After many years of flying under the banner of the Temporary Autonomous Zoners, Dr. John Holliday grew weary of the life. He proved himself as an administrator, organizer and diplomat but never saw himself as a good Discordian. Having been raised by Christian parents, it just didn't feel right after a time. Besides, he had accomplished all he could there and felt it was time to move on.

His passion was his Enterprise, his medical work, his research and in general quest for knowledge. He needed to keep his fleet on it's own and re-establish himself. He figured it probably wouldn't take long and so his quest begins yet continues as it always has only under a new doctrine.

Biography
He doesn't know how he got to Sirius or who brought him, he only remembered waking up on a table staring into bright, white light with little more than a sheet pulled up to his abdomen. He vaguely remembers human faces smiling upon him saying, “Gentlemen, we’ve done it.” Shortly thereafter, he found himself on Planet Pennsylvania with only the clothes on his back, two six shooters, a deck of playing cards and a card with enough credits to make his own way. To this date, he has never seen those faces again.

He knew who he was and had memories of the past. Where was this place? He didn’t remember people travelling so freely through space. He remembered a time past, a time where travel was done on the back of a horse and buildings were a great deal shorter. The six shooter was archaic but still, he loved his and wielded them both with deadly accuracy and speed. He had to adapt. He was a dentist and knew he could make money doing it. For weeks on Pennsylvania, he studied at the local library. My how things had changed. The more he looked, the more he wanted to expand his knowledge of medicine.

He set out to find his fortune in a freighter. He saw much and learned his way from place to place. He met people both good and bad and learned that he would need to talk in order to survive. On the ground, he was deadly. In the cockpit, he was vulnerable. These interactions would prove useful as he learned to talk his way out of trouble, using his medical background at times to exchange as a service to many who had no access to it.

Fate would cross his path with a man by the name of Malaclypse. He was a bit eccentric but after some time, the two men formed a friendship and “Doc” was invited to learn about Discordianism with his friend. It was strange for a man with a Christian upbringing but their friendship seemed to cast a shadow on faith and he joined the Discordian group, the Temporary Autonomous Zoners. It would be here he would find his fame and desire.

Liberty and Rheinland had just gone to war, leaving Freeport 2 in the Bering system in peril. Blockades from both sides prevented needed goods from getting there. It was a message to the Liberty government that broke this, a message Doc wrote, that made supply of the base possible. For John Holliday, it was when his good friend, Malaclypse said to him, “You, Sir, are a diplomat.” He was given the post for his new group.

As time went, Doc would find himself sought by many for his diplomacy. He mediated disputes beyond his own people. He found respect amongst even the mighty Corsair Empire. Combining diplomacy with the delivering of humanitarian aid, his reputation grew. He would settle on Gran Canaria as his home and in exchange for lecturing on dentistry at Cambridge Medical Institute in Bretonia, he studied internal medicine and pediatrics rather than take payment. He worked hard, trading to pay his way and as he traveled, he had a vision.

People didn’t always have access to good medical care, especially in the far reaches of space. The houses all had major facilities and were accessible. In the Omegas, Taus and Omicrons, that wasn’t the case and a man with a simple gunshot risked death without proper care. With the help of friends and donors, he converted an old Nephilim Dreadnaught into a mobile medical center in that could not only treat the worst of patients but could do research in robotics, nomads, science and more. It would become the first ship to bear the name of Med.Force. It still to this day remains in Omega 49 so that work may continue on undisturbed.

Commander James Haddock, a former Liberty Navy commander, operates the ship. The medical and research staff are from all over Sirius and Gallia. Doc himself spent much of his time at his Tombstone Estate to be close to things. While there, he would marry the former Midori Sato and have three children. In time, he would create two more Med.Force ships, two Corvo cruisers, the first commanded by Rheinland/Liberty mix Sarah Coyle and the other commanded by the Bretonian Alicia Cook.

Although no longer married or living on the planet surface of Canaria, he resides in his personal quarters of his flag ship, Med.Force.One. When not there, he takes refuge in his small camp in Planet Erie.
He no longer leads the Temporary Autonomous Zoners, deciding rather to focus on his medical work. It is for that reason he is seldom ever found in the diplomatic arena. After the former Council of Zoners and Zoner Alliance collapses, he had enough.

Most recently, he felt that he couldn’t continue his work with his former group. With hostilities escalating and the winds changing, he needed to be on his own. He expanded the private enterprise he often only spoke of, Med Force Enterprises.
Finally, he found the time and courage to do it. Some thought he was overreacting, some felt he was abandoning them. For Doc, a man with few friends, it was more of a calling.

So now he works on his own with some old acquaintances and friends giving support. Still, he hasn’t forgot the many who helped him. Members of the former Zoner Trading Consortium, Omicron Supply Industries were still people he respected. Junkers were also people that gave favor and of course his good friend who is administrator of Freeport 6 in Tau 29.

Doc’s resolve remains the same to this day. Providing hope where little exists.

Ship History: The Medical Hospital Vessel Mercy is a type "Aquilon" Zoner Carrier. Commissioned in early 743 A.S her first use was to assist in Zoner colonization efforts. Completed in 751 A.S. 18 months ahead of schedule she was immediately deployed to help supply aid to various colonies and outposts throughout the Omicrons. In 770 A.S. The Mercy was re-deployed with 2 other Carriers and 3 Colony vessels to help secure the Zoner hold on Planet Gran Canaria. In 772 A.S. she was decommissioned from active status and resumed her Omicron Care Routes. Recently Isaac Nemo, an adviser to the board for OSI, has taken a special interest in humanitarian efforts in the Omicrons and has dedicated a substantial portion of his wealth to retrofitting the vessel with the latest of medical technology. The vessels retrofit added a substantial number of medical, dental, and physical therapy offices throughout. While Isaac Nemo funds the operation the vessel itself is Commanded by Dr. Chris Zoellner.

