4. Why is this request necessary for the continuation of this character's roleplay?
Following the current habit of being all over Sirius, he tends not to rest on one place, so decided to have a base of operations or somewhere he could call home when not on call, but to also fund this, he needed a ship capable of being highly armoured and able transverse deep into omicron space so he could do contract work for “friends”.
But because of a current dilemma of construction with Renzu and the BDM, we might have to RP this ship being flow to its current state to Schatten with the use of a Spec Ops ID since the ship currently can not be flown with a Freelancer ID.

5. What short-term and long-term goals are you planning to achieve on this character?
Short term goals are to fit the modular experimental engine inside the Liner for a test bed for a new cruiser design, since the engine is known for being not safe to a scale of “Boom Boom”, the BDM have agreed to test it on the liner.

Long term goals include: Hired work for resource gathering, Scouting and observation, private research including weapon R&D and small scale weapons manufacturing on board the ship, possible RP hacking and computer stuff. And to also upgrade the liner with high end components such as Battleship scanners, high end armour, latest computer technology, cloaking devices and the best gaming graphic cards that Sirius has to offer. As well as stuff you do at home regular like watch T.V., ironing, play games.
But in a possible later roleplay, friends that have disappeared from him might possibly return and use this as a base of operations to continue a long term RP, if not, he will continue to use this ship as an undercover spy ship to be used all across sirius for the intentions of the BDM.

In game, he's been wanting a liner based off the way Joshua Hunt (Vendetta) had his, a home and moving research lab. At breaking point after a suggestion by aerelm he finally wanted a liner. He never settled down on the base and decided to purchase a liner he can modify with components by pushing the limits of his ambitions. He contacted an old lab friend Volker Koch who is now Kommisaroberant of the BDM about a prototype engine and power plant. Forming an agreement (That later became a official job placement within the Buro) to be undercover operatives for him while still supplying him with certain materials. Then contacting the Renzu Corp' to construct a liner with specific modifications to allow high-tech hardware to be installed. And a shag pad for certain activities.

8. How long has this character been building its backstory?
For the aim of producing a prototype research/mobile home liner has been going on for almost a month, the character of Enfield and 'Zeal' has been around since November 2nd 2013.
The ambitions of a liner has been around a week before my encounter with aerelm. (January 18th 2015)

The ships progress of being modified is slow, still waiting on deliveries from various parties, the use of the ship how at its current state is somewhat effective, but limited. Only sticking with small recon of systems while remaining undercover, and passing forward information to the Buro in incursion raid; Such as enemy ship information and intercepting communication. Its also being used effectively as a house, mainly inviting guests over for slices of pizza while still keeping other parts of the ship secret from prying eyes.
There are no further plans for any more equipment to be installed until both the prototype Power Plant and “Metastability” supercomputer have finished testing stages and are used permanently on the ship.The ship has had a little change of plan, its position as a future forward base and electronic warfare ship is still being considered due to its vulnerability in the field, but considerations of a laboratory being built on this ship for a forward research area for the Omicrons sector are being discussed.
The ship has fulfilled its role without the use of prototype equipment. Instead using technology available on the market to conduct recon across areas of Sirius and command itself as a mobile base for the Buro when in need of a covert docking ship, this role will continue while Enfield is under the ranks of the BDM.
Enfield has made himself quite comfortable in the Liner, already smoking the place out with cigarettes and pizza. More or less, he's made himself feel like he's at home, although still being lazy about chores, he still hasn't gotten around to ironing his uniform.
This ship is also used to meet certain parties under the noses of the Buro, the security, maintenance and engineering crews keep to themselves and have been personally told not to disrupt Enfield unless he requests their presence.

