This network has been established for the sole study of individuals pertaining to the illusive organization designated 'The Cult'.

Initial Encounter - 03:20:43 SMT, November 5th, 823 A.S

Unit designated as 'Seeker' pursuing Bounty Contract on known affiliate of an Artifact smuggling organization. Ecounter occurred briefly within the Sierra Ice Field. The vessel activated an unidentified cloaking device outside of standard cargo scanning range.

Preliminary observation reported a Bustard-Class Civilian Carrier, ordinarily not something worth investigating. The unique EM-Wave signature its stealth system made use of is another story. In addition, no weaponry was detected on board the vessel. The 'Captain' of the vessel spoke briefly.

Secondary observation occurred November the 6th around the hour of 04:00 SMT. Unit Myrmidon One piloted by Curator Leviathan, accompanied by Affiliate James and Keeper Revenant arrived on scene at the location of a Baxter Anomaly which sensors identified and cataloged as K751. Curator Leviathan was the first to arrive on the scene, later to be joined by an LSF agent, an ESRD agent, and a Junker, all of which proceeded to engage the Bustard-Class Carrier in conversation.

The conversation was mostly one-way, in which the Carrier refused to communicate. Visual evidence of cargo showing similar signatures to item #3287. The Captain of the vessel announced that others should retain distance from the anomaly. Visual evidence of unidentified particle beam weaponry being fired from the Carrier was recorded. Scans returned null. The particles managed to successfully disperse the gravitational disruption generated by K751, effectively destroying the anomaly.

As mentioned, the object dispersed. After brief, uneventful questioning the vessel engaged an advanced form of cloak and eluded pursuit. Discussions with the other individuals present provided several theories as to the origin of the vessel and its purpose. The remainder of any evidence will be collected within this network for investigation. Additional evidence will be attached to the primary case file.

The following are a list of theories speculated by outside sources:

- 'The Cult' is a covert and well equipped branch of The Order's past due to their methodology of silence. By current standards their Modus Operendi no longer fits in line with The Order that we are in contact with,
- 'The Cult' is a sect of Nomad worshipers similar to the Oracles due to religious mannerisms frequently used in speech.
- 'The Cult' is an organization that collects and hoards advanced technology from any who might have it for fanatical purposes. This poses a significant problem due to the nature of our flagship and several projects within Zeta Section.

All data surrounding the investigation in to this case file remain classified until further notice or discussion with The Keeper, The Curator, and Venator Glass. Submit all relevant data to this network.

Investigations may proceed, but our primary focus remains on the other objective.

I would like to point out the connection to the 'Gatekeepers' in Omicron Zeta, I am no scientist, but perhaps these Cultists could potentially be connected to the Nomads?

One notable scans were the Jumphole Generator parts, perhaps they're used to deconstruct and construct parts on a particular wavelength, like a radio of some form. Of course, I am purely just making random estimates for directions.

I wish to see results on this case.

Tertiary Encounter, November 6th, 823 A.S

A sensor ping occurred within New York during standard operations in which The Curator, Keeper and Venator McAllister (who has since been added to this case file for review) moved to investigate another hyperspace reading. With no fixed location, a 'follow-up' was speculated, and thus the Detroit Debris Field was investigated at the location in which anomaly K751 was detected.

The encounter occurred when the vessel begun to speak and revealed its self with several well armed escort craft. Legion assets investigated closely, as we had already recovered the necessary scans in our previous encounter. The commanding officer of the Bustard-Class identified himself as one Saint Brutus, and referenced another individual known as Saint Andrew.

The individual "Saint Brutus" was rather vague as to his intentions, origins and destination. In the final few minutes he noted that this would be 'the last time we meet' which implied he had no intention of encountering us again. This is of course relating to his decision to give away his position and decloak to speak to us. In any other circumstance with any other party not present, it's likely his vessel would come under fire. Noted in the few times this carrier was encountered was its lack of shielding, yet "Saint Brutus" claims their hull is more than capable of withstanding any assaults, despite the minor damage it had already received. They turned down an offer to receive field repairs.

Observing the mannerisms and naming conventions of "Saint Brutus" and the mentioned "Saint Andrew' leads me to assume that 'The Cult' is in fact a religiously motivated organization. Keeper Revenant's theory in related to the 'Gatekeeper' technology located in Omicron Zeta might have a direct correlation to the particle beam weaponry which the Bustard-Class used to disrupt and seal K751, given similar properties and function. However the Gatekeepers weren't intended to disperse and remove the anomaly, but rather prevent people from using it, while the weaponry used by the Techa Vindicata completely disrupted the anomaly. Given the vessel later returned to ensure their work was finished, this isn't the first time they've performed such a task.

