The Hogosha Association's Neural Net Channel

On the station where you are, you head to the communications center, and approach one of the terminals. Accessing a discreet neural net portal written in kusarian, you plug a data chip to the terminal which begins to interact with the digital portal.

The interface changes appearance, and a form to input a user id and password appears. You put your id, and reading from the paper that an associate gave you recently, you input the new password.

The interface recognizes the credentials, and the last check appears. A sentence in kusarian appears, and it asks for an reply under it.

You know what the sentence means, and your knowledge as a Hogosha has provided you with the answer.

The interface changes again, and now you can see the network of the Hogosha Association, a flow of information of reports and information spread by the associates about events and actions made by the Hogosha all over Sirius.
You look for some intel you were searching for, and prepare to give your own.

------------------
[This is the message dump for all associates of the Hogosha Association to report all important events they wish to share, from reports of activities, to decisions made by syndicates, to requests for information and contracts.

The Hogosha Association members have read/write access to the channel.

Additionally, certain individuals outside of the Association may be granted read only access to the channel. These are indicated below.]

Yaa, good day everyone, Adachi here. How's everyone?

...
What do you mean, "who the heck are you"? Mind your own business, pops.

Anyway, for those who don't know, our friend Haruna-chan from the Hizoku caught up of some scheme by some freelancers to pass by some Kusarian credits to Junkers by selling some quality materials to shipyards, without revealing their less than legal association with those outlaws.

Don't know how long they wanted to keep this a secret, but they were found out, and Haruna sent a message to the authorities about the case, which was provided to us too.

Keep an eye out for those guys. They might be carrying legal stuff, but the details are very strange. Find out if they aren't transporting junker garbage, or worse, the Junkers themselves with them.

That is all for this one, see ya next time.

*Sipping on an imported beer, Adachi is finishing making his dinner as he turns on the recorder.*

Yo there, good evening as the civilians around here say. Adachi is here once again to tell you some good stuff.

*He finishes preparing the cabbage stew, and puts it on a plate.*

Would you believe that you can find some good cabbages in Trenton's market? Would you believe if I told you they are shipped form Denver? I bet you believe they cost 80 credits a piece.
Ahh, cooking at home was much cheaper.

*takes a sip of the beer*

Even the beer around here is bad. I would tell you how that Liberty Ale really messed up my stomach, that I was having cold sweats and hearing otherworldly voices while at the controls of my ship. Fortunately the Navy didn't questioned me, and I have found a kusarian supplier of Rheinbeer for a substitute.

*taking another sip.*

Right, let's get on to what matters.

As you would expect, New York is crawling with these lowlife peasants everywhere, being clueless of how economics work, and dedicating themselves to small scale express shipping. Guess USI leaves a big market sector to the small guys, and focus on the big transportation.

Liberty Navy has been very active in recent days. No wonder, since they're supposed to be in a war state.
However, many vessels are relegated to policing New York, even large Carriers and such.

Of course, reason for that was the Rogues being pretty active too. That made the police carry around big guns too.

---------
So, on one day I went to check that installation that I heard about. At close reach from Houston, this Tinkers Heaven place (1) from where those guys come out.
Didn't see any of them passing around, so I went to search the nearby sectors for any of those guys.

Didn't find any, but found some scrappy joints in the fields. One was giving bad readings, but I could identify it as a Beaumont Spire. It was smoking, and the name was weird, even for Liberty. Only later I realized it was some sort of annex for this Beaumont Base, which definitely reeked of Junkers.

A zoner was in the area, and told me of the Navy being a bother to big ships and Junkers in equal measure. I would find out why later on.

-----------

New Yorks has a new station near Manhattan, although it might be just over-development of orbital estate.

--------------

Met a Samura from KTA, callsign KTA|CV-Ryuusaki. Quite a boisterous chap, annoyed at some "Feizu" mercenaries, and very volatile. Caution when dealing with this guys. I bet they don't do much risk assessment in their company. We talked at length about various things, and he wanted to show me something around Area 21. I played dumb and cautiously followed him, looking to how far this guy would test the ever present navy patrols in the system to wipe him out.

I've met one of these Faze pilots. Seems they're some sort of celebrity bounty hunters in Liberty. Can't say I have heard much of them before arriving here. Most likely the very one the KTA guy didn't like.

