Good day Ladies and Gentlemen!
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Andrew Wellows, cyber-security referent of Orbital Spa & Cruise. I am contacting you on a recent and most unpleasent matter, concerning our internal networks and database servers. A few days ago , our internal network was breached by unknown hacker or hackers. Little is know about the attack, the only thing that is certain that it was done from on board or from close proxymity of Luxury Liner Hawaii. Our secruity system tried to track and disable the source , however it seems like our systems are painfully out of date. As an aftermath of the attack, most of our systems failed and collapsed, therefore we do not know if anything was taken from our database.

This brings me to the point where I would like to ask the assistance of your company in order to upgrade our networking and security systems, in order to not let events like such happen again. As we speak, all OSC| internal networks are turned off untill furhter notice to make sure nothing else gets attacked.

A sidenote to the previously mentioned, not long ago , OSC| communication channels were also hacked into by kusarian criminals, which forced the company to ground their vessels for almost two weeks in order to ensure the safety and security of the crew and passangers.

I would like to know if your company could be of our help, if so, what would you need to calculate costs and methods of this system and security upgrade?



I will be awaiting your reply throught this secure channel, as our global communications network is turned off untill we find a solution to security problems.

Hacker attacks is something we have to counter on a daily basis here in Liberty. Preliminary analysis of the system logs you have provided us prepared by our Software Development Department indicates you were a victim of a star charts exploit #55db789. The trade lane and gate network provides a free service of star charts update to every vessel in range. Older versions of the star charts updater had vulnerability allowing a potential attacker to spoof a trade lane and provide your navigational system with modified star charts including a trojan horse, which once activated was opening a privileged connection socket for an attacker. With this terminal access a well skilled Hacker can take over most of internal ship systems. If you had a newest star charts updater installed this attack would have most likely failed.

If you wish so, we may send a team of software security specialists who will attempt to recover any lost data, will make attempt at tracing a source of breach and prepare for you a plan of internal network modernization. If you are interested we can send the team with a nearest Trade Lane Parts transport to Planet Kurile.

Good day Mr. Hart!
Please excuse my late reply, it's anoyingly hard to get anything done without our network system being online. It feels like we're back to where people were sending messages with pidgeons. Anyways, I would most deffinately request you to send your team of specialists to Hawaii if possible, I will arrange transportation from Kurile and accomodation on the Hawaii for them, as well as anything they might need. Naturally, the entire crew and security team will be notified to help your men wherever is needed.

Also, if there is any equipment that needs transportation, or any matterials will be needed for the upgrade, feel free to send the list and we will ship them to Hawaii as soon as possible.

Please, as soon as your team is ready to depart, send us a notification, so we can send the transport for them to Sigma-17.