Observing their speech and hearing what they've said has left the idea that they're xenophobic. They've no intention to make friends or enemies. Given their technological prowess I have no doubt that any enemy they make would be in for a fight. Their motives remain unclear, and it's obvious that "Saint Brutus" answers to someone else, given how he mentioned he had a task to accomplish. In cultist society, tasks are handed down to followers of the cult's ideals rather than people in a seat of power. Prophets, so to speak, would avoid entering the field for mundane duties or tasks.

Looking over the listed theories, it's entirely possible given our own technological secrets to attempt to draw out 'The Cult'. Making use of our more advanced and secretive projects could attract their attention if technology is what they're after. It may be, given their possession of components relating to item #3287 that further experimenting with said items might possibly be sacrilegious to them. They've proven capable of sealing anomalies, and if the item does what we assume it can do, then we have our bait.

One of our observers caught something interesting.

>>ATTACHED DATA<<

It appears they're not siding with the Nomads at all. When the ship started to sustain damage, it simply vanished. When the Wraith came along to the sector to inspect in stealth, transmission were picked up by the local Navy forces that the Cultists had reportedly engaged with them.

Another scout ship was detected by the Eidolon, an Eagle, saying he was here to pass on a message. Noticing his point of interest wasn't present, it departed. Simply cloaking away, then returning through whatever anomaly it used to get here.

Quote:[11.11.2016 07:14:57] .:j:.Domovoi: Snell: Uh, what now?
[11.11.2016 07:15:12] Angelo.Sancto: A messenger, nothing more, nothing else.
[11.11.2016 07:15:15] JM|-Bullmastiff: Are eagles supposed to have that many flashpoints?
[11.11.2016 07:15:35] .:j:.Domovoi: Snell: And what message does one such as yourself carry, shieldless one?
[11.11.2016 07:16:01] Angelo.Sancto: Though it seems as that the recepient of said message is not present.

I have some disbelief that these Cultists are even that hostile, as the Navy tried to note. But at least our theory was cleared up, thanks to the observer. We can relax on that point of view.

They've been appearing again.

Recently sighted in New London and in New York, although we missed that one. What is noticable is their increase of drone usage - including the commanding units.

Upon their destruction, scientific data can be discovered from their broken databanks, along with salvage of the drones remains. It seems that people are taking the opportunity to steal these parts.

It's imperative that we must take it away from them before they uncover anything dangerous. Technology can't be trusted with anyone else. Whilst one of their people have warned us to keep away from the crossfire, we still should act upon these worming bugs and take back the pieces ourselves.

I believe instead, that we can decypher the data and ensure that it does not leave our hands. It's a shame to see a vibrant shade of people be eradicated from Liberty's idiocy.

What with the recent anomalies spouting out in randomised locations, and with their appearance rates spiking up once more, I'm beginning to feel as if there is a connection between the Cult and these spatial events.

Anomaly 1-200-4, New York, 08/01/825

As noted in the Uplink, we attempted to trace down one of these 'Saints' to initiate queries concerning the topic of Anomaly activity, but - inevitably, we failed to find one of these said Commanders. Though, by observation, it appears that their arsenal has been upgraded, the hull has been reinforced, weapons overcharged even further, who knows what they truly plan with these skirmishes.

But, perhaps the biggest part of our curiosity is this material, dubbed "Narcrahtite" by the NeuralNet, discovered from the wreckage of the fight, samples obtained by the local of Kusari. Unfortunately, we do not have any samples. I truly feel discomfort with their show off of technology, and resources...

It's a possibility they may be leaving traces intentionally for a larger scheme, perchance that they may be planning a trap for the curious ones. Analysis is required of the scenario. Do we bother to attempt to reverse-engineer this in hopes of sending a message, or do we maintain our distance in the shadow? Are the Cultists truly hostile? Would it be more feasible to attempt to program these to trace and record the Cultists activity instead - if at all possible to locate any data from the debris? Many questions are being raised, but little answers are being uncovered.

Two incidents, two days.

Initial reports of a large energy signature being reported in Rheinland on the fringes of Frankfurt were picked up. Attempts to gain access to investigate in person were denied, thus combat drones were dispatched to record and collect anything they could.

