Zenith

Zenith is an organisation within the ranks of Kusari Exiles. They serve as an intelligence, recon and diversion branch for the Exiled army, reporting to nobody but the Emperor himself. Current operations are kept extremely classified, so not much is known about where and what Zenith do. Rumours have it that the operatives are sent out on lone missions, swiftly meeting objectives and returning whilst the authorities are still wondering where their recon patrol has gone. Such missions are only capable by Zenith, standard training cannot compare to the level of which is expected in the special forces. If you're looking for a challenge, you've found it.

History

Amidst the panic that ensued after Gallia had revealed themselves, there were few that managed to keep cold blood. The remaining forces of Bretonia desperately tried to defend what was to defend, the Naval Forces retreating only to discover they had nowhere to return to. And in the middle - the Gallic armada. An invasion caused by ambition and mistrust, guided by curiosity and driven by the lowest of emotions - fear. They were monsters.

“They’re everywhere. We can’t stop them. We won’t survive a day. Everyone will die. I hold my ground, but there’s no end to them. Everyone will die.”
—BAF Ensign James Taylor at the day of the invasion.

The appearance of the new entity in the Tau War caused a massive shift in alliances. The army loyal to the now exiled Emperor came to terms with Bretonia essentially overnight. There was a bigger threat to face and they had to unite against it.

“If you too fight those creatures, we are allies.”
Queen Carina I to Emperor Jien Kogen, privately.

Zenith was commissioned soon after the Gallic push into Bretonia. At first their influence was limited and they were a strikeforce responding only to the Emperor himself. After the first colonel of Zenith was assassinated, [Silence] assumed the commanding position. He quietly began to eliminate less competent agents, replacing them with more skilled ones. Many of them disappeared in strange circumstances, killed, poisoned or just missing. Rumour has it that he was the one who executed the first colonel.

Under his watchful eye, the Imperial Army secret service flourished into a powerful intelligence and research division, with best pilots and agents. Zenith was given a free hand in any of their operations and a permanent base at Battleship Yamaguchi. Now, almost half of the warship is restricted only for the secret service agents.

But, despite his outstanding ability, [Silence] is not the only person in command of Zenith. A true gray eminence is often behind his back. A secretive type, never revealing their face, a person about whom the rumours are the most reliable source of information. [Curse].

“No one will hear your scream. But feel free to start.”
[Curse], to a captured Blood Dragon

Nobody really knows where [Curse] came from. Some think it’s a freelancer that was defeated in battle, some - that it’s a defector from the Naval Forces. But those outside of Zenith summarise it shortly: “psycho”, “maniac” or - perhaps most accurately - “a demon from hell”.

Personal data about every agent is kept top secret, if kept at all. New Zenith recruits abandon their past, their families, even their names. They’re people with nothing to lose. Failure means death, no exceptions.

In the present day, Zenith acts as the sole intelligence gatherer for the Emperor - and the Exiled Fleet. It is no longer a small squad of skilled pilots and aces, but a whole battle group of highly elite men and women. Zenith boasts a large array of vessels, varying from Sabre Fighters to Modernised Cruisers to stage attacks and operations from. Intelligence has been taken to another level, an elite one.

Double Cross

• Name: Double Cross (XX - ダブルクロス)
• Tag: /Z/-Callsign-[XX]

The Double Cross squadron is the elite fighter squadron of Zenith. Commissioned by the Zenith Major [Curse], the Double Cross assist the main Zenith assets on the most dangerous assignments. Whilst the main Zenith forces are more focused on gathering intelligence, the Double Cross are often used as a quick response - high alert squadron used for attacking in nearly zero odds of success.

Capital Ships

Shangri-La - Kusari Destroyer
A highly advanced, modular Destroyer Shangri-La is the flagship of Zenith. A relatively new design, it's built on the frame of the Kusari Naval Forces Takeda-class destroyer, however is equipped with much more efficient armor plating and a cloaking device. The blueprints for the ship were brought in by Zenith engineers and the construction was conducted on Le Boulou Outpost in Roussillon.

The data on Shangri-La is classified and little is known about her purpose or operations.

