Okay so while browsing Youtube for my typical videos i decided to give it a break and search for freelancer gameplay, I came across Spazzys channel and started to watch a few videos.

Watching his videos really made me want to play a game i loved since the early years of 2002 when i started playing freelancer. anyway onto my problem-

I have a CD copy of freelancer and i also downloaded a ISO copy to install on my pc, When i install it (while running under admin and comp with win xp) it installs as a game does, After its done it tells me to restart my pc so i do. Now this is the fun part..

When i launch freelancer it keep saying "Cannot detect a capable 3D graphics card" so being eager to play the game i start browsing google, i came across a Thread that i thought could help but it didn't, It was the one telling you to add your G-Cards ID to the "flconfigdatabase" so i followed that guide restarted my pc once again and tried to open it, Nope still says the same thing "Cannot detect a compatible 3D graphics card" I followed a number of other guides online and still can't seem to get it to run on my PC, If there is any possible help, Please help me!

I currently run a AMD FX™-8320 Eight-core Processor 3.50GHz, With a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, and 8GB of ram.

If you need any other info just ask.
You should be able to launch the game just fine by clicking Yes in that window (?)

I've just found it, didn't check it so I'm not sure if it works

http://shadowoffear.net/portal/?p=394
And that's what I've tried out

However freelancer still keeps freezing my GPU, so I'm playing on older one ^^

Edit: I've just noticed that the 2nd link didn't help you. Maybe check the first one?

I hope it will help

I did experience the same problem a couple of times now (like always when i try to reinstall freelancer). Let me guess that you are neither from USA nor GB. Just clean uninstall the game.. here is a tutorial (use your CD copy instead of the iso one, though)

Code:
- completely uninstall Discovery/Vanilla Freelancer
- use CCleaner (don't skip this step)
- restart your machine
- install freelancer (this time around it shouldn't tell you that you have to restart your machine )
- if it still says that you have to restart, then use this file placed @\Documents\My Games\Freelancer\PerfOptions.ini  >>  http://pastebin.com/ffH3AeXf
- launch Freelancer
- install discovery (when installing discovery, just press Yes and continue even if it gives you errors. That's normal because of
- have fun
