Guten Tag.

I am not sure if introductions are needed considering that I have met twice the Grand Admiral already, but common courtesy dictates so. My name is Wolfgang Weisen and I am a Deceiver of the Lane Hackers.

As far as I know, within the regular Lane Hacker operational zone, there is only one Daam K'Vosh construct that still exists and remains operational. The one I am referring to lies in southwestern part of Coronado, inside the Barrier Rim. I suspect that you have already located that object and have several information about it. That is why I would like to request a knowledgeable Order operative to accompany me there while I conduct a new analysis on the construct. Considering that the construct behaves in a similar way as a Jump Gate, my ship will be accordingly equipped in order to analyze that kind of data.

Please let me know if you are able to spare one of your operatives for a few hours. Auf Wiedersehen.

To 'Deceiver' Weisen.

Your request has been directed directly from The Order Overwatch to me, as acting commanding officer of The Order intelligence in Western Sirius. If the order will be given, it will be pilots from my squadron that will seek to your safety during this unusual 'trip'. Through, we also have some questions to you.

We know a good deal about remains of Daam K'Vosh scattered about Sirius, as well aware of jumpgates of their design. Now, in general we do not share knowledge or locations of those artifacts - active or not - unless deemed necessary by The Order Overwatch itself for concerns of safety. This means you have had discovered it on your own accord or gained intel from those who already possessed that knowledge. We would like to know more, naturally.

Secondly, what interest holds curiosity of Lane Hackers to this device? Is it your own initiative or directive of your own superiors? Whether you know it or not, with or without armed escort you are putting your life in great danger... especially when alien FTL portals are concerned. Admirals made it clear to question the specific purpose of this endeavor. Our commitment will as you no doubt understand, depend on your intentions.

Finally, it is more of a preparation for my own agents... Concerning what potentially we have to deal with. While understanding between Hackers and IMG is clear enough to us, there is insufficient information available to us concerning how would Colonial Military react to your presence. While improvising is part of skillet required in our line of work, depending entirely on that and luck is a folly we will not commit to. Getting involved into unnecessary combat is not on our agenda here.

Hello 'Valkyrie'.

Allow me to address your curious nature by answering your last questions first. We are not in good terms with the Colonials who made it to Coronado system. But for as long as my ship remains in Coronado, I do not intend to let others know of my presence. Our reputation in stealth is well-known, afterall.

Regarding your next question, I would like to inform you that I have been an analyst for most of my lifetime. Analyzing data, estimating costs and risks is my trade, Valkyrie. This is not a different case. The Lane Hackers intend to step up their operations in Coronado. Estimating the capabilities of the Jump Gate, the size of "vessels" that it can service and many other important details is vital for us in order to calculate the risks and take the appropriate measures while operating inside the Barrier Rim. Might if I remind you here that this is the only known Daam K'Vosh object within our operational zone? We have no prior experience on how to handle such situations.

I am also afraid that my words were misinterpreted. I did not request from your organisation to provide me with safety. That is something which we can do on our own. I asked for a knowledgeable person who will share with us additional information that will come up during the operation while I also share with your operative the data that my scientific instruments will uncover. Since most of us are ex-Ageira employees, we do happen to know quite a lot about the science around Jump Gates.

As for your final question, the object was uncovered during a recent full survey of the system. I am willing to share this survey with you, should you agree to our request.

I am leaving nothing to chance if I can help it. Do bring help just in case, and so we will mobilize fighter force for our own security. You may say it is redundant, but if something big, bad and ugly emerges from the jumpgate you will start to appreciate additional firepower we can offer almost instantly. Those are Admirality's specific instructions, quite sound considering our past 'adventures' with this and other Daam K'Vosh / Slomon K'Hara objects Sirius-wide.

You may get yourself killed otherwise, or worse. Curiosity killed the cat, so people speak. While hopefully you are not this type to plunge carelessly into a trap for betterment of science, The Order's mission was always of vigilance. Despite object 'behaving' like a jump gate, it is completely alien design, which of you have no experience with. We will make sure nobody does anything we will all regret. I am instructing necessary personnel to converge towards independent worlds between Houses of Liberty and Bretonia.

It may sound restrictive, yet in practice it should be quite easy. It all comes down to proper communication on site and proper assessment of risk involved in your own words. We will meet soon.

It seems it is hard to get a straight yes or no to our request, but based on your attidute, I suppose it was accepted.

I don't mind the extra security as long as your operatives have been briefed about the operation and are intelligent enough to not endanger it. Mr Storgen is a fine example of what I don't want to encounter.

Exact date and time will be arranged in a more private communication.

I presume meeting can be called complete success. Despite interference from colonial battleship and Mr Rogers (while at it, I get impression you two already met?) you've got the necessary data. Do not worry, Admirals entrust people like me in capacity of commanding those 'potentially problematic' individuals. I just may reconsider your idea about putting him first in a recon party whenever we need one...