Also a freelancer called Aya.Koizumi . What picked my attention immediately was that she was flying a Black Dragon fighter. Asked her about it, told me she was ex-hogosha, coming into Liberty for freelance work. Seems a pretty weak revenue source, so I promised to keep her in touch for some tasks later on.

-------------

At Manhattan orbit, while talking with a Naval pilot called Henderson, a scrapper came by, loaded with a stock full of the Corsair stuff.

The Junker didn't react to the infuriated Henderson-san, and even when it came out a few minutes later with a full pack of Liberty Ale, it was quite numb to the pressure the Navy officer was putting on him.

Obviously, that meant he was opening himself up to a world of pain.

I wiped his pitiful escape vessel as he was ignoring the Navy guy, and the onlookers didn't seemed impressed by the swift termination of the criminal. Guess they used to vigilantes and bounty hunters applying justice everywhere in Liberty.

I guess that Liberty Ale was tainted by the junker stench, so I simply sold it at Trenton for some credits.

Konnichiwa. I have been sent up to the Nagano system after one of our ships reported seeing damaged Samura ships coming from Tomioka, with some holes that seemed to be more than just rock impacts on the hull.

Initial surveys of the system revealed nothing, and I was about to call it a day, when the men at Shibukawa mentioned seeing some Junkers passing by from time to time.

Since they were likely coming from some nearby place, I followed the information of the Farmers, as they are more used to the region, and headed to this... Freeport 10.

Wouldn't you know, there was a Junker there, designation JM|-Scrap.Hammer in some sort of big fighter.
Of course our conversation got tense, and I wasn't able to muster a response about his presence there before some buffoon called Argo decided to intervene.

Junker recycler
1

That the Junkers would try to buy off some poor sods to make their dirty deeds show that sometimes Junkers care to avoid putting their filthy hands in every turd of a situation they come upon. What I wasn't expecting was that poor sod was flying some sort of armored transport with a cloak, and decided to "to cash in on the various Junker bounties for them!" with a barrage just 10 meters from the Freeport.

1

The Argo wasn't an issue in the ensuing fight, but the Junker was flaying missiles by the dozen, or just about every time he could turn that ship of his.

Admittedly, I wasn't able to counter that, and eventually those missiles did their number on my fighter.

1

I return to Misaki in a miserable condition, but not completely defeated. I hope the information provided will be useful to counter this menace in Nagano and surrounding regions.

"Honestly, what were those guys from Nagano doing, to let the Junkers come so close to our space?" *he mumbles as he closes the transmission.*

Konnichiwa, Shimoe here. Work assignment by my boss sent me scouting Galileo and Kepler for supply bases for future operations. We located Poena once again, and communications were open with them again.

I was then to head to Denver and contact our associated there, who arrange for the Libertonian artifact dealers to receive our shipments. I was to bring some samples for them to evaluate.

On the way from Kepler, I've met this oddly bright freelancer, who at first seemed just watching the traffic go by.

I struck some small talk with the {AFC]-Turbo.Charged[P] , about some coming holidays and what not. But when I start to make my way to Denver, he seemed opposed to the idea of me staying long, and finally blurted out something about a bounty on my head?

[Image: ChJdZuEs.png][Image: YwUDcC9s.png]

While I obviously wanted to know more detail about this bounty of his, I had to to take an evasive stance, for I had little desire to fight this guy on the open.
He was dangerous, sporting some powerful weaponry, but my Black Dragon performed very well in evading his aim, true to my vessel engineering prestige.

I tried to assess my fighting possibilities near the Battleship Rio Grande, but in a short moment the garrison decided to start shooting towards us. Mostly at me, I wager.

The confusion of the combat presented an opportunity to escape, and before my pursuer was aware, I slipped away on the lane to Denver, a second before it was disabled by the Battleship cannons.

I arrived safely at the planet, with no immediate sight of him following me. I ejected the artifacts midway before I arrived at orbit, lest they become a nuisance to subsequent negotiations.

As the Senchou always says, "a Hogosha always has his hands clean."

I urge all associates to take extra precautions when near one of this {AFC} guys. They showed little to no hostile intentions before, and I am not sure if the bounty is something active in Liberty, and for how long.

Good evening associates, Hebishima here.

