Hi

Just wondering if a corsair can and pick a fight with the navy in liberty seeing that liberty is usually populated with a lot of police players and it gets boring trying to rob people near omega. however liberty is not in the corsairs ZOI.

Much appreciated

From my understanding, you cannot just go there and pick a fight. Also the corsair council has said that corsairs should only go to Liberty if they are either smuggling artifacts or escorting a smuggler. Assuming you are in a fighter, fill up with artifacts and fly to Liberty to sell them. It's not the best way to smuggle but I guess it would count enough to go to Liberty. Then you just need to be caught by the law enforcement.
While you techincally can abuse the self-defense rule, this is not why it is there in the first place, nor should it ever be used like that. If a person takes a corsair battleship to New York and sits on top of Manhattan in order to bait someone into attacking them so that they can shoot back, this is still disruptive and highly OORP.

Technically, the only reason IDs are not completely bound to their ZOIs is due to the fact that almost every single faction (apart from nomads and a few others) have trade routes with their allies. They are not forbidden to exit their ZOI just so they can use a tradeship with that same ID.

As a rule of thumb, stick to IDs that have engagement rights in the areas you want to play in. If you want to fly corsair ships in Liberty, your best bet would be a pirate ID with the core-nerf that comes with flying a non-generic ship on it. Though remember that the Pirate ID has its own limitations.
I see so all i have to get is a pirate ID, how does a pirate ID nerf my ship which is only the corsair cruiser? Does it redeuces its engine output or somehing, or reduce damage output?

Check this out for info on the tech nerfs for various ship/ID combinations.

The cruiser class ships are not allowed on a Pirate ID.
Get another ship for the pirate ID. Keep your cruiser with the corsair ID.
Small tip for you, my friend:

If you're willing, sell your Corsair Cruiser and make a funnier Rogue Cruiser.
With that, you can have fun in Liberty. And Rogues are funny chaps.

Just my thought.
You can also use Outcast Cruiser/Outcast ID in Liberty for pirating or engaging law forces there .

Well, if someone considers the Orange something, then you cannot with caps. Snubs should be ok
