________Getting Started________

If you received this, congratulations, you have been accepted in the ranks of the Hellfire Legion. This is the pilot's handbook given to new recruits, spend some time reading it as it contains a lot of information that will prepare you of what lies ahead.

You are one of us now, it is your duty to become a useful asset that will help us attain our goals. In return, The Legion provides food, shelter and an almost-normal life within Vespucci. Your first objective is to study our assets, diplomatic agenda, our operations, and our goals.

________Master Yourself________

First things first, you need to learn about our home system before anything else.

Monterrey: The place you should be right now, a hollow planetoid, heavily shielded and modified to house a large number of people and manufacturing facilities that produce and maintain the Legion's fighters and other small crafts. It also has massive cargo storage to stockpile supplies for future use. Your squad leader has requested a Prosecutor or a Cutlass to be assigned to you along with the necessary equipment.

Dreadnought Ravager: The Cerberus of Vespucci, safeguards our home from invaders as well as provide the Sabre fighters as an alternative to the Prosecutor, should the pilot need it.

America Base: A station that serves as a trading hub of the Legion where allies and other sympathisers are able to sell, buy or donate resources, all imports and exports go through here and for this reason it is the HQ of the Logistics division.

Planet Guadalajara: A planet that has been settled by our colonists, they are consisted of liberated slaves, ex-military pilots that resigned, civilians, Xenos, refugees from Bretonia etc. Its primary defense is a jamming field to prevent enemy scans on the planet should an invader manage to slip in. A docking ring is in the plans for construction in the future.

Planet Iridescencia: A beautiful yet deadly planet that remained unexplored due to the harsh environmental conditions, stay away from it and the only reason for you to remember it is because of the Humboldt jumphole few clicks from it.

You are now well informed of your new home, Legionnaire.. almost. Due time you will learn of our greatest asset which is classified, prove yourself loyal to the Legion and you may find it one day.

The Hellfire Legion has two groups, the secondary which you belong, and the primary, their ships use the [HF] tag. They form the core of the Legion's fighting force, as well as handle diplomacy and governance of the Legion. You should never be afraid to contact them if you require assistance or have any questions. If you decide that the secondary group is not good enough for you, you may request a transfer in their ranks.

________Diplomatic Agenda & Contraband________

Now the most vital part, know who your friends and enemies are. By friends I mean the Mollys, a group based in Bretonia who we have deals of every kind, they are a good bunch. Our other friends are the Red Hessians in the Rheinland-Omega part of Sirius, and while we are separated by a long distance, we have a solid partnership. Our closest allies both in terms of distance and relations are the Xenos. We got each others' back and they are vital to ensuring the success of our operations in Liberty. Treasure them!

Now the other important part on our diplomatic agenda. If you see any ship belonging to the Liberty Navy, Security Force or Police and our latest addition the Gallic Royal Navy, you shoot it until it's dead. Your life depends on killing him before he kills you because they won't show you any mercy. The other parties you should be wary of are the Liberty Rogues, the Lane Hackers, the Outcasts, random pirates, bounty hunters and definitely the Junkers. They are all parasitic elements that mostly harm innocent civilians, something we do not condone and they should be shot on sight. We've added the Bounty Hunters in the parasitic category, as they prey upon organizations such as the Hellfire Legion, Blood Dragons, Hessians, and Mollies as well as simple pirates. Make them bleed.

Keep an eye on the cargo of all freighter and transport class ships, as Cardamine, Slaves, Artifacts, Nox, Synthetic Marijuana and Liquid Cardamine are considered contraband and should be destroyed. Except for the slaves, you free those.

________Operations________

Patrols in Liberty are staged from Ouray in the Colorado system, they are small and provide information before a large-scale operation takes place. These operations are usually a mixed Xeno-Hellfire battlegroup lead by their respected leaders and usually end up in chaos. You should avoid partaking in one if you do not have confidence in your skills.

Other operations are often organized in the California, Cortez and Humboldt systems, which mostly have to do with Rogue cleansing, slave liberation and purgification of their slavers who are mostly Rogues and cardamine shipment interception.

Remember! Our top priority during an operation is the safekeeping of the civilians, give them a helping hand whenever you can by escorting them to their destination, but you should not move yourself too far from our influence. As a rule of thumb, once they leave Liberty's border worlds they're on their own.

________End of Introduction________

//Please do not post in this thread
________Combat Manual________

As a Legionnaire you will often find yourself in some sort of conflict and it is your duty to perform exceptionally in each and every one, we are here to provide you the necessary knowledge in doing so.