On the past evening, I was hired by Samura employees for some escort duties to Gallia. Yuto Nagatomo-sama on the Samura|-Wakayama and his escort Samura|-Koriyama met up with me on Yokohama Shipyard, were the honorable Lady Black of the Silvereye Dragons joined us as well.

[Image: 1yUuLhRs.png] [Image: KjMzZxjs.png]

We departed to Lyonnais, making a small stop at Misaki. The voyage went without problems.

We arrived at the orbit of Planet Lyon and waited for the hosts. I took some time to explore the markets in the surroundings. Seems the major export of this region are the Blue Diamonds, that can be acquired either planetside, or from the Unione Corse installations.

Speaking of Corse, they were the ones that Samura came to visit at this border system, and arrived a little late in my view.

Raoul-san abroad the [UC]-Calvi was the representative for Commandant Picard, possibly one of the leaders, or the leader himself. He was escorted by a [UC]-Garde.de.Corsis , and led us to Gleize Depot, where negotiations advanced between Samura and Unione Corse.

Lady Black and myself made some proposals and suggestions to the Corse too, and they seemed interested in collaborating with us as well. As I was only on guard duty, I didn't extend myself much beyond just advertising the opportunities in place already.

We returned to Misaki with the escort of the UC, and from there on our own to New Tokyo, where we said our farewell to the Samura envoys.

[Image: HZ3Iz8Ys.png] [Image: eJ5yJ75s.png]

It was a good promotion stunt for the Hogosha Association I guess, and we should increase our works with Samura and with our own representations abroad.

Konnichiwa fellow companions of the Association. I believe its the first time I have presented myself here.

In the recent days, I have been making some works in preparation of the coming meeting. Got my hide on the controls of my trusty vessel and proceeded to deliver some supplies to the Corsairs, mainly Kyushu Rice and a fine shipment of Tottori Rum, from Planet Miyazaki. The Corsairs were thankful (and drunk) for the gifts we have brought them, and in return presented us with their collected artifacts at the customary low price.

On the 2 runs I have made there, one of them ended up on Kabukicho for our own market and redistribution, while the second one was delivered at the artifact dealers working with the Association at Planet Denver, in the Colorado.

For the return trip, I decided to visit the Poena outpost, and see if they had acquired anything worthy and unusual.
I managed to get some interesting things at some steep prices, but that would give some profit margin. Got some Vodka and Holotainment Bands for the Golden Dragon Casino, and some Med-Stasis Bands to sell on New Tokyo. I also had to complement with some interesting software from the neighboring Ames Research Station, to drop at my stop at Kabukicho.

At the Golden Dragon Casino, I loaded up on a new shipment of Ammunition that had been sneaked out from Liberty borders, and proceeded to New Tokyo system.

When I left Kabukicho, I had almost sold all the goods I had found, and headed to Tottori with a more consistent cargo hold.

Business are good, and I hope that they will improve when new methods of cooperation are agreed at the coming meeting.

May the Fortunes secure your path to greatness.

So hello there, my hardworking colleagues. Guess your day job goes well in the land of the "Sons of Kusari", as they call us around here.

Now, if I had a one credit transfer for each time I hear a passerby exclaiming some variation of "You're pretty far from home Hogosha.", I would be one of the richest men in Trenton, at least.

But let's head on to the news of today. A lot has happened, indeed. Very good stuff.
-------------

So, Trenton and Manhattan started calm, with a Navy officer on watch to count as the only traffic.

Soon, the merchants passed by, with some loudmouths uttering the phrase I mentioned before. Then came a Junker (1), but he keep face in front of the Navy. Guess they getting better at holding some sort of "reputation".

Then a Liberty Rogue showed up, and suddenly LPI and Navy forces came pouring in. They were to take him by escort outside of Liberty, but some bounty hunters came in, and things started getting interesting.

[Image: FAKNVxVs.png] [Image: xK6a44xs.png] [Image: 4S8LxIus.png]

One of the freelancer hunters was called Zettsu, flying this horrible piece of equipment called a Recycler (1) by the rust sniffers. Apparently he and another freelancer wanted to claim the bounty on the rogue, and the LPI on the scene were very lenient, and handed over his detainee to the hunters, who proceeded to make minced meat out of him. Guess that's what private police does to the law.

