No that's not the issue, everyone is experiencing it. Everyone that bumps it. The Devs asked me to do a video about that, here I did and submitted.

Does it affect only the player flying the carrier or everyone else?

it affects everyone, I bumped that carrier with my ship and game got freezed for 3-4 seconds
That Crossfire mod space ambient for the Coalition, so epic.
