Zealots or Saviours?

By Ludwig Mannstein

"As Party Chairman Friedmann prepares for his new campaign on the trail throughout our beloved House of Rheinland we have been hard at work keeping you informed and ensuring that the voice of the Imperialists across Rheinland is heard. However during one of our investigations our sources have encountered an odd situation of what appeared to be Unioner Vessels. While that in itself is not unusual as the former Shipyard Workers of Alster and other major works of Republican are one of the strongest criminal organizations within our fair House these ones apparently operate under the banner of 'restoring the monarchy'.

It is not exactly known if they support the current claimant and political leader Joachim Friedmann, currently serving as the party leader for the Imperialist Party of Rheinland, however this has been seen as a possible concern for the Imperial Agenda across Rheinland. One IPR member who has given a statement under the promise of anonymity has stated:"

Code:
"Archduke Friedmann is a man of Rheinland, he would not seek the support of criminals to gain power like the Bundeschuh did in their 'Popular Uprising'. It is likely these are merely citizens acting upon their Zeal and acting on their own. The IPR does not condone the use of criminal action to seize power in any way shape or form."

"While this sentiment is echoed by many within the party a small number has stated they would not be unhappy if these individuals succeed in their quest to restore the Throne, Chairman Friedmann unfortunately was unavailable for questions cited as being 'On the Trail' seeking to shore up the IPR's positions on Hamburg and New Berlin. Are these Unioners true patriots? Or are they merely using the Imperial name for their own agenda?

Time will show the colours of these individuals and what it means for Rheinland as a whole."

Nationalists on the Rise?

By Ludwig Mannstein

"As the Federal Republic recovers from the war with the Republic of Liberty new problems appear to be cropping up in the political arena. Unioners, pirates who primarily were from Republican Shipping and other walks of life appear to be taking on a more political agenda as of late. Aside from the Monarchist minority amongst them the ideals of Nationalism appear to be taking root among many in the organization. What this means for the Federal Republic is that this may make the Unioners as dangerous as the Red Hessian organization who took on the ideals of Radical Socialism in order to garner support among the poor and destitute.

According to sources many former Military officers have taken up arms, citing that they had been 'betrayed' by the Federal Republic when the war had been in a critical phase and that it could have been won, these men and women also claim that the Federal Republic's Bundstag had been 'bought out' by corporate interests who saw the end of the war as a more profitable venture which in their eyes is effectively capitulating to the Republic of Liberty.

This has encouraged many who supported the war effort to feel abandoned and betrayed by the Federal Republic and to take up arms amongst either the Red Hessians or Unioners.

This Nationalist trend is likely one of the results of the Libertonian Peace Treaty which has struck a massive blow to the Rheinlandic Spirit, while it is unlikely to have an immediate effect aside from a boost in recruitment from Pro-War Nationalists and Socialists the long-term results may be far more unforgiving should this trend continue.

The Imperialist Party of Rheinland has not given an official statement as of yet on these Nationalist Unioners, however it is likely to come in the following days of this new development."

Federalists - Nationalists Clash in Munich & Frankfurt

By Ludwig Mannstein

"According to civilians in Munich fight erupted near the Chiemsee Asteroid Field which Daumann is currently mining for metals vital to the Federal Republic. The altercation apparently involved elements of the Nationalist 'Unioners' movement and members of the Rheinland Military attached the the Munich Defense Fleet. While the Unioners were routed from the system a Tirpitz-Class Battlecruiser is rumoured to have vanished during the fighting along with all hands onboard.

Not long after further sightings of Unioner and Military forces were claimed to be in the Frankfurt System which normally suffers under Bundschuh terrorist attacks which makes this sighting un-usual for the people living in the system. However according to our sources in the Military the system was quickly made safe for civilian traffic once again and the Unioners were forced to flee.

However further sightings of the missing Tirpitz-Class Battlecruiser was briefly reported in Frankfurt as well, however the Rheinland Military claims that it is missing no vessels at this time in the vicinity of Frankfurt or Munich. Is the Military holding back vital information from the Rheinland public/ Or is this simply a hoax started by over-excited Munich-dwellers.