Then the Junker, who watched this, started annoying this Zettsu guy, claiming that he "stole" the eyesore of ship he was flying, with he flew with very good skill. The freelancer retorted that he had bought it "legitimately" from one of them Junker salesman.

[Image: T3KFT7Qs.png] [Image: gDUIB8Vs.png] [Image: xVrMBHCs.png] [Image: JZcn83vs.png]

Then- the-the J-j-j-Junker asked for his receipt *pft*, and c-compl...

*Adachi almost falls to the ground, giving out a roaring laughter as he remember the event.*

*After a while, he manages to calm down, and resumes his story.*

Heheheh, ahem. Can you believe this guys? A Junker asking for a receipt of a Junker "store". Comedy gold right there. Don't know why OS&C doesn't just hire them all to be entertainers at their liners, and end this pathetic excuse of "scrapping for junk".

The Junkers were complaining a lot to the policemen, literally begging leave to shoot the bounty hunter in front of them, while having just extorted 5 Million from the same pilot, some sort of licensing fee or fine.

Anyway, they rambled on and headed somewhere else, while I got distracted by an Order agent spreading rumors about Order deserters in Pennsylvania or Texas.

As I'm investigating this story, I arrived at Norfolk, where the Navy patrols find a Rogue Destroyer in the distance, with an Outcast (1) in tow.

[Image: fWwvOhus.png] [Image: inNCxr8s.png]

Navy and LPI arrive soon, followed by an entourage of mercenaries looking for a good pay and a better fight.

In comes our protagonist Zettsu, and soon the JM too arrive at the scene.

A second Rogue destroyer arrives, and soon the Rogues and outcast engage the collective of Liberty forces and most mercenaries. I have little against the Rogues, but I decided to give some incentive so that the Outcast was dealt with in a timely fashion.

---------------

After this Rogue assault, where all criminals were destroyed in exchange for a Liberty Battelcruiser and a few mercenaries, attentions turned to the situation developing near  Battleship Missouri. JM once again complaining to the LPI about the Junker vessel.

LPI officers attempted to mediate the situation in front of an increasingly large crowd. Junkers claimed the pilot was flying under police transponders, and flying a ship "not able to be bought by non Junkers", while Zettsu claimed that had paid for the ship once (and twice a few moments ago), and that was enough for them to drop the subject.

They didn't dropped the subject, and the LPI gave up on the case, allowing the 3 Junkers that had gathered up to warm their weapons against the lone wolf.

At the same time, some freelancers asked me if I was being troubled by the Junkers. Sensing an opportunity, I told them to stay close "and assist the law forces should trouble occur".

The Junkers, free from their obligations towards the LPI, engaged the freelancer, which skillfully dodged the aggressors. Junkers managed to raise the alarms on the  Missouri and Norfolk with their reckless shooting, and the Navy patrols intervened.

The opportunity had appeared in front of me, and the Junkers had slip up. Claiming that the Navy needed help, I requested the mercenaries to expel the Junkers from the area, hopefully taking some heat off from the Zettsu at the same time.

A pair of freelancers, Strielok and Lt.Jack_O'Conner presented their services, and were successful in making the Junkers lose their prey, although they got burned down as a consequence. Zettsu however, managed to escape, not before taking down one of the Junkers himself.

With the Junkers actions thwarted and without a single shot fired, I sent my regards to the mercenaries and to the fugitive, praising their work in our benefit.

I returned to  Trenton, where I met this lady who was to marry soon, and had the particularity of being a mute.

Hopefully, I will manage to find some jobs for our young lady Katherine, as well to our new contacts here and there.

An enjoyable day, quite a surprise for this rotten territory they call Liberty.

Now, I need to get my dinner ready... ah dammit, forgot to pass by the store to get some more cabbages...

Hiraku was on an medical office, his head and an arm bandaged from wounds, and you could see a burn mark on one of his legs. His face was marked with fatigue, and his eyes still retained a hint of red, a mark of his wounded pride.

"My boss... my colleagues. Today I have failed in my duties. I have failed to protect our home, the home of many dear friends and family. Even greater shame is to have loved trough this shame without having made our enemies bleed a little for my defeat.

Calls of distress... of disturbances on the lanes came, and soon I launched my fighter in search of the cause.

I looked north, and Ohashi was clear, just like a calm day. Traders were traveling along the lanes heading to Liberty, but once I returned to Junyo orbit, I see them coming back in haste.

