Hi there.

Seeing as I am a noob ( on the forum anyway), I have a dilemma. So I was in my unlawful cruiser, outside of house space, and a military guy(also in a cruiser) poped up and stated that he wants to talk so I approached him. Now the dialog was like this (almost, don't remember the exact words):
Him: Let's talk
Me: Okay, let's
Him: Your business here is over
Me: What business is that?
Him: I was afraid you would say that

And then he started shooting me, and me being close to him in an asteroid field with a less powerful loadout I got killed.

I know he didn't break any rules, but my question is this: Was that good rp? Was that enough? Cause i got the feeling we should have done more (on his part anyway, I wanted to pursue it more).
It's enough, however I'm curious what you mean by "Outside of house space".

What ID did this guy have? What ID did you have? What system did this take place in?
Obviously it is not cool.
Better luck next time. :/
That depends really, his saying "I was afraid of that" to your, "What business would that be" can be construed as him taking your words as refusal to leave. He said "Your Business is done here" which sounds like him telling you to scram, yet at the same time, that is a bit weak. Yes, he should have done a bit more RP especially if your a noob, that being said, if your a noob, take my advice that few new players ever do... and keep clear of anything larger than a transport. having caps means your a big target, being a new player means you wont know how to handle them in RP theoretically as well as try getting a feel for the server and its inhabitants first. If you wanna run a cap, join a faction, work your way up in the ranks, and earn your ship and reputation. don't simply jump in the mix, buy a cap the first chance you get and go pirating. speaking of, your new and running a pirate cap.... Yeah, your asking for trouble with that.

I'm not saying all this in malice or with ill intent, just some friendly advice from someone that's played for going on 4 years now. This place can be fun as well as maddening, there are people out there that want nothing more than to ruin your fun for their own enjoyment. There are also people out there like myself that love RP and the thrill of flying by the seat of your pants, not knowing when or where you will get shot at from next. Have fun, learn a bit, then and only then, should you think about caps. Maybe find yourself a nice gunboat or something a bit more agile that that lawfuls ship.

Safe flying.
He had the right to shoot me there (as stated in his ID), as I said he didn't break any rules, the only thing that bothered me was the low rp. When he said "Lets talk" he was a couple of k away so if i wanted I could have ran, but his words made me think that some nice rp would come out.
Oh and I quit on caps, fighters are on my mind now. ( transports of course)

P.S. : Thanks for the good advice Jo

It may have been enough (pseudo) RP to be within the rules, but of course this is not what could be considerred as "good" RP.

Don't take it too hard, on this server you will find plenty of players that provide much more satisfying and (for both) enjoying RP then what you've experienced this time.

Like in real life, most people are nice, at least ok and just a few are "jerks", and after a while, some practice, even some of those "jerks" might become valuable members of the society/community.

Till then let's do some more mining together (I'm the GMS guy) to get you the cash for a capital armor upgrade Wink

Drop me a line when you're in the mood.
Just a suggestion if your thinking Transports...

BISON

Its a beast to begin with and a cap 8 armor upgrade loaded with Charons (Or Dulzians if you want faster fire rate) will only make it deadlier. Charons are low fire rate heavies, they take a while to reach the target and are slow to refire, but when they do, they hurt. Dulzians are about twice as fast in fire rate though only slightly lest than half the damage, so they are a good alternative to charons if your wanting to it fast buggers as they hunt you down. I personally run a Cap 8 Charon Bison as My PLR Trade ship, this accounts char is it's captain.

Safe flying.
Bison, yes, that is a a sweet transport. Too bad I can't use it as a freelancer. Guess I'll have to join a faction then. Thanks for the info Jo.
Hey

Was that good rp?
Of course not.

Was that enough?
In my opinion it wasn't enough. That palyer should make damend that you leave that system (or he should try to escort you to prison) if he was lawful police or navy officer there.

You see all that he want was clear path for his trader to suplay PoB or to sell ore.
And you were on his way.

We have some players here that are leaders of fractions and will play same way that you just described it.
Some of them posted here before me.
They will just say you are nex target and engage you, be sure to make prt.screen.

Also we have Admins here, they will tell you if others did eough RP or not.
You just have to make report in right section.

ps; Bison is nice ship, but it will always be killed if you meet good pirate in bomber or in Pirate transport.

My advice to you for trader ship is that you don't need to be gready and go for max 3.6k cargo transport like Behamoth or BWT or pirate transport, also some smaller are excelent, like Geisha, Mammoth or Bumblebee..ect.

Smaller ships are harder to hit and with good CAU they are deathly.
small transports with small cargos really give people a good bonging Smile
