I'll be recording key points of the recent Omega-3 conflict between the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Independent Miners Guild.
For the full involvement. Bretonia's forces included the Armed Forces, Core vessels, Maltese vessels of unknown sect, a defecting group of colonials "CRN". various freelancers and mercenaries. The Independent Miners Guild was supported by the Red Hessians, Order, ALG, and the main colonial movement. Various involved parties either as onlookers, various sidings, or political influencers include The Gallic Council, Auxesia, Rheinland (Actual involvement unknown), Gallia (Via scouts), Liberty (via scouts, possibly from Navy forces), Mollys, Zoners, Ingenuus Research Group, Coalition. Various smaller parties and singular people have been involved but their association is unknown or unimportant.
Due to the loss of Southampton from the Gallic warfront invading New London, Bretonia was out of key military shipyards to service their larger vessels or construct additional ones. Their eyes went to Aland Shipyard, a fairly sizable station owned by the Independent Miners Guild. To given knowledge, Bretonia made an offer to the Guild to get access to it's docks to service the Bretonian fleet. Actual terms are unknown. It appears whatever these terms were was unreasonable and denied by the Guild. During these initial talks, it was decided to strong arm the station itself.
The nearby Bretonian fleet under Norfolk's command was moved to Omega-3. At this point Bretonia was demanding it while the Guild refused to give the shipyard or agree to any deals. Conflict broke out as Bretonian vessels engaged the Guild defenders.
It was at this point an announcement, various ones over both system-wide statements or after-the-fact questioning revealed that the Colonial government and military made a statement in support of Bretonia, a brash move against the Guild which they have previously supported. Within a day's time, a statement was put forth that a battlegroup had acted without authorization from the government to make political statements and was effectively rogue.
Organizations in support of the Guild began to show, such as their main support the Hessians. As well, this was when Core vessels appeared, stating they were present to engage 'undesired persons' in reference to pirates or radical-minded groups such as the Hessians or Corsairs.
A day or so later it was informed to me that the Order had moved in to support the Guild, with Golanski arriving himself. Conflict continued to spill out this entire time until a final negotiation was decided.
Mediated by Keeper Leviathan of Auxesia, negotiations were brought forward while a cease fire was put into place. As one could expect, any put forward plan was refused and negotiations broke down. Shortly after conflict resumed.
Bretonia did a final assault while supported by Colonial vessels, utilizing advanced technology and vessel-based bombardment in what could only be described as 'war crimes' as might be referenced in Gallic law records. In the end, Aland ended up a graveyard to forces from both sides, though Aland itself was stormed and taken by the Bretonian vessels. The Guild and it's allies were forced to perish or retreat with minor fighting afterwards. The system is now in an uneasy hold of Bretonia's grasp, putting Freeport 1 in an awkward state as well as many peoples who enjoyed the system's previously near-independent status.
With this conflict having gone on, it is unsure how this movement of Bretonian assets might have affected the Gallic front. A previous conquest of similar design occurred in Omega-49, now called New Holland, Bretonia gave terms which were denied, resulting in an invasion of the system and the overtaking of Gran Canaria.
We will continue to observe the conflict and warfronts.