Now, unfortunately Mactan opened up due to automatic defenses supposedly recognizing enemies of the Outcasts. If you want to talk further, Invergordon and Barrier Gate Station are viable options. Freeport 4 is just too damn crowded with its position on the trade lane network. I may or not bring Agent Kunieda along, she's dependable wingman in both skill and filter between tongue and brain.

Guten Tag.

It is indeed true that the operation was a complete success. Almost. Mr Rogers' constant nuisances both delayed the entire operation during its most dangerous part and created a headache to our lead scientist. As an analyst, might I suggest that it is more productive to assign your mentally ill operative to the front lines where he can find a glorious end before he actually endangers more of your personnel?

Anyway, I would like on behalf of the Lane Hackers to thank your organization for the security that it provided. We hoped that you would be willing to share more info about those structures with us, in the same manner that we also shared you all our scientific results to you. Apparently this gesture went unnoticed as Valkyrie was not very willing to provide direct answers to our questions. So I am forced by my superiors to ask you three questions which they deem as vital. Vital because in that way we can estimate the risks of our future operations within the Barrier Rim and save the valuable lives of our operatives.
  1. Where this alien structure connects to? Valkyrie mentioned, Tau cluster. We would like to know the specific location. Whether that star system is inhabited or not, it doesn't matter.
  2. How many more alien "jump gates" have you located. We don't want to know their location, we simply need a number as each one of them can be potentially re-routed and connected to the one in Coronado.
  3. Are you aware of the existence of any other Daam K'Vosh leftovers/structures left within our zone of operations? As mentioned before, this is also for security evaluation.
Furthermore, I had promised to provide you with the data of the survey we had conducted in Coronado system. Here is the document I was referring to. Regarding our meeting my dear Valkyrie, I simply wished to meet you on a personal level. You see, I am not easily impressed by women. But I was informed that you are not socially "reachable" so I am not getting my hopes high.

To 'Deceiver' Weisen.

I am not sure where you get your "advice" from but I suppose you are right. Still I will not deny an intelligent conversation. I will accept any location within Liberty as long it is not a host to bigger than usual population of Liberty Rogues. I always feel like my brain cells are committing suicide one by one whenever they are involved. Leiden is quiet installation of yours, not too far from Liberty core systems. Less people to notice me the better, specially that I do not wish to cause unnecessary issues with Outcasts who have no reason to love me any more than rest of The Order... But back to the business.

We thank you for the document, it matches our records with exception of a jumphole in the outer Coronado system. Too unstable to even let probes through, it may as well have dissipated already as far we are aware.

System in question, according to Sirian star charts is Tau 117, codenamed Drake more in line with independent worlds surrounding House of Liberty. Uninhabited by any human beings, our sensor data indicates presence of several gravitational anomalies on erratic orbits around host sun. We have attempted to breach system several times, but infested patrols make it impossible to scan this solar system in detail we are comfortable with.

Candidates for redirection are unlikely to be found in suitable stable range unless Slomon K'Hara will attempt to build another object in or within neighborhood of independent worlds between Liberty and Bretonia (aproximately 10-15 light years radius, compared to standard Terran 5 LY). For your knowledge, there is number of functional jumpgates of this class remaining in deep Omicron space connecting Nomad installations with one another. Faster Than Light travel on distance between Drake and central Omicrons requires... bigger, more powerful gate in simplest terms, despite already terrific power output of what you seen in Coronado. We speak of equivalent of Texan experiment or higher "grade" portal of DK design.

To summarize, potentially affected systems include populated systems like California and Newcastle, the latter being under observation due to vast patches of unexplored nebulas.

Thank you for the information that you provided.

So according to what you said there are no other DK objects within our zone of operations. That is good news. Newcastle is not within that zone, so we do not have many reasons to spend resources there.

As for the power output of those structures, our scientific consultant did not reject the possibility for a jump gate in the Omicrons to have the power capacity to connect to the one in Coronado. He was one of the best scientists of Ageira so I suggest you to not take lightly his opinion. Provided that the alien structure is properly "tuned" of course.

Hello again.

I would like to bring to your attention a recent and highly suspicious incident with a Zoner transport named OSI-Sovereign.

While two of our operatives were patrolling Coronado system, Sovereign was briefly tracked heading towards the location of the alien jump gate. Because of Barrier Rim's intense cloud and occassional storms, its signal was lost shortly afterwards. The LH patrol hailed it multiple times in order to meet the transport while searching the jump holes and Barrier, but Sovereign was refusing even though it's well known to them that it was in no danger from us. Eventually he was convinced and when he was asked about his destination to the jump gate he mentioned that he was heading to Baffin which was incorrect and when our operative revealed his knowledge about where Sovereign was truly heading to, he escaped to Baffin where a nearby Zoner destroyer provided cover fire for it.

I am attaching you the original report from our operative as well. This strange behavior along with all the other oddities of that incident are very concerning to us and we are considering ways in order to respond to it. Naturally your experience on this field would also be appreciated.