The Imperialist Party Spokesman, Hermann Engel has released a statement on both the events with the Unioners and the IPR's official stance on these 'Nationalists'."

Code:
"Our hearts go out to the souls suffering in Munich at this troubling time in Rheinland's history, altercations between the Military and forces of the so-called 'Revolution' has been on the increase for the past few years which only further divides our people and weakens us as a whole. These 'Nationalists' if they really meant well would have joined one of the legal parties in accordance to their ideals, not turned to armed conflict which will simply waste more Rhienland Blood as was seen in Munich and Frankfurt.

As such we disapprove of such behaviour and will continue to support the Rheinland People the right way, the legal way and ensure that your voices are heard."

The Fall of Kyushu

By Ludwig Mannstein

"By now all of Sirius has been made aware of the trouble plaguing House Kusari. Most recently with the Republic's loss of control over the Kyushu System to the Imperial Faction of Kusari's Kogen dynasty who even now continue to struggle to reclaim their empire and throne. The fall of Planet Kyushu itself was described as 'quick' due to overwhelming support by the local population for the return of the Kusari Emperor. This support, with the aid of both Imperial Forces and Patriots of the imperial agenda, proved to be the tipping point against the Republic's hold over the planet facilities. Most State Police facilities were reported to have fallen rapidly due to overwhelming numbers and a lack of support from the Battleship Nagumo whom had been not long before driven away from Kyushu's orbit by the Imperial controlled Battleship Nagasaki.

For Kusari this represents a strong and determined will to return to traditional values and is a show of a support for the deposed monarchy whom is rapidly gaining support for it's cause across Kusari while the Republican forces attempt to regroup and plan it's counter to the Imperial assault.

Seeking to know the Imperial Party's view on the Kusari Civil War the Rheinland Imperator managed to get an interview with Archduke Friedmann, heir to the throne of Rhienland which currently stands vacant due to the abolishment of the Monarchy. "

Code:
"The difficulties the citizens of House Kusari faces at present is staggering. Over the years the citizens of the House had seen much and shed much blood. The War for the Taus between the Kusari Empire and Kingdom of Bretonia, the Gallic Invasion which led to a large number of Kusari Imperials stranded in Bretonia whom attempted to fight off the forces of the Kingdom of Gallia with the Kusari Emperor being betrayed by men and women he thought he could trust at home.

Now war has come yet again to the good people of Kusari, it is a sad state of affairs and we can only hope that it is concluded in a short, timely manner. From what I have seen the people themselves may take it into their own hands to restore the Throne of Kusari and the Kusari Empire with whom the House of Rheinland has enjoyed a fruitful relationship with.

As for whom I and the Party are 'rooting' for in this entire sad state? I support the side who wishes to see the fewest casualties to both Military and Civilians and ensure a strong unified House. The Sirius Sector needs symbols of strength, of stability and honour. Perhaps it is the Republic. Perhaps it is the Imperials. We shall see what will happen as the campaign continues."

"That was Archduke Friedmann from the offices of the Imperial Party of Rheinland on Planet Hamburg. We hope to bring you continued coverage of this situation as it unfolds."

Sigma Expansion

By Ludwig Mannstein

"While many remember the disastrous results of the 80-Years War which led to the withdrawal of the Empire's claim upon Sigma-13 that has not stopped Rhienland from expanding it's frontiers into the Crow Nebula's edges. With Sigma-15's recent settlements on Planet Hammersee as the newest addition to the House of Rheinland the Bundestag is setting it's eyes on additional developments in the region.

