So, I got on the server today, to do my usual thing where I fly each ship around a bit to keep them 'current' and when I logged my first ship on, I got the nice green message, "You have received X amount of credits from PLAYERX".

Of course the first thing I did was look for the player in question on the player list....... not there.

This happened TWICE very quickly, so I'm guessing this credit transfer has been waiting to happen for some time.

Why am I posting about it?

Lets say it is a significant amount of credits, enough to setup a large freighter, with decent weapons and a fairly big armor addon or a good sized warship, minus the armor.

It *could* have been a mistake and losing a chunk of credits this size has gotta hurt, although why it came in two transfers I don't know.

So, if you were the one who sent the credits and you want them back, contact me via PM with the name of the ship you sent them from and the name of the ship you sent them to.... or the name of the ship you meant to send them to and I'll send them back.

If you don't want them back, THANKS! You deserve a million internets for your random act of kindness.

Note: I *will* be keeping the Admins in the loop on this (volunteer from the Admin Group please!) if possible, just to keep things 'honest'.

this happened to me, whilst escorting IMG| every couple seconds 100,000 would be sent to me, again, player not in list, in total flying from t23 to new berlin apart from escort payments i recevied about 20 mill

PM ships names, cheaters have been known to do this, it helps confuse the situation by linking to loads of ships.

Let's just say that if it was only 20 mill, I wouldn't be worried over it, not like I'm worried anyway, but the amount I got represents a huge amount of work for the person involved, 20 mill can be made in a few hours, this many credits would take days, possibly weeks of ingame time to get together.

I remember seeing this before. It was rampant and out of control in the billions. I wanted to roll back the server to erase it all before too many days passed by and too much was done. I'm certain there is a section in the admin subforum about the methods used by a previous group to accomplish this. Might be a different group or different name on the software these days but the method is probably similar as there are, by it's nature, a limited amount of options to do it.

edit add: Interestingly enough back in those days when it happened my Skype was constantly FUBAR, I've had to get rid of Skype the other day because it's gone FUBAR again.

Only one problem Evanz, I don't do Skype, I don't even have it installed.

EDIT: Got a PM from Tunicle, apparently it was linked to a cheater, so the cash has/is going to be removed.
