To whom it may concern,

Today's patrol started rather uninteresting, moving through New York and Texas to have a look at Bering and Hudson. Things started to become more interesting when I was informed an old acquaintance was present in Texas: Phoenix, an Outcast dreadnought. Hence, I quickly jumped into my bomber, trying to contact the First Fleet High Command for battleship support, sadly with the answer no capital ship would be available. Luckily, I was able to contact the LNS Warspite and its Captain Cleveland from the Secondary Fleet, and we quickly made our way to Texas to find him. It became apparant the Outcast didn't even try to hide in the asteroid fields, but just sat on the lane to Hudson Jumpgate, blockading the traffic.

With my bomber support and drawing fire on myself, the Warspite quickly managed to put Phoenix out of action. After that I resumed patrol, but nothing else that might be of importance happened.

[CommID]: Vice Admiral Michael Diehardt, Liberty Navy Reserve
[To]: Liberty Navy High Command

Good day,

As is shown in my personnel file, I was transferred to the Navy reserve short after the war with Rheinland had begun. The injuries I suffered in the war affected my ability to perform as an officer of the Liberty Navy and as such I was forced to retire from active duty. It was not a decision I enjoyed, but it was a necessary step. My health records will contain all the information necessary regarding that topic, so I will not bore you with the details.

My health has since improved, and I have, slowly but surely, recovered completely. This will be evident in the fact I have taken all the necessary physical and psychological tests again, with the results showing that I am fit for active duty once again. I have attended daily combat simulations and sparring sessions at West Point for three years now, and I am ready to return to the cockpit. While I have been relieved of the command of the dreadnought class LNS Mount Blackburn, the Navy-issue Avenger fighter is still in my possession.

With all that said, I hereby officially request to be reinstated into the active duty roster of the Liberty Navy, so I may once again be of service to Liberty and its people.

Reserve Vice Admiral Michael Diehardt

....UPLOADING FLIGHT REPORT....

Greetings Ms or Mr,
A routine patrol turned eventful today, as I undocked from Manhattan to begin it, and stepped into a confrontation between Commune Outcasts and the Navy. I had barely managed to arrive at the sight of battle before it was over, with all Outcasts destroyed, and a Xeno that had been battling them before out ships arrivals fleeing the system. Continuing my patrol, I recieved information of unidentified ships moving through California, and while I was not able to intercept and inspect the ships personally, I sent a Freelancer after them into the Taus to report what type of transponder codes they were flying, as none of the scanning software recognized the transponder tag BKV|. The Lancer managed to catch up with the ships, but could only confirm that one of the three ships in question was flying an Lane Hacker transponder, and was piloting a gunboat. I fear their may be a new group Lane Hackers moving through the border-worlds, while tracking the Hackers, the Lancer also reports seeing several Crayterian Warships entering Tau-37. Aside from these two incidents, the day was quieter than most.

It feels great being reinstated. Today was a successful day for the Liberty Navy, but also proof of my recovery.

Several hostiles were spotted in the New York system, including a nomad, and while some managed to escape, I participated in eliminating an Outcast Dreadnought and a Lane Hacker fighter with the assistance of the Secondary Fleet.

The Outcast vessel was reported to me as I started my patrol. After locating it, the Secondary Fleet did an outstanding job dispatching it quickly. All the credit goes to them.

Ending my patrol, I encountered a Lane Hacker vessel on my way to Manhattan - I had also received reports about it from a nearby Orbital Spa & Cruise liner. A fellow member of the Secondary Fleet was assisting me but he experienced some malfunctions with the on-board computers, thus leaving me to deal with the Hacker on my own. Needless to say, the enemy did not get out of the fight with their ship intact, while my Avenger only suffered minor damage.

I have attached the combat logs.

To whom it may concern,

During today's patrol of mine, I encountered a Council transport vessel, callsign "Alderamin" on the lane from Fort Bush to Norfolk. This already made me suspicious, so I hopped out and told him to stop. As it appeared, my senses didn't deceive, as I detected slaves onboard of his ship, additionally more than allowed on a regular transport. He was clever enough though to enter the Lane again while I was busy speaking to him. I chased him through New York and Texas, also with the help of a Freelancer, but in the end I sadly wasn't able to catch him again, as he frequently disrupted Trade Lanes. The next time I'll meet him, I won't allow him to get away from me so easily.

Greetings Ms or Mr,
It seems that everytime I launch for patrol the Outcasts are attacking New York. Today I counted no less than three of their Dreadnoughts, aided by a Rogue Destroyer and surprisingly, a Freelancer snub. The fight was drawn out and protracted, but ultimately our own capital ships managed to eliminate all of the enemy ships. My own ship sustained heavy damage while interdicting the Rogue after all but one of the Outcast ships were destroyed, the last Outcast managed to cloak and run for it. All told, there were more than 6 capital ships engaged in combat during the incursion, and despite losses on our own side, the combined forces of myself and Captain Diehardt, a bounty hunter gunboat, and the LNS-Mount-Hood, as well as two ships from the second fleet, were enough to pull through and claim the day. After the captain had rescued me from my pod, I resolved to be of more use in the seemingly endless capital ship assaults on New York space, and requisitioned an Upholder for my own use in the future.

While the Outcast and Rogue attacks are relentless, I would like to take this chance to personally commend Ensign Mark Felix for his outstanding bravery in the field of combat and his impressive resolve, immediately adapting to the requirements of the situation.

Needless to say, my day would've been a lot tougher without Ensign Felix by my side. Well done and may you continue to do Liberty proud with your actions.

Greetings Ms or Mr,
today's patrol started with the chase of a few Outcasts in Texas. Unfortunately we weren't able to track them down, instead we found a Ranseur and Outcast Sabre in New York. We quickly started hammering at the enemies and were able to destroy them. I've never seen a carrier shooting at a Sabre that's nearly scrap.
Anyways, afterwards I went on a patrol with Ensign Mark Felix and later with Captain Michael Diehardt. This part of the patrol was pretty quiet and I did only encounter two independent pirates. They complied and left the gate. That concludes my report,

Greetings Command,

today we had another Nomad force attacking Liberty. With combined forces we were able to fight them back and gather the remains. I had retrieved around 20 Nomad Fighter Remains and stored them on Long Island for further studies.
Afterwards The Ensigns tracked down a Hacker and engaged it, After Ensign Felix had to eject, I jumped in and helped Ensign Bishop out. After a while Me and the Hacker were force to eject due to our mines exploding directly next to each other.
That concludes my report.

Mayer out.

Signing out,
Lieutenant Commander John Mayer

To whom it may concern,
after my colleagues had been unable to tell me in time a Nomad invasion happened in New York, I've got words from fellow Ensign Mark Felix a Lane Hacker was on the way to Colorado Gate. Together, we were able to stop and interrogate him, but as he proved to be very uncooperative, we decided to open fire on him. He was able to severely damage Ensign Felix's craft. Furthermore, Lieutenant Commander John Mayer joined the fight as soon as Felix got knocked out. Thanks to him, we finally managed to shoot the Hacker down. Additionally, I learnt a valuable lesson on how to commit risky suicide actions from Lt. Cdr. Mayer.