The reason was a Blood Dragon raiding party. A transport and one of those fighters of the Chrysanthemums (1) (2). I took some offense on the shouting one of the Dragon pilots was making, as much as their presence threatening the flow of the citizens near our home. I hesitated to engage immediately, in the vain hope that there were some coppers or Navy lads coming soon.

They came, but not the ones I had hoped for.

A freelancer arrived at the scene, one called Zettsu. I recognized him from the Association talks, so I asked him to lend a hand on the problem for some money. But soon after came two Liberty Navy Bombers, who identified themselves as "LSF" and were in contact with the Dragons on the scene.

[Image: 1GDw8JZs.png] [Image: DUIEVhUs.png]

Outright treachery, right in front of my eyes!! This dragons not only refuse any rule that it isn't one made by them, but are also becoming spies and mercenaries for the barbarians of the Capitalist Liberty Navy.

I needed not to hear any of their drivel, as ones were clearly the threat of the Kusari, and the others were the vanguard of these Nanbanjin. They needed to be expelled and purged.

[Image: JYzq4Xls.png] [Image: GfJebyPs.png]

I shouted my battle cry at the Dragons and aimed for the head of the of the Dragon fighter, with the aid of the freelancer. However, in my rage, it took me a while to realize that the LSF pilots had crippled Zettsu, and were already in my tail.

The the fate of the battle was sealed, and in vain I tried to prolong the coming of disaster, in hopes of dissuading them to go further. But they struck me with their powerful weaponry, and what was my fighter suddenly turned into a ball of molten metal around my pod, heading fast to Junyo orbit.

I would have burned on entering the atmosphere, were it not for my luck that the release system activated and ejected the pod from the remains of the ship. A freighter of our friends picked me and headed to planetside in haste, before the agents could approach the planet and cause more trouble.

..........
As I have heard, they came closer to our home, whatever their evil intentions were, and went even further, into New Tokyo, with their Dragon lackeys.

I have learned little from today's lesson, other than the shame of not being strong enough to protect my homeland. I do not care if the Naval Forces fight for an Emperor or a Minister, if the Police can get the Dragons and send them to Fuchu, or if the Dragons have to ally with foreigners or not. All I know is that they will discard our people to suit their interests, and we must rely on our forces, on the people forces, to defend ourselves.

Enough... enough of this drivel. You have your information, and my shame. Make whatever you require from it, so that it may not happen again.

Hiraku Shimoe signing off."

Subject: New Berlin operations commence

Konbanwa minna-san. This is Tatsujin Kirei, speaking from New Berlin. Recently I have been dispatched through one of our front companies to Rheinland, where I'm to take residence and inform you of events going on there.

A small flyby to the area of New Berlin orbit, and I've found right then some interesting facts. The first was a pilot flying under the designation VWA|Martin.Scharf , which identified himself as a Bundschuh and a fighter against the Rheinland Government. Records indicate that there is indeed some unlawful groups under this Bundschuh name and the relative calmness towards me indicates that they aren't a ravenous bunch of pirates, unlike the rotten sort of other regions.

We engaged in conversation for a while, me indicating my presence in Rheinland for the first time, and he describing some details of their struggles. While I don't intend to mess with whatever political balance there might be in Rheinland right now, we might do well to get more information and see the possibilities for limited trade.

During our encounter, a Junker convoy came in, 2 Salvagers filled to the top with Cardamine. They seemed a little surprised for my "out of place" presence, but I was more surprised by their relative comfort in bringing clearly illegal goods so close to the Rheinland capital. I believe that the Federal Police works tirelessly to stop smugglers, but the numbers the Junkers have here might be too much for them to even dissuade such overt violations.

[Image: IDTQ5lWs.png] [Image: glRFqcFs.png] [Image: CvbVoACs.png]

I've already sent the intel to the police, and continued my talk with the Schraf-san of this VWA group. He seemed to agree on a aversion to Cardamine, and while claiming that there were honest men amongst Junkers, he recognized that the ones we saw were endangering his home.

Perhaps I have met the wrong person, or that the Outcast influence here is small enough, but it seems the Junker sympathies of other regions are not so well established here. I shall try to get a better assessment in the next weeks.

Tatsujin Kirei, mata kondo.
