Hey! No worries, and thanks for the feedback - you're not late to the party at all, I'm still working on this. I both considered and tested this during early development for exactly this reason. I unfortunately couldn't quite get it to look/work okay at the time, but I'll gladly take a fresh look at this again now. Will hopefully be able to do a better job of it now than I could then.
Sure, that seems like a fairly quick and simple thing to do - added it to my to-do list right now.
Another cool thing would be an option to choose what kind of connection shall be visible: None, jump holes only, jump gates only or both. Especially Bretonia looks funny without the gate network.
Omicron Epsilon, Mu, Sigma, and Rho need to be labeled as Nomad Worlds. They are labeled as such in-game.
I believe it would be delayed for couple of weeks, like it was with the last update.

If you need up-to-date map info, just get
FL Companion as it has a universe map with relevant stations located on it. It's up-to-date because it takes the info directly from the game, so if you have recently updated Disco, it will give you the most up to date map information through the most recent update of Disco.

I know about the companion, but
's map is love.
Will be updated this evening/night (UTC+1) if everything goes to plan. Might be delayed to tomorrow if I run into technical issues that need fixing while I update it - will keep this thread updated if anything comes up.
