleet docked and I switched to my new Upholder before heading to the California system ahead of Commodore Hunter in the LSC Ignition.

I spotted the destroyer heading away from Planet Mojave into the asteroid field and gave chase. I was able to prevent their escape until Commodore Hunter's LSC arrived, at which point the destroyer opened fire and we vaporized it. I managed to make the killshot while the Ignition's firing crew was charging the main gun.

By this time I was feeling pretty well exhausted and ended my shift on West Point.

This is Ensign Reed Icarus.

Fifth combat patrol completed.

I traded in my Executioner for a Guardian and hit the lanes. I mostly saw transports violating passenger regulations, as usual. I levied a fine of $100 per passenger violation (Total, $409,000) to a Titanic (callsign US-Titanic) that I had warned previously. But it did get exciting later on...

Lt. McCoy and I vaporized an outcast tridente, then we attempted to locate an Order Hathor gunboat that was spotted near Rochester, but it cloaked and evaded us. Once there was no sign of the gunship's presence we resumed patrol.

Lt. McCoy spotted an Interspace Bison (callsign Ultimate.Investment) transporting Slaves while I was escorting yet another transport violating passenger regulations back to Planet Manhattan (callsign [R.D.]~kudrin-T). I was unable to obtain evidence of any wrongdoing on The Interspace captain's part, but I did witness him attempting to evade detention and saying he'd rather die than go to prison, so... there is that.

We investigated a report of a bandit nearby and spotted a Lane Hacker in a Scimitar (callsign Honey_badger) who we pursued but were unable to catch. Once the bandit was off my scanners I docked and ended my patrol.

Ensign Reed Icarus, out.

Greetings officers and pilots,

On a standard patrol through the New York system, a Independent Liberty Police unit(callsign Lance.Spot) sent a general message that a Liberty Rouge Scylla (callsign *applejack*) and bomber (callsign Hurena) were sighted patrolling the trade lanes in between Norfolk Shipyard and Fort Bush. I quickly assembled a small battlegroup with the attendance of ship callsigns Lance.Spot, [USS]Vengance, [LPI]-Thomas.White[RO], [LN]-Ray.McCoy, [LN]-Reed,Icarus, and the LNS-SanAdreas. The battle formation arrived at the target location and sent a warning call, then opened fire. The Rouge pair fled into Pittsburgh Debris Field where another Scylla cruiser of unknown callsign was waiting. After pursuing the pair, the heavily damaged Scylla piloted by callsign *applejack* was dispatched by stray gunfire from the unidentified Rouge Scylla and the bomber piloted by Hurena quickly escaped into the unidentified Scylla. I obtained heavy damages from the battle and experienced short term unconsciousness at the ending of the battle. As I started this report, an Outcast Destroyer (callsign OC-Shlizhac) appeared on the radar. The battlegroup was too slow to pursue and he escaped into the Jersey Debris Field. The appearance and escape of the Outcast concludes the report.

Off for another patrol,
Jason Hirlerman