________Picking The Right Tools________

Ships

Liberty is a vast, powerful and much plagued a House. Picking the necessary equipment will guarantee your survival and the operation's success, but first you need to know the equipment you have at your disposal.

Hellfire Legion Prosecutor:
The standard VHF manufactured by us, it is designed to excel in skirmishes against isolated targets, but it's large size makes it increasingly less useful the larger a battle gets. The vessel has very high agility and is often limited more by the pilot's skill than by itself in a duel.

Borderworlds Z-series Sabre:
Before the introduction of the new Prosecutor into the arsenal of the Hellfire Legion, our pilots were using the Sabre. Designed to perform in the hostile enviroment of the borderworlds, the Legion utilized this ship's design against the Liberty forces and emerge victorious from most confrontations. It is a better alternative to the Prosecutor in large scale battles, but does not perform as well in smaller skirmishes or duels.

Civilian Bomber Waran:
The Waran heavy bomber is used as the primary bomber within the Legion, purely for its immense firepower despite its size. It is used mainly during skirmishes and accompanied by several fighters to lay waste to isolated capital ships, however, prolonged action is certain to be fatal for the Waran.

Borderworlds Bomber Cutlass:
The Cutlass is a medium bomber, designed for the borderworlds. While it does not have the firepower of the Waran, its survivability is substantialy greater thanks to its size and maneuverability. It is the alternative to the Waran..

Hellfire Legion Inquisitor Gunboat:
Another ship manufactured by the Hellfire Legion to perform in the frontlines . The Inquisitor is a heavy gunboat designed to perform in every role, anti-fighter, anti-gunboat or anti-capital. It packs enough firepower to trash anything with ease and its high durabilty along with its maneuverability, it makes it a very powerful ship in our arsenal.

Any other ship has been found inadequate for the regular operations within Liberty and their usage is left entirely on the pilot’s opinion.

Weapons

Judgement series:
A brilliant weapon design from our R&D department.. The Judgement series is designed to deliver powerful ordinance to its target and it comes in two options, the 5.88 and the 2.00 variant.

Retribution series:
A weapon designed to deliver a lethal amount of damage over many, weak shots. It is the recommended system for every Legion fighter due to its easy usage in all sorts of combat situations.

Flamberge series:
A weapon designed to deliver a lethal amount of damage over many, weak shots. It is the recommended weapon system for every Legion fighter due to its easy usage in all sorts of combat situations..

Imp. Debilitator series:
An energy pulse weapon designed to deal heavy blows on the enemy's shield. Every fighter must be equipped with atleast two for best performance in the field.
________If you can dodge the wrench, you can dodge anything!________

As the title says, this section of the handbook is all about dodging. However, since we cannot make you understand purely by words, the drill instructors have prepared a tutorial footage describing the Prosecutor's strengths and weaknesses and how not to be an easy target in large scale fights.

________Survival________

Despite your efforts you will find yourself in a tight spot, whether it concerns your own survival or your comrade’s. The key to staying alive longer than your opponent is to manage your supplies wisely. Mines, cruise disruptors, countermeasures, nanobots and shield batteries, monitoring their usage within the group is the key to survive any battle.

Scenario:

Your wingman is under fire and is taking heavy damage in a very short time and has lost all of his nanobots. You have reinforcements on your side arriving in a few minutes and you are certain you will survive long enough with your current supplies, however your wingman is dying and you need to think fast. What do you do? The answer is:

You do not give him any nanobots. Since he lost his way too soon, you will only be wasting your nanobots, keep them and survive until reinforcements arrive.

However, if your wingman was capable of holding his ground and stalling for a longer period, if he asks for nanobots you have to give you at least 50% of your current amount, if you are both certain you can get out of that tight spot that is.

________Priorities_______

Target prioritizing is a very important task usually performed by the group leader or by a designated pilot. Bigger threats, be it in the form of an enemy ace or bigger ships are to be targeted first by every pilot in your fighter wing, however, capital ships require heavy firepower to be brought down and your wing leader has the responsibility to judge that.

If you’re against a variety of hostiles, Liberty Rogues, Bounty Hunters, Liberty Navy, Outcasts and so on, you target whoever has the numerical or skill advantage first, if you are certain that you can finish off the rest afterwards. Criminals are our No. 1 priority targets in a mixed engagement as their actions involve harming non-combatants and they must be eradicated.

This is everything a recruit needs to know in order to survive in the field, so read it carefully and don't skip any parts..
