By the look of the stats it seems "LN" and ally forces don't care for the pvp event. The ratio of 4:1 in favor to GRN represents the event is not going well and by that I don't mean LN have to win. For example look at the marines event: 58:69 in favor of "alliance" which means both parties participate nearly equally. The event is tense and unclear while the pvp one is going on in GRN tremendous win which is not encouraging others to change it.

What Jack proposed about more points to be given per GRN slain seems legit because currently GRN are more organized and a small group of few people can bring down tons of players due to the fact the GRN can target 8 ID groups, while "alliance" - only 2 (both GRN). I don't know if the devs though about it but currently GRN can enter and expect to be attacked by "a lot" factions, which is giving them superior advantage to score more points, while "alliance" forces need to wait for any GRN indie or official to log in order to possibly get few points. And no GRN would enter alone while "allinace" (indies especially) do that and are easy prey.

Look at it this way - if GRN death is worth 10 points then this event would've been sitting at 300:390 in favor of GRN - representing equality and tensity - then considering the current situation which is more than a failure for the "alliance" - its players will try to enter and change the outcome.
If no changes are prepared just shut down the PVP event and call GRN victorious because majority decided to play GRN and sabotage the event - this is how it looks like. (This is not a whine attempt but more of a worry that things are broken and needs to be fixed asap)

Good point in that, didn't even realize till now nhow much easier it is for GRN to scoop kills, as not only they can attack the trade ships hauling marines, but every BAF , LN , LSF ( even LPI (o.O) )escort or ship that goes that way.
Exactly. Look another hint why things are not working as intended for THIS specific event:

The ratio 390:100 in favor for GRN means 78 players were shot down by GRN (5 points per one) while "Alliance" took down only 20 - from which most were probably traders and few - military ships. In the opposite side tons of players (especially LN indies) try to haul marines. Yesterday for 5min sitting at Manchester i saw at least 6 indies - easy targets, with no armors which were worth 30 points if a single GRN bomber find them.

Yesterday I saw the ratio but decided to give it one more day before I post my worry message. Now its clear where this is going. Either make some ID worth 1-5 points (like for example all indies to be worth 2 points only and officials -5) or make GRN worth around 10 to compensate.

Also...I don't know if they would be so desperate but - there is always possibility to leech points by making few indie ships, change their names randomly and kill them at a certain time. Something is odd and smelly about how the PVP event is going compared to the trading one.
It's progress that the issue has been recongnized.

I see how the "higher bonus" suggestions would not work well - and these were btw not my ideas, I just posted them after they came up.

After a short talk in leadership channel, only one solution surfaced: Players decide which side they log. So it is in players' hands to make this a cakewalk or an interesting challenge.

At the moment, it looks like a 4:1 murderspree, that's likely even going to increase.

The only way I see [which would also lead to positive change overall] is:

> experienced players logging Liberty --- PLUS !!!
> coaching new Lib players (basics, like: /autobuy all on; get armor; do you have a class 10 shield on a VHF, etc - this is no joke!)
> organising and structuring Liberty on-server actions (like Teamspeak, Emergency Channels, etc)

If that does not happen, I predict a 5:1 or 6:1 massacre that dies down rather quickly once the trade events is done because of frustration and winning-team-joining/cheap victory/easy blues mentality.

P.S. Don't get me wrong: I am not critizising the event - it is great! Finally a place where you can find action without organising it first. It is the best thing in Disco since... long.
Are you actually kidding, Fallen? Liberty indies are famous for being absolutely terrible and useless in a stand-up fight. This is simply what happens when a group of highly skilled players that are organised and experienced run into a disorganised mess with no organisation and laughable experience.

Without effective leadership to corral them in the right direction (and honestly, that's actually impossible to do), the skill disparity is going to simply exacerbate the current score ratio and basically pre-determine the event. It's not rigging or abuse doing that.

In any case, PvP rules haven't been suspended, so someone looking to abuse the event for points is reduced to giving away 5 points every 2 hours. Sounds real effective.
Having flown with Liberty battlegroups, the disparity in kills is in no way surprising.
This is Liberty we're talking about, remember? There's people riding proudly into combat on things like dual nova Upholders with no armor and no regens. Do you think there are any GRN players that don't use armor or regens?

The average level of skill and coordination is simply much, much lower. Personally I think the easiest solution would be to simply increase the points GRN needs to finish to more accurately reflect this.
It's not a big deal, FallenKnight.

This is basically a left-over from the Royal Flush storyline event. The problem with the first Royal Flush event was that it happened in spur of the moment events and it just resulted in server crashes because the server doesn't cope with 40 vs 40 fights.

This kind of events are much more manageable because they can happen at any time with any fleet size. Now the event happening here, what players accomplish doesn't really matter because it already has a preplanned outcome due to the lack of event system at the time. However it doesn't prevent us from taking this opportunity to just have fun and get some money. Down the road I really hope we can use (and improve) the event system to be usable for events with non-preplanned outomes.

So really don't worry too much about who wins or lose the California event. It's the first time this system is used and it is impossible to have everything perfect right away.
You can't force "experienced" players to log in on LN side. I don't know if that is still legit but before all LN officials were also GRN officials and visa versa...if 50% of that is true now then this event is meeh cuz players will decide which side to win and by "players" I mean GRN officials. If I am wrong - ignore that statement but it was a fact.

What I said above the ratio and the ID groups remains as problem - 8 groups vs 2 groups (using 1 id) is close to fishing - you enter and track down a fish while the fish cant always wait for the hunter. People participate in events because its uncertain how things might end. If the final goal is obvious then people would lose interest to log in.

I just noticed these results and wanted to share them here - I am fully aware of the players in liberty (like karst and jammi stated) and I know most of them can't be helped. So a simple boost in points per kill would be nice in order to at least make things equal. Otherwise by tomorrow you will see 900/100 ratio.

(PS#1: I can describe the event in this way "Kill Nomads - Ally Target: Nomad ID, Nomad Target: Entire Sirius IDs - who would win?)
(PS#2: Alley don't get me wrong - the way you guys handle the event is awesome! There are just minor things that needs tweaking if you think its necessary.)
Many valid points from many people above this post.

At least the kill ratio has some predictive value about skills and numbers. Some people may suggest that LN side should go to Conn and practice, but practice needs time. And skills won't help much if one side manages to gather ganky numbers.

Whatever... I have a question. Does the kill bonus apply only to California and Magellan? (Yes, I got 5 mills in Magellan)
If the event isn't gone till friday I will bring some bomburs or heavy toys :v If not, my bad, I'm kinda busy lately. But otherwise, everything is perfect
I made LN bomber just for this oportunity to help out since I noticed constant presence of GRN| officials and indies and Liberty lacking both. I spend 2 times around 20 minutes just flying around trying to catch indies and organize, but they would listen and follow official [LN] much better then some random indie bomber.
So, the way I see it, Liberty side just lacks Official factions present.