Furthermore with the discovering of Sigma-21 by Rhienland explorers with it's highly desirable world of Planet Saigon the prospects for futher expansion in the region is looking more and more likely. While the Gas Miner's Guild and the House of Kusari may oppose such claims it is unlikely that either would be able to halt any serious efforts by the House of Rheinland in the acquisition of the desperately needed living space and whatever resources both systems hold as Sigma-15's Nordsee Cloud, a section of the greater Crow Nebula, may contain H-3 and other vital gases responsible for the production of H-Fuel. However our sources report that Corsair raiders were spotted in the region which suggests a possible opposition in the territory of Sigma-15. In addition the terrorist organization known as the Bundschuh have been sighted in the area preying upon civilian shippers in the region.

Despite the obstacles facing the House of Rheinland colonization continues forwards and the old Imperial ambitions of expanding into the Sigma regions are quickly becoming a reality in our time.

We will continue to follow developments in the Sigma Region as they appear. I am Ludwig Mannstein and this is the Imperator. "

Lost Sons of the Empire

By Ludwig Mannstein

"While the Federal Republic continues to expand it's influence into Sigma-15 we must remember and honour the proud Sons and Daughters of the old Empire who ventured into the near-by Sigma-13 and never returned. Ships such as the Imperial Cruiser Kassel were sent into the Yanagi Cloud and the greater Crow Nebula in one last assault upon the Gas Miner's Guild who managed to destroy the fleet which eventually led to the uneasy peace between the Guild and the collapsing Empire.

While ALG was diligent in attempting to clean up and recover the fallen men and women who died in the Cloud so they may be returned to Rheinland for burial even today there are many ships still missing. One wing in particular who were assigned to the Kassel are still reported as missing according to the ALG's final report in addition to Military records dating back to the end of the 80-Years war. Unfortunately due to numerous oxygen gas pockets and rising Corsair and Outcast activity in the Sigma-13 system expeditions to seek out the remaining lost ships has proven impossible.

Archduke Friedmann recently attended a memorial service dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the Final Battle of the Yanagi Cloud in addition to several members of the Imperial Party of Rheinland to pay their respects to the lost sons and daughters of Rheinland, who even now still drift on the battlefield where they fell, and those who were recovered during ALG's long clean-up operation that saw many of the deceased returned to Rheinland to be buried by their families and the state.

With the expansion into Sigma-15 many minds turn back to our history and the losses suffered during the last expedition into the Sigma Regions, studying the mistakes of the past in order to avoid making the same mistakes in this new era. "

Gas Miner's Guild: Terrorist Sponsors?

By Ludwig Mannstein

"The Gas Miner's Guild, the 'victors' of the 80-Years War and the first blows to the structure of the old Rheinland Empire that caused the monarchy to be abdicated under gunpoint. Having gotten rich off of the H-3 and H-Fuel Industries have apparently continued to attempt to destabilize the House of Rheinland for their own agenda. This journalist has recently received information about the Guild that has shown just how far they are willing to go in order to destroy the Rhienlandic people and ensure a victory for terrorists such as the Red Hessian Army or even The Coalition.

While my source remains anonymous in order to ensure their cover and thus their very lives the data they have funneled out has definitely proven the Guild acts against the Rheinland people and the government that serves them. What we show is a intercepted transmission from the Guildmistriss herself in addition to the Gas Miner's Guild and a Coalition vessel in the same vicinity without acting hostile to one-another which in itself is suspicious due to the violent nature of the Coalition to those who work within a Corporation."

"The Imperial Party of Rheinland immediately denounced the Gas Miner's Guild and has released a statement to the people of Rheinland."

Code:
"The actions of the Guild are intolerable, aligning with those such as the Hesse Movement and the Coalition who both seek the downfall of the Federal Republic and the Rheinlandic people is a clearly aggressive move that can not be tolerated. Both the Hessians and the Coalition have committed grave crimes against both the people and state, Piracy, Murder, Treason and Unlawful Attempts to force a Regime Change in the House of Rheinland.

The Guild must be made to answer for aligning themselves with these criminal movements, thus I call upon my fellow members of the Bundestag in conjuration with the Law Enforcement Agencies of our great House such as the BDM, the Federal Police and the glorious Rheinland Military to pressure the GMG to either answer for these crimes or be removed as a threat to the Rheinland People. We must show that sponsoring Terrorism is not tolerated in a Civil Society and must be answered for."

