Technogeist is pretty terrible, actually. Also, I've managed to wipe the floor with Warans, Barghests, both using the setup mentioned above. I've done it everywhere. On the go, by the lanes, at a gate, in an asteroid field/cloud, near a station ( They didn't want to dock, and enjoyed the interaction ) Above the sun, in the Badlands, and almost every system that traders pass through. The only downfall to being a lone pirate: You're likely to get ganked. A lot.

Nothing wrong with that.

It's really upsetting :/. Would be good if we can make it so that trade ships that die in a system are banned from being in there.

They are, it's against the rules for them to return to that system.

It's just that, nothing is in place to really enforce this, pirates can't be bothered filing sanctions, and even if they want to, did they remember to get a time stamped screenshot of the kill? Probably not.

Also, you can only file one sanction per day, if I spend a lot of time pirating,(hours), I'll see like 5 traders re-enter the system they died in, there aren't enough sanctions to go around.

Oh my... There just aren't enough sanctions in the day... Big Grin
80% of the time I run into a trader on my Bundschuh, they simply attempt to cruise away without a word. I don't necessarily believe it's the Scanners that are the problem, it's the refusal to pay or even acknowledge the existence of a pirate.
Actually - it would be good if trade ships were banned from playing at all for like 30 minutes after a pirate kills them, they might think twice about trying to run...
Can we put this in perspective though? How many cap8 BS scanner battle transports do you actually see?

Uhh do we really want to remove interactions? I don't think this is a good idea any more than tempbanning caps after death.

Changed that for you.
I am literally seeing traders with Cap6 and a BS scanner everywhere now.

This isn't the problem.

If they wanna spend 900 million on armor, let them.

Just decrease base armor on all transports, and nerf the damn guns, or make em slower, so I can strafe and dodge more easily.

Seriously, how often does piracy even happen? If I trade or mine, I hardly ever see them, do we really need stupid OP transport guns?

I don't understand how this could be "removing interactions" when one just occurred, resulting in the transport's demise.

The complaint here is all about there not being many interactions between tradelane traffic (traders) and pirates in the first place. As it stands now, Piracy just isn't worth it because it's not failsafe like doing trade runs.
When I was playing a pirate last time with some pals, it was enjoyable and worked well, however we made it 3-4 of us most of the time, not alone.

I think, the problem isnt about guns/ships/scanners. Its up on personal behaviour and willing to roleplay here. I know, there are less players around than before, so devs/admins have their hands tied a bit, but the server needs a lot of boost to "force" people to roleplay here.

Piracy isnt something what is up to pixel money, its a way to roleplay a bad guy who cant be a used newspaper in the park, when traders meet with it. Flying away, shooting without a word, etc. is something what made me confused. I didnt want to send a report swarm to the admins, but if I say the truth, I had 3-5 people/trader every day, who pissed on the server rules.

Its not just a simple server, where you need to get as many pixel money as you can to earn the biggest upgrades, its something what made me addicted by the infinite ways of roleplay what I've found here.

I support honest changes in gameplay to make this server a massive roleplay server again.

Buddy, if you are not born to be a pirate then dont bother to RP one. This is not lane piracy, is lame piracy. All your post are wet. Cry. Cry Cry: "NO rp from traders, my poor bomber is sitting duck for whale gun etc. Pathetic! I saw you telling u are demanding 25kk from traders and you are wondering why the server traders chars are silent and prefer to die instead of RP-ing/chatting with you. Thats RP?? Really?? What tool for you the devs must invent to be good on lanes? Lost Battlestar, maybe?? Is lame to pirate in cap ships (ye, i know, server allowed it but i hope not in future), really, also is lame to ask 25kk SC. Remeber this: IS LAME! I like the balance from 4.87. Most traders are new commers who are trying to "move to next lvl" and to make monies solo asap. Nerfing their ships will be a bad idea becose your kind of pirates who talk with each trader in the same lame way "gime 10-20-30 mlions or die" is in already in charge now and will prosper in the future. You must be nerfed becose you are not RP-there. You just want easy targets and easy blue messages. If you want to improve the teamwork the solution is not you with a turtle sitting in a jump hole. Is to decrease mining bonus/server and increase it for miners who work in team to fill up a trans (more miners, more rapid) and add bonuses for convoys and escorts (more ships in convoy, more monies). Also, eliminate/nerf Hegemon (and equivalent class from all faction becose kill the team play). Nerfing Dulzian from trans turrets aint make ya a better pirate or a better rp-guy.
