Current TeamSpeak (TS)

The admins have been trying to find ways of increasing the max users (currently 32) we had applied for an NPL (no profit licence) that would give us more slots for people to join, but have been turned down by TS providers as they thought that the Disco server were wanting a licence for profit making

We tried to argue our point but were flatly turned down

This is not good, and we are not happy about it

So we have some options

1. Carry on as we are, with max 32 users (not really acceptable as it hits max daily at peak times, i get pms that people cant join!!)

2. Change to a system (software other than TS that doesn’t need an NPL, therefore is not restricted to a max user limit. (downside is the loss of custom icons, for factions)

3. People that use TeamSpeak to donate small monthly amounts to get a licence for more users (upping the max limit)

We believe that for most people, option 3 would be the most comfortable.
We're looking at an offer of $55 per year that would double the slots available to 64, which should be more than enough.

Now $55 for a community is not very much at all, but for one person it is. We can only use this option if we really do get donations in. If you use the TS and want us to be able to provide it in the future, please consider donating.

Even a small amount will make a big difference.

Please vote honestly.
How often does the user count reach 32? If it happens rarely or almost never, I'd say carry on as we are. If it happens often, one of the other two.
Probably should have mentioned that: The reason option 1 isn't really feasible is because the 32 limit is reached every day (apparently).
In fact, it's at the limit at this very moment.
ill edit to show that
Implement a no-afk rule for the short term. If you're afk for more than 5 mins, somebody has to kick you.

5 mins is a really short one though, and there already appears to be a bot that goes online at 8pm - 10pm that kicks people who are "idling" for more than hour (also counts people who don't use mics so they get kicked too)
we have put in the auto kick bot because of the max 32 users, ill check about the "no mics" issue

Changed to lobby channel only.
Keep TS.
No new stupid systems that again need mic-setting and that one needs to beat people to get.
We finally managed to get more and more people into the TS system, so don't change it now.

Payment should not really be a problem.
Everybody with a job can help with the 55 Euro / year. If only one person pays, it's 4,5 euro / month. So... there should not be any reason to change system in a community that has aged enough to mainly consist of people who work.
I've been kicking people that were sitting alone in channels and/or had sound muted a lot today. Sorry, it's nothing personal, but the server is really, really full.

So yeah, as you can see 32 slots isn't really enough. Which is cool, it's more activity than we used to have.