"So far the Bundestag hasn't released an official statement on the Guild's actions but is expected to soon, the Imperial Party of Rheinland in the meantime has also called for a shift to alternate fuel-sources such as Samura or even granting Kruger Minerals H-3 surveying and mining rights to Sigma-15 to counter GMG Influence."

Imperial Party continues to speak out against the Gas Miner's Guild

By Ludwig Mannstein

"With the recent threats against the Rheinlandic people by the Gas Miner's Guild, the Imperial Party has been quick to denounce the Guild in our initial report. The party continued to speak out against the Guild and it's anti-Rheinland policies at a rally on Planet Hamburg, the centre of the IPR's political power, which had suffered during the war with the Republic of Liberty. Our people in the field attended this rally, where Archduke Friedmann himself attended as a primary speaker, in order to understand the Party's position on the Guild and what may be in store for their future. "

Code:
"The Gas Miner's Guild has long since been a hostile neighbour to our House, even after the cession of official hostilities at the end of the 80-Years War they continue to attack corporate holdings, Kruger in particular, in a manner befitting Terrorists rather than a business organization. Particularly eager to ensure a total monopoly upon the H-Fuel business and to crush Rheinlandic businesses into the dust.

The Gas Miner's Guild must be called to account for it's actions of Terrorism and threatening to sponsor known terrorist organizations within Rheinland such as the Red Hessians or the Sirius Coalition, if they do not answer for these crimes and pay reparations for these acts of hostility than the Party will advocate the Federal Government for strong action against these criminals and their supporters. In the meantime Rheinland must be made either self-sufficient in terms of a Fuel-Supply for our proud House or an alternate supplier such as Samura be contracted instead of the GMG to ship high-quality H-Fuel to the Federal Republic.

Furthermore I have been asked by citizens if there will be a new conflict for the Sigmas should diplomacy be rejected by the Guild. I cannot say for sure, however If the Guild does not comply with the Republic's reasonable demands than I believe we may enter a renewed conflict with the Guild, however unlike our ancestors all those years ago we have grown wiser and our Military has become highly skilled in fighting in such environments. The Imperial Party does not wish for a war, however should it come we shall endeavour to continue to promote the interests of the people of Rheinland and take steps to ensure we will be victorious in such a conflict."

"Meanwhile in New Berlin the government has not formulated it's response to the Guild's acts of aggression, however they are expected to in the near future. We will continue to monitor these events as it unfolds and do our best to bring you the news as it comes out."

Guildmistress spurns Diplomatic Solution and pushing for conflict?

By Ludwig Mannstein

"As the on-going troubles between the Federal Republic and the Gas Miner's Guild continues on it is becoming abundantly clear that the current leader of the Guild. Yukari Kara, may be attempting to push for a conflict rather than a diplomatic solution that would appease all parties in this crisis.

I recently spoke with Admiral Driedrik Sterr of the Rheinland Military in order to get a better glimpse of the events and actions being undertaken by our Law-Enforcement Agencies to ensure the peace. The Admiral has assured that Rheinland is attempting to speak with the Guild diplomatically despite fierce opposition from the current Guildmistress to find a peaceful solution to the recent evidence brought forth from our paper of threats to fund and support known terrorist organizations such as the Red Hessian Army and the Sirius Coalition.

Admiral Sterr had this to say about the on-going diplomatic troubles with the Guild and what it could mean for Rheinland as a whole."

Code:
"I have personally concerted a diplomatic meeting recently with the Guild's self proclaimed representative, Yukari Kara. Initially, she did not attend the meeting, proclaiming there were more important matters to attend. After a gentle warning, we finally met.