(unfortunately things have been slow for the past 2 months, regarding A + AS Level exams, busy time for me and an upcoming holiday.)
Currently, the liner is in a mobile operational state, the stage regarding the prototype engine hasn't come around yet, due to the Junkers still not yet completing the delivery. (One commodity remains, unfortunately no NPC's carry it and is sold on a single base that the junkers can not reach unfortunately.)
The incident concerning the Kidnapping of the AI 'Zeal' had forced Enfield to monitor the Omicrons and try to find ways to get her back, coming to breaking a deal with a group that still holds its anonymity, yet has shown that they hold the missing piece of 'Zeal's core programming (Her emotions! :O)
The Supercomputer had finalized its construction and is awaiting use its Electronic warfare programs, but awaits a high powered radar system for it transmit such critically damaging programs into other ships.
Although multiple projects are underway such as the soon to be established Einherjar Super-Soldier program, the Liner now houses new residents such as the Newly ranked Lislie Curero, Siren Stone and a temporary guest of Kelly Hellion.
Although things on this haven't been staying loyal to the Buro, ranging from supplying the Crimson Cross with various legally gained video games, transporting and taking Nuclear devices to the Lane Hackers and also dealing with people linked with Nomadic supporters, and even housing a kidnapped Order agent. Crazy days eh?

4. Why are these changes necessary?
With things starting to take pace, lots of research into alternate and multi-fuel power sources have gone into full effect, finally producing large scale prototypes ready for field use and to test the stability of enlarged nuclear breeders. Although its secondary purpose was shown to produce Thrudium which when stabilized within the breeder reactor can be used to make high yield atomic weapons or boost the reactor in its SaF process. People generally like keeping stockpiles of war-materials. But due to the equipment that is currently mounted on the Liner the previous commercial styled reactor was insufficent, this reactor will help greatly with keeping up with any future installments of hardware that might come into line without worrying about any power loss when it came to the smaller H-fuel reactor, which has been moved off as an auxiliary reactor.

But with the new reactor installed means that a new main engine system needed to be installed to, this too was a prototype that may be installed on later ships made by the Buro and needed a field test. Installing their latest prototype onto "The-Zealous" would see if the large scale models would be successful and reasonable to use compared to the MOX reliant VP series of engines since the newer HNP series of engines would allow for multi-use fuels that may be encountered on longer travels.

The ship also received a big system upgrade with the arrival and full capability use of a Quantum & Binary supercomputer scaled to an entire deck and sealed off to high ranking and selected personnel. This has multi-role purposes such as running simulations, electronic warfare capability, decryption, application hosting and scientific project designs and an accurate prediction machine and with the arrival of the HTTB-1, the supercomputer hasn't been fully optimized or used within peak capacities due to energy limitations, rendering electronic warfare capabilities limited until now.

The ECM jammer (OPTRA) that was installed uses Visual light and Energy as well as adaptable wave-bands to jam any potential targets and to increase the Electronic Warfare capabilities of the vessel, but also shrouds itself for Counter-Electronic-attacks using the same system. This is a safeguard for the vessel if there is any instance that it would be able to attack our counter-attack any attempts that are coming externally from the ship. All of this is powered and controlled with the "Metastability" supercomputer to run all electronic attacks and disruption methods.

4. Why are these changes necessary?
This ship now has 2 large scale reactors installed. A high powered experimental prototype called the HTTB that takes full advantage of Thorium-MOX that has been up-scaled from its original design in the future prediction that further experimental technologies will be tested on the ship and a higher supply of power would be required to meet a possible demand. By undergoing a process called SaF, its able to increase its power output in short bursts when the demand is needed, for example if weapons demand higher output in a combat situation. (Although no weapons capable of maxing demand have yet been installed.)

Another that was previously the standard J-Series commercial reactor fitted to support almost all the systems previously found on the Liner has been changed to work along side the new prototype to specifically supply the on-board supercomputer which in turn handles most of the electronics. The reactor can now support that system alone since most of the load for other systems has moved to the HTTB type reactor. And to handle heat levels, a cryo-cooling facility has been installed to control heat levels on the ship while maintaining stealth capabilities against enemy detection methods, The ships electronic and power transmission systems have also been upgraded to handle such levels without large cases of catastrophic failure.

The hyperspace scanner is a combined part of the previously installed Omni-Purpose transceiver and radar array (OPTRA) which is used for defense & detection, environmental and electronic warfare which also works along side the "Metastability" class super computer which is able to handle all sorts of heavy loads and computations. The increase of the power core should allow it to function and also gives the ability for the ship to conduct deep space scans of the environment while fulfilling an agency purpose of obtaining jump co-ordinates of systems for easy travel and incursions; specifically the omicron region.
