Below are the political stances of the Commonwealth of House Liberty. Being a Libertarian-Socialist state, the Commonwealth espouses both individual civil rights and the common welfare of all its citizens.

Though the Commonwealth currently only claims sovereignty over the systems of Vespucci, Humboldt, Kansas, and Magellan, for the purpose of clarity in the event of victory over the Republic, the following policies have been written as though the Commonwealth does or will preside over the Republic's systems.

1) Arms

The Commonwealth by its very nature is a nation born out of revolution and sees the armament of the people by both neural net and plasma cannon as necessary to avoid the tyranny of a potential despotic government, should one ever succeed them. To this end, it is the not only the right to but the duty of all Commonwealth citizens to have within their possession a combat worthy craft should the unfortunate need to use it ever arise.

2) Welfare

The Commonwealth knows that poverty and unemployment are major issues facing Liberty, lending to their sympathy towards the Xenos. The Commonwealth seeks to keep Libertonian jobs belonging to Libertonians and does not believe in the outsourcing of work to other nations. While the Commonwealth values hard working honest men and women, they do believe in the concept of UBI - universal basic income - a sum of money provided by the government to supply all citizens with the bare necessities for comfortable living, namely housing, food, and clean water, and healthcare.

3) Justice

The Commonealth has a firm stance on offenders who turn to piracy and other criminal means to make a living, and also consider bounty hunting to be a criminal offense. The Commonwealth empathizes with the Xenos cause due to their recognition of the issues Liberty faces and have taken a stance against them in an effort to change things, rather than simply taking what they want in wanton disregard for human life of well being. If the Republic is ever overthrown, the Commonwealth intends to give these all people the chance to live off of UBI or make an honest living working for Liberty. Any remaining outlaws forfeit the chance to appeal in a court of the law and be executed on the spot by the Legion.

4) Civil Liberties

The Commonwealth fully advocates freedom of religion, sexual orientation, and any other practice so long as it does no harm to others. The Legion also fully defends the rights of all people regardless of race, gender, or nationality.

5) Economics

The Commonwealth mandates taxes on corporations in order to support the common welfare of the people. The Commonwealth does however impose stronger taxes against manfucatured goods from outside of Liberty, incentivizing corporate manufacturing to stay within Libertonian borders. In addition, the Commonwealth subsidizes all construction and research projects deemed beneficial to the future of the House. Taxes upon individuals are optional, but any individual who chooses not to pay taxes forfeits their rights to UBI, Healthcare, Housing, and other benefits provided by the Legion's welfare structure.

6) Foreign Policy

The Commonwealth's stance on the policies and governments of other houses is largely non-interventionalist, in favor of other nations handling their own problems internally. The Commonwealth does, however, condone and consider to be legitimate any entities who wish to secceed from their house, for example, the Mollies. They have also been known to indirectly support populist movements within other houses, such as the Hessians and Blood Dragons, but ultimately only offer their word and do their best to distance themselves from these internal conflicts.