I am afraid the Guild, or the part that she represents, is hardly interested in clearing up any of the possible misunderstandings regarding their cooperation or ties with assorted terrorist organizations. After systematically refusing the militär's aid in securing their damaged stations in Sigma 13, and thus endangering the trade routes between Kusari and the Republic, they also rejected possible solutions to throw some light into the current activities of their party, all the while demonstrating a very high grade of hostility towards Rheinland and our good intentions. We have come to think they would rather receive aid from groups such as the Red Hessian Army. Our most urgent worry is the endangerment of the Sigma 13 trade route due to the Guild's negligence.

The Rheinwehr remains ready to aid our neighbors despite their stubbornness and we have prepared a number of measures to guarantee the wellbeing of the Republic of Rheinland and the state of Kusari as well as their people and properties. We are ready no matter the course of the events and we will have this problem solved diplomatically in the upcoming weeks at most.

Once more the Rheinland Militär asks for confidence and patience."

"Despite the Admiral's noble intentions it is clear the Guild is not interested in a peaceful solution that does not weaken the Federal Republic and it's institutions. Still the Military appears hopeful that a Diplomatic Solution will be reached without the need for violent conflict. We will continue to monitor the events as they unfold.

Gas Miner's Guild 'News'?

By Ludwig Mannstein

"It appears the Gas Miner's Guild has a 'news' outlet from which Pro-Guild propaganda and mis-information is sent from. I have watched several recordings of their broadcasts and I have found it riddled with personal opinion and mis-leading information. One broadcast in particular caught my eye telling of the Diplomatic meeting between Admiral Sterr of the Rheinland Military and Guildmistriss Yukari of the Gas Miner's Guild.

There were several inconsistencies clearly shown on the broadcast which I shall now highlight for our readers out there."

Code:
"The Rheinland Military has, after a very unpleasant encounter, received permission to patrol Sigma thirteen as they see fit, all this is a result of our plan not to engage in an active war with Rheinland"

"The Guildmistriss seems to be deliberatly leaving out vital information of what occurred beforehand. As seen in our previous news article the Military had previously offered aid in patrolling Sigma-13 in order to ensure security for civilian traffic which was refused by the Guild harshly. The reasoning for omitting this vital piece of information is likely to portray themselves as the 'victims' of 'Rheinland Aggression'. "

Code:
"Rheinland is trying to push us to attack first "

"This statement in conjuration with the above statement adds upon the most common theory of the guild attempting to paint themselves as the 'victims' rather than the aggressors as seen in our expose of the Guild's connection with State Terrorism [See news article Gas Miner's Guild: Terrorist Sponsors? ]. The article continues on with what the guild supposedly would 'do' in the event of 'Rheinland Aggression' as well as their rather unflattering thoughts about what actions the Republic of Kusari would take."

Code:
" but Kusari wouldn't be smart to attack us since they rely on our fuel. Kusari is not standing hostile enough against us to attack for the sake of Samura getting the gas fields and they would be in trouble with Rheinland later on. After all, the system would have to be shared and Kruger is also interested in our fields."

"The harsh tones against the Republic of Kusari and threats to cut off vital fuel-supplies is a clear act of aggression by the Guild in an attempt to cow the Republic into submission. Strong-Arm tactics such as this is a known tactic of the Guild against Houses who would challenge the H-3/Fuel monopoly the Guild currently enjoys. In addition the Guild suggests that a war between the Republic of Kusari and Federal Republic of Rheinland would occur without a shred of evidence to say so.

While it is known that the Samura corporation within the Republic of Kusari is at odds with the Guild due to both their own attempts at H-3 Harvesting in Hokkaido and the planet of Kurile which is being unlawfully assaulted by the Gas Miner's Guild there is no evidence that a war between the Republics would occur with the only point of contention being Planet Saigon in Sigma-21 which can be resolved diplomatically by the Republic of Kusari and Federal Republic of Rheinland without GMG interference with their own claims on the planet.

All in all, the Guild's news outlet is from our analysis geared towards the spread of mis-information and ensuring that only Guild Propaganda is received rather than reputable news sources such as the Colony News Service. We will be continuing to watch the Guild's own news program and expose the truth of the Guild's underhanded practices."
