I'm not to good ad making ships, but I did do a ship that can transport, other smaller ships. Sadly, my Photobucket won't upload them.

It's a kusari BS, I took off the two pannels that block off the docking bay, and created a "hallway" that lead to a room within the ship. I think this would be good to include in the mod, but I need the help of other shipwrights to do it.

The Kusari BS is able to hold around 15 fighters, and with that said, I predict the battlestar Advanced should be able to hold around 20, Rhineland around 13, the Britonian, 20, Osiris 10 and liberty dreadnought. This would be great for clan battles. Also, you all know Chips of TLR, well, we are trying to figure out a way to make a player ship a mobile spwanpoint for NPC ships.

So, maybe we can throw this in with the new mod release, up to Igiss, but I think it would be a good idea.
ok now that is what ive always wnated. you know why because it is extreamly dificult to get a star flyer to the border worlds to get a ship. so this wold save alot of money towards buying multiple ships to get to the one you whant. you just hire a cab! and iam a recruet trainer and have to escort people all the time so this is realy cool

Creative idea, but I don't understand how this could be implemented. Do you mean the smaller ships literally fly into the space inside the BS transport and just sit there while the BS makes it's journey? That would cause countless collision problems. Now having the BS as a mobile dockable station would be ideal but I haven't seen that done anywhere before, so I'm not sure that's entirely feasible either. I'm not sure if that's what you mean, but it sounds like what you're asking is probably beyond any ship designer's capabilities I'm afraid.
The shield has to be down to fly the fighter in, so there has to be a way to manually turn off the shields. The mobile spawn point would be a great idea. If that is possible, then I think we should definitely add it in the mod. Since a BSs best defense against a fighter is its own fighters that would solve the big problem of capships having no defense against fighters. If this is made, and we implement it the fighters it should spawn should be MKII ships.

Lib Dread: Avengers or Liberator
Osiris: MKII Anubis or Corsair Titans, maybe a MKII version of the Corsair LFs can be made... (the Corsairs do have Osiris BSs)
RH BS: Wraiths or Phantoms.
KU BS: Chimaera, or (MKII KU LF, forget the name...)
Bret BS: Templar or (w/e the name of the MKII Bret LF)

What can be a problem though, is an enemy fighter just getting inside and ramming the BS from the inside. Or shooting the inside.
Well if it was a case of the fighter flying inside and sitting there the BS would spin like crazy :crazy:

is it posible to make it like a formation move so it always stays right with the BS if it is just siting in there but the ideel thing wold be to make every BS like a lfying station. heck if you wanted you cold probuble forbid them from docking eneywere and just have another player get them what ever they needed.
now i have no idea if this is posibe for i have never moded eneything befor so dont get mad at me if it isnt.
I don't think the mobile station is possible, at least without it being invulnerable. What happens when the BS gets destroyed but there are still ships docked inside it? As for formation flying inside the ship, formations would somehow have to be modified to allow such close proximity, and then that's all very well until you jump and have to get back inside the hollow ship. I can't think of a way this could be implemented for players without it causing more problems than it's worth.

That said, the NPC fighters using it as a spawn point sounds very feasible, but then what exactly do we gain? BS patrols could just be modified to have more fighter escorts than they currently do, cutting out the hassle involved in coding NPC BS's as spawn points.

No mobile stations, and as for bringing the shields down, all we need to do is jetty something, eather that, or no shields and increased armor. There could be the regular BS with shields, and a cabby BS with increased armor.

I don't know how to do formations, if there is anyone who can, I would love to hear about it.

To kiggles: If we increase the mass, nothing will be able to spin the BS, even asteroids.

I agree with dab on every level. I found the soluation to a mobile spawnpoint! It's an equipment mount. Able to carry up to 50 fighters. Each Bs gets 2 Fighter mounts a VHF and a HF or in the case of battlestars, 2 VHF's at 30 ships each.

Update: Okay, this is waaaay out there, but I just invented a Phase cloak, for those that don't know, it changes the ship to basically a phantom, I can pass through ships, bases, planets, and most importantly asteroids, it can however be hit with guns, and I'm not sure about missiles and torps. It can not shoot while in this mode, just like cruise. It drains energy from the power plant as well so it can only be used for 4-6 minutes depending on the size of the ship. (BS's, 6 Lf's 4 VHF's about 5 Hf's 4.5 Cruisers and Gunboats all around 5.5) If you uncloak in something, such as a planet, you will take atmospheric damage, not to mention, I can set it so it will wipe you from scanners, but not from sight. (IE: You can not be targeted, or will you show up on radar)

Another thing, eather turret view or reverse view can have a view of the hold, and we can mount weapons on the inside.

Sounds awesome and harks back to the suggestion of somehow working the buyable fighter escorts commodity into the mod. I love that idea and I love this one as it's fairly similar and would work perfectly in conjunction with it. Jets, I don't suppose you've had a look at that mod already have you?
