Ok, my summer is almost over and I'm going to headed back to school. I have been playing Discovery on my laptop all summer, but when I get in the dorm again, I'll be using my desktop. My laptop will not have access to the network. Is there way I can transfer my account to my desktop so I can keep playing the same characters?
The quickest way I've found is to use Regedit at the command prompt. (Start/Run)
Navigate to the folder:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\1.0]
highlight the 1.0 folder with a single-click and choose "Export Registry File" from the "Registry" menu at the upper-left command menu.
Save this string to a safe location, then move it from one computer to the other via your favorite method.
Once you have the file on the target computer, right-click it and pick "merge" from the menu.
You're done! Your Multiplayer ID has been moved to the new computer.
Don't forget to export the new computer's registry sting first if you also want to preserve it's ID.
