So hi. *waves*

I'm a Freelancer fanboy. Been playing on and off since it came out back in....what year was it? It was at least 10 years ago wasn't it? For me Freelancer is the best of the best when it comes to space sims. I've played the X-Universe games, Elite and they just didn't quite meet the same expectations set by Freelancer.

I just found Discovery and have been flying around on a bit and have to say I really like what I've seen so far. Not ten minutes into me logging in I received a job from the friendly folks at Ageira and was on my way to making money, but more importantly beginning a story for my character.

Anyways I'm H.Dasho ingame and for the moment he'll be flying about exploring the new systems and playing with any new toys he can get his hands on. To fund this he needs monehz. So if you see a H.Dasho flying about and need a hand with anything, don't hesitate to stop him and ask. He'll usually say yes as long as there is payment or unless he's got a specific destination in mind.

I'm rambling aren't, I? Imma stop.

Anyways see you out in spaaaaaaaace. ZOOMZOOM! *coughs*
Hey there bud! I would like to welcome you to our humble community! It's good to see that you're a long fan of Freelancer too, like me! I wish you best of fun and Roleplay here and to make your money fast! Smile If you have any questions feel free to contact any player tagged [Angels] in-game or just drop me a Private Message on forums and we'll be more happy to respond to your questions!

Cheers!

I know what you mean about different space sims. The X series, and procedurally generated sci-fi games have always seemed a bit 'soulless' to me. Freelancer's always had a special place in my heart for the storytelling that's conveyed through the universe itself. Every system had a purpose, and every faction had an objective, and all of those elements linked together fantastically.

The fact that the worldbuilding was done entirely through text-based infocards is especially good as well, seeing as it allows for a level of details that simply isn't possible with fully voice acted games. For an example, just look at the difference between games like Morrowind and Oblivion. The fact that the infocards are text based has made modding so much easier too, as you can see here at Discovery.

Welcome to the community in any case. If you're currently playing a Freelancer in need of cash, be sure to contact any Bowex) ships you see in game. We're always happy to hire on contractors, and after working with us for a while you might even be invited to the bounty board where you could claim further rewards. (sun)

Have fun out there!
Hey H.Dasho,

Welcome to Discovery Freelancer. I'd love to hear about your past on Freelancer. I used to play Raw server back in the day then FLU. Which servers did you play on?

Anyway, if you see me in game I'm one of those Liberty folks that usually carrys alot of goods. [*USI*]Texan.Terror[E] - I'm an employee for Universal Shipping and they're great for recruiting new traders like yourself!

Hit me up with a few questions about the community and I'll do my best to get you the answers you need.
See you in space,

Bellck.
Hi man and welcome

Good tp have new blood and insite pumped into the GC community. If you are ever round the Ontario system pop in at Swellendam base or just look out for ships thay starts with[SWD] and we will help and assist to get some coin in your pocket.

Welcome again and safe travling Freelancer.
Thanks for the welcome guys.

Have to say there's some awesome people out on the server and the RP is top notch. Since starting though I've been persuaded to get into BOWEX shipping. For Queen and Country! H.Dasho is still out there freelancing about in Liberty, preparing to go on an expedition into Kusari space for some saki but you may also see an Edward.F shipping weapons and such to Bretonnia for the fight against those Gallic scu- people.

Anyways for Mark_brown's question, I first picked up Freelancer in my teen years and never went on the the official FL servers. Mostly played vanilla singleplayer (like once every 6 months...which turned to once a year...which turned to even less than that sadly). I think I had a go of Discovery a few years back...Something about the helium mining triggered something in my memory. Dejavu.

Anyways before I ramble and write an essay, thanks for the welcomes everyone and I've met some really cool people ingame already who helped me out when I was still mining in Pennsylvania with barely 1mil to my name. You know who you are Big Grin

And to any other new freelancers out there contact Edward.F and he may have a job for you Wink

Edward Faraway: "'av a good one, lads and ladettes!"

Harry Dasho: "And don't ya'll ferget. Ya needa hootin and hollerin escort on ya jernies, call ol' Harry."
Welcome to Craziville! I'll be your guide!

Please pay no mind to the numerous bloody bodies littered around the entrence, piracy happens!

Now.. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret:

Make sure to take care when getting water from one of the two fountains. One of them is the Blood Fountain, the other is the Tears fountain. We invert them every 3rd day so just be careful not to get them mixed up!

Medications are handed out at 6, so until then remember to enjoy yourself!

Kidding aside, welcome!

Any questions can be directed to Angels, but also reliably members of official Tagged factions generally know what they're talking about so don't hesitate to ask them as well. If you're looking for factions to join, check the factions listings located here for any that pique your interests.

Lookin' forward to seein' ya around~