Fubuki - Kusari Destroyer
As Zenith operations grew by the day, one Monday a young captain came to the recruitment officer of the Zenith offering something that the Zenith could not deny. A destroyer class vessel KDS Fubuki, a destroyer that was one of the spearhead capital ships in the Bretonian War. During the time before the Gallic Assault in the Tau systems, the Fubuki's battle group was devastated by a daring attack by the Armed Forces Admiral Charles Davis - leader of the Leeds Defence forces. The Fubuki managed to creep away from the scene with loss only to her captain. She was placed under repairs and her crew in the hospital wings on the Kure Shipyard.

The Fubuki was put back into service after the Tau war had ended, however her XO was not put in charge of the vessel. Instead, a new Captain, who the previous XO thought was inadequate for this position, was placed in the command role. While on patrol in the Tau-29 system escorted by two gunboats the XO and his crew staged a mutiny, severing comms, the Captain could not send aid request as the ship fell under the control of the rebel crew. The XO ordered the ship to cloak and flee from it’s escorts, however her cloaking device was damaged due to the fact it was new technology to the engineer, who had not been taught how to use it. Eventually, after a few days of roaming around Tau 29, the ship picked up comms from the nearby Nagasaki. After explaining the situation, the Fubuki moored and was later transferred to the Zenith to aid in their operations. Zenith plans to fit the Fubuki with long range scanning equipment to track hostile movement in Tau 23 and Kyushu. The Fubuki will also be used for general scanning of systems to keep the archives up to date.

Afterword

Zenith is a relatively new faction, and for that many of the RP plans we have are not yet completed, however many of the things we want to do require a bit more "power" - mostly the ability to impact the game world. We still are working out the details, but many of the plans for these RP endeavors are complete. We hope to bring Battleship Yamaguchi back into operation after a good few years of sitting collecting dust.

Our biggest oorp goal is to bring activity to Taus and Kusari - for now the only ones that see any sort of it are 23 and 37. We want to change that and get other factions going as well - KNF, Samura, Kishiro amongst others. We have since created an Exile Chat on skype for the HCs of 343 and /Z/ to both work together to shape the Exiles future and where we want them to go. So far we have come up with some really appealing ideas for them which would not only benefit us but other factions as well.

Exiles lore is pretty much blank canvas, which gives us a lot of freedom in shaping the faction and we want it to turn out as best as we can. We really hope for support in this and would like to create something big on Discovery.

Emperor's Kempeitai? I liked it so far. All the time since the KE was added to the mod I was awaiting for Official faction appears. But well, no one didn't end all the stuff up. I hope you will pass this path. I wish you the best of luck guys and hope to see you ingame.
Seems to early guys, imo.
Oh well, good luck.

This.

But anyhow. You've been doing pretty well so far. Good luck
- Cheers for the words, we are going to be trying our best to get this Officialdom. We're getting help back at the moment, all the things we want to do we need Official for. I can't specify right now because I love surprises.

- Whilst we are a new faction, we believe that if we go for Official early we can start doing the things we want our members to be able to do when they log. I hope you know where I'm coming from, thanks.

Radical Pretty much same as above (:
When may we expect the cash to be taken?
(Pardon the question if it already was, but I cannot really check).
Since I see you guys more often flying Black Dragons (though I may just be seeing the same people, not sure) rather than Chimaeras, is this going to be explained inRP? Perhaps contacting the FA/Hogosha/Samura regarding their acquisition? Or even moved to a main ship?
I'm fairly sure that the general consensus on Exiles using Hogosha ships is that they're in a way our ships as well. I mean, Irezumi is sold on Nagasaki. We might, of course, resolve that iRP but in my personal opinion that'd be a wasted effort since Exiles already have 100% on Hogosha and FA tech.
I am still sure iRP message won't kill you. Doesn't mean you have 100% you can use it non-stop. For example BAF would "kill" LN using Dunkirk.

Anyway, I had just nice encounters with you.
Quote:For example BAF would "kill" LN using Dunkirk.
LN get 90% on the Kirk and it's not sold on their respawn base though. Also attempting to contact [|] might be problematic.

We will figure something out though.