Bonjour Dr. John Holliday,
considering your dealings with parts of Gallic nobility I guess you were not expecting contact from a Gallic Corporation.

We have a ship, |IDF|Aide.Medicale, with a volunteer crew who seem to fit your requirements. Details are lodged at this point http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=107729 and has been operational in the war zones for a considerable period of time, http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread...id=1440123.

As part of our growing corporate responsibility programme we would be pleased to donate the ship and allow any of their dedicated crew to follow. We would be honoured if you except this action to improve the potential humanitarian aid your endeavours could provide.

You can imagine the calibre and quality of a this crew that has already chosen this path when part of a warring nation.

The liner has been fully fitted as a mobile medical facility

It has patient facilities comprising 60 intensive care units, 150 standard care beds, 4 palliative care suites and 8 category 5 isolation suites with additional xeno containment modifications at research level specifications. These are manned by a full complement of medical staff including surgeons, doctors pharmacists and nurses.

Full surgical and diagnostic facilities are available and include atomic force microscopes, NMR, GCMS, a range of radiological and holographic investigative scanners and PET detectors. Full isotopic discrimination facilities and a full set of biomedical research laboratories with full spec medical microbiology, neurological, clinical biochemistry, medical genetics, immunological, haematological, histological and pathological research laboratories.

There is a medical complement of 450 staff, 40 research scientists and a further support team of 550 to run the ship, galleys and logistics associated with a vessel operating to standards equal, or in many cases superior to a standard ship of the line.

Have had several chances to talk to you, most of them were in unfortunete circumstances but my subordinate do require further trainings and seminers in general medicine and biology. The Spartan Class Jinkusu was given to me by Commander Jarvis who had spent his entire life defending Freeport - 9. Now, I harbor it under my shipyard, In orbit of Planet Tirane. While you mentioned quiet a few conflicts with what your intentions are as opposed to mine, I am after all - humane, even If my discourse is different then yours.

Sparta has a dedicated "field hospital" in the first floor with the following departments

To: Monsieur Joseph Pomeroy; Mr. David Dvir; Dr. Chris Zoellner

Greetings, Gentlemen!

It's an honor to meet your acquaintance and even more so to receive your information. It's nice to know that there are people out there sharing the same desires and dreams as I do. I have another rather eccentric doctor that has contacted me privately but I will give him the same courtesy as I will all of you.

Monsieur Pomeroy, it is indeed a surprise to hear from Gallic space, at least, from a corporation friendly to the crown but I welcome it nonetheless. It is no secret that I've had my problems with Gallia. Perhaps if we work together, we can help each other. I have yet to contact the crown but if I wish to provide service out there then I will need to. Might you be able to assist me with that? It might make my life a bit easier if a reputable Gallic medical asset was willing to work with me.

Mr. Dvir, I see this as a chance for us to grow in a more positive way. I have one of my ships, [MFE]Med.Force.Three under the command of Alicia Cook based at Freeport 9. I would be honored to be able to train your staff and get to work with them. I have faith that we can work through our differences. It could be an example for many others to follow.

Dr. Zoellner, I like your ship lay out. If you are in the area of Gran Canaria, the pride of my fleet, [MFE]Med.Force.One is there. While I fund it and often work it, it is commanded by James Haddock. I think we will all get along rather well out there.

Gentlemen, I'd like to meet with you all if possible although I see a central location being a challenge. We could make some doctrine and figure out a mission. With our abilities combined, there is much we could do for Sirius and Gallia.

I await your responses.

Sincerely,
Dr. John Henry Holliday
CEO, Med Force Enterprises

Sadly, I may not be able to attend meetings beyond the omicrons or Omegas, Unless my board of directors approve of this. I may be in charge of things, but I am also bound to the responsibilty to the safety of my crew.
I am sure proper security measures can be made for other individuals who are not in particular fund of our lovely ( and, wild I might add ) place. I've granted your personal neural network transponders access to my facility, if you wish to be more familiar with the place. If the guards insist on inspections, give them a plate of biscuits - they are lazy and hungry, but loyal. I'll be monitoring this frequency for updates.

Dr. Holliday,

The Mercy's mission takes her to quite a variety of locations. Currently we are moored at Grand Vista Orbital under going resupply. Our operational area is almost unrestricted provided we gain proper clearances from local military authorities if we are entering or passing though House Space.

The staff has read of your accomplishments and are eager to work with your organization. Additionally I personally am excited to assist in a much larger effort. I look forward to our meeting.

Dr. Zoellner

Bonjour Dr. John Holliday,
we will use whatever influence we have to expedite your humanitarian aid in Gallia.

However, I am sure that will not been needed, we as a people are not heartless and I am sure your organisation will be recognised for what it is and welcomed.

The ship we mentioned should also cause little problem as it will be handed over to the crew for them to designate and use as they see fit if accepted under your umbrella.

Gallic vessels whilst not common are seen in much of Sirius and the trade based vessels have no technology of a secret nature if captured. In fact the major blueprints have already been shared (http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread...pid1250754) with some corporations so the Crown will not worry about that.

The ship also has only two light weapons for meteor destruction purposes, guns with no real military value.

In any case Gallic vessels also have little known about fail-safes if they ever fell into the wrong hands.