During the fighting it seems the drones lost their defensive measures from a barrage of torpedoes extending from a similar carrier-class vessel to that of the Techa Vindicata. This carrier however, was far superior in comparison to our initially recovered data. Its armaments were able to outmatch the majority of the Rheinland military forces and put a dent in both the Viper and Ares. It seemed that the carrier was attempting to do something when it was supposedly set upon by Nomads. Out of no where, it activated a generator, like item #3287, with less than successful results, unlike experiment F-624. The Cultist then began to attack. No identification was given as to who was operating the craft, thus it's safe to assume that it was automated, like the rest of its combat craft. Data and salvage recovered are en route to storage at Ataraxia.

The second encounter occurred in Omega-3 during transit of the Andraste for its refit in Bretonia. We were notified of some energy signatures and attacks being made against Miners braving the Comet in the system for valuable minerals. Granted access by the Bretonian Armed Forces, one Admiral McIntire, The Andraste and Eidolon were both deployed and had regrouped with the Bretonian battlegroup.

Arriving, we found another carrier, equal to the one encountered in Frankfurt, yet obviously not the same. Yet again, no identity ascertained, as combat was already engaged when we arrived. The Andraste and Eidolon provided support to the Bretonians, successfully destroying the vessel, yet not before it could detonate what appeared to be a similar explosive that Keeper Raven had witnessed in Omicron Delta. Several Bretonian vessels were damaged by the detonation, and the Andraste needed minor field repairs, which were provided by the Bretonians. Two more lesser carrier-class vessels entered the area and began to engage.

Unfortunately, some Hessians managed to secure several items from the Cultist's remains. They escaped, and were covered by the Coalition, who allowed dangerous criminals to escape with even more dangerous technology than we should've allowed. Nevertheless, the necessary data and salvage were recovered by us, with bits and pieces being recovered by the Bretonians, IMG and ALG. Attempts to discuss the release of the data were unsuccessful, yet an offer to discuss cooperation about the Cultists was extended, in the hopes that anything they might recover could be persuaded out of their hands or shared to us in a joint effort.

What's unusual about this is the supposed attack on the Miners at the Comet. I was under the impression that The Cult wasn't interested in provoking conflict?

I believe we have found our motivator for their cause.

The Anomalies. Even they cannot control them. They caused these catalysts to occur over time. They're afraid, they're afraid that their hidden jewels will be discovered, and that they will be powerless. They care not for others, but for themselves. To an extent, that applies to us too.

This... resource, Narcrahtite, is one of the first mysteries revealed. Small samples were obtained, Research Division will conduct experiments shortly, but it isn't quite our priority.

From this observation, it's only a matter of time until we find out where the Cultists are truly hiding, or what they plan. Perhaps we can talk to them, perhaps we subjugate them to allow redemption, or simply observe them; their technology and access to resources poses as a danger. Which is no secret to us.

But for now, we wait, we watch.

It has been decided.

By many thoughts and discussions within the Phalanx, we agreed to an experiment. This experiment proposes of attempting to stimulate their drones communication waves, in order to relay a message of queries. With the various debris collected, we believe that a basic open relay link can be established, attempting to mimic the radio waves emitted from their drones in combat, as observed. Though, unlikely to find a fully functioning device within the scrap, we can still try to analyse the materials. On another hand, it does not harm to open up various frequencies. Due to the recent discovery of this distant system, it would be safe to assume that they possibly border the Omegas or Omicrons, due to Nomadic presence in the system, or even beyond the Nomad Worlds, thus - the probe will be roughly sent to the last known orientation and coordinates of the system. The Probe will indefinitely fly until it is pinged a response or physically located. Upon deactivation, it will attempt to ping the relay back home, should there be lesser interference.

As observed in New London, one of their Carriers was cornered by both Humanity and the Nomads, denying hails, inevitably drowned in fear. Naturally - the local forces opened fire on them without even attempting to resort to reason, more interested in stealing items of interest from them. Some Bretonians even outright admitted it with their attitude.

Though, another point of interest is that they also shot back before the hails, perhaps their paranoia served them right, as Sirians have shown nothing but degeneracy, greed and hatred. Perhaps they isolated themselves for these reasons. They don't care about conflict, and want the quick resolution. Death. But yet, this does not explain their actions for raiding the Independant Miners...

As ambiguous their intents and ways, they may have yet one last chance to redeem themselves, should they even bother to listen to the proposed message.
