I got FL dl'd everything for Discovery and stuff but I am having some trouble with the game itself even before I dl'd the FLMM and Discovery MOD I have trouble with my Video card Matrox G-400(The readme said there are troubles wioth this on XP) and I need to know if there are any ways to fix this problem, It makes the words on the menu selections appear and disappear so I cant see what to click to buy or sell things or to select weapons affeacts all Hud and menu's except for the NEW GAME button :rtfm:
Note: I do not know if I have the latest updates for the G-400 but it is a very old video card as well... :unsure:
The first thing i would do is see if your card drivers are the most up to date you can get, if they are not then best to update them and try again.
If worst comes to worst then it may be time to buy a new gfx card, but if anyone else can help him with this problem without forking out more money then all the better. I know a Geforce FX 5600 Ultra works ok with this (my old card) but i dont know the comparison of it to the Matrox G-400, and i dont know the going price of the GF FX5600 Ultra either, but it cant be all that much now.

SOunds like a problem I had... Cheek you OpenGL is uptodate... not sure how OpenGL affcts if as Freelancer runs off DirectX but once i Updated My OpenGL it fixed mine.....

Hmm, most close to your prob for now... I had a G-200 same prob , just updated the drivers. That fixed it.
well Geforce Cards have no probs in FL ATI Cards also dont have any probs in Fl maybe try one of those should u need too change the Grafiks card
If I dare do any upgraded I am just going to build myself a new pc I know what I am getting there top of the line me and my dad have combined hardware knowledge equal to that of.... some really smart people :wacko:
