Background

The 1st Maltese Legion is an independent, volunteer-based union of patriotic Maltese officers, pilots, and soldiers. The Legion was formed out of the volunteer “Galicia” squadron at the very beginning of 824 A.S. The mission statement of the Legion was published by well-known Maltese commander Ezio Aquila based on a conceptual framework prepared by Rafael Saelices and Enma Loyola; it highlit many major perceived problems of Maltese society, such as institutionalized corruption and traditional plutocratic institutions, which the Legion sees as inefficient and detrimental to national interests. In one way or another, most of the military commanders were involved in the Maltese political and economic games. The prevailing state of both internal and external affairs was absolutely unacceptable.

Realizing that, in the current situation, to oppose the plutocracy politically or economically would only further entrench it, the Legion has focused on securing the Nación’s external borders. While the small forces of the Legion focus entirely on the most critical frontlines of Maltese defense, the Legion suffers from a chronic lack of supplies and military equipment; regardless, Legionnaires are bound to refuse any help from wealthy Maltese families and cartels, so as to prevent the Legion from falling into any sort of dependence upon the very powers they are ideologically opposed to.

Due to conditions of the movement, the models of ships and equipment found in use are quite diverse. Most of the gear in the Legion is the personal property of the pilots using it, which often leads to problems with technical support. In some units, ship maintenance is up to the pilots themselves and centralized repair centers barely exist. Payroll in general is also rather situational and small; in general, command is not able to provide proper supplies, whether financial or technical. Some units found themselves on the brink of survival, though only a few have ever left the Legion’s ranks. Slowly, but surely, piracy has become the main source of income for the most of the Legion’s ranks. Some officers, with their origins in noble families, are able to provide some supplies to their units, but, due to the Legion's aforementioned tendency to mistrust the oligarchy, this is often not evaluated to be a positive phenomenon. The Legion cooperates closely with the Junkers, who are usually able to provide most of the needed parts and equipment at reasonable prices.

The combat operations of the Legion mainly consist of textbook partisan warfare. Using the cover of endless asteroid and gas fields, Legion fighter and bomber wings attack suddenly and decisively; after doing as much damage they can to defending side, Legionaries utilize the same fields to escape. The number of larger ships, as well as their frequency of use, is very limited due to technical issues, and they are not used except in urgent situations. Regional units in the Taus, Sigmas, Omicrons and in House space have their own specific tactics and tricks, but all of them have the above in common.

The Legion's military and ideological leaders are different, but work side by side, ultimately sharing the same point of view. Due to the nationalistic essence of the Legion, non-Maltese are not permitted to attain any high rank in this organization. Legionnaires value the love and loyalty to Malta held by some foreign volunteers, but they never trust them as they would trust one of their own. Neither is there any reason to allow foreigners to gain influence; Malta has absolutely no shortage of experienced military specialists.

The pilots and leaders of the Legion refuse, for the most part, to take any part in political and economic life of Malta. Dedicated to combating external threats, they view their devotion as nothing less than their patriotic duty, and involvement in civilian life as an undesirable distraction. However, the Legion is not apathetic, and has its own point of view on how rebuild the beloved Nación in a completely new way. From their point of view, it is impossible to build up the Nación properly until its enemies are neutralized and the Nación is geopolitically secure. In addition, the Legion holds that at the current juncture, any peaceful change of the Nación's organization would be nearly impossible. Killing other Maltese, however, even for the cause of saving the Nación, is out of the question.

L\- is already tracking as unofficial faction, in line with the following we don't have to pay an additional 500m.

I would say "good fight" about yesterday, and today, if not there was this attitude problem in your faction that gets in the way:

1. Self-nuking to deny blue message

and: [09.02.2017 22:08:01] Death: L\-'Barrage' suffered a self-administered loadout error (Mine).

Is it really that hard to just give a normal blue?
Does it always have to be "denied!"?
What is the problem in allowing for a blue with a name?
Why can't you give another player the satisfaction of saying: "Ha, I got him!"?

2. Do you really have to give disparaging comments whenever you can?

Someone docks:

or someone docks: [09.02.2017 21:57:27] L\-'Flashback': Bye.
or someone dies: [09.02.2017 21:52:22] L\-'Jinx': Pop.

And of course you can claim that this is roleplay, but I think we both know better that these are player-player comments, commenting gameplay realities and not roleplay.

Why do you feel the need to comment anyway?
Are you aware that you are creating a negative atmosphere at a moment when you won anyway?

I mean, these are small things, but is it really necessary?
It should not be.
You have the best pvpers currently playing.
You normally win anyway, whatever the odds.
You should not feel the necessity to behave like this.

1. Self-nuking to deny blue message

Skype logs Wrote:[00:58] Fox:
[00:53] Vasko:
Hey Fox did you intentionally self-nuke or?
like not gonna blame you if you did
just curious
<<< caught a CD

I'm really sorry our guy accidentally dropped a nuke and died denying the blue message while being under heavy CD spam. Now let's talk about Quickdocking to deny blue message from your team, Henderson:

2017-02-09 21:57:18 SMT Traffic control alert: IMG|Laura.Huntington has requested to dock
2017-02-09 22:24:43 SMT Traffic control alert: IMG|John.Reese has requested to dock
2017-02-09 22:24:52 SMT Traffic control alert: IMG|Alexandra.Mckenzie has requested to dock

Were they necessary? Are they justified for the people that spend all that time shooting you?

2. Do you really have to give discouraging comments whenever you can?

[09.02.2017 21:57:26] L\-'Flashback': Bye.
[09.02.2017 21:57:29] IMG|Laura.Huntington: Bye!

Seems like you also replied to that so you acknowledged it as valid roleplay. Also isn't roleplay within a videogame that also have a gameplay side supposed to be acknowledging what happens gameplay wise? Some of us still believe shooting and taking people down is part of the roleplay.

Also if a few words in-game that could very well fit the setting and what was happening discouraged you to log again think how we feel each time one of you guys describes us as: "alot of the OC side are salty, mad and trolls as well as memes of this community" on the forums?

(02-09-2017, 11:47 PM)Jack_Henderson Wrote: [ -> ]Are you aware that you are creating a negative atmosphere at a moment when you won anyway?

We're sorry we won and acknowledged the fact we won in the chat. We'll try to win less in the future as well as speak less because obviously shooting and pvp death is regarded as something outside of the roleplay by IMG.

Epilogue

-Why didn't you mention in this feedback the fact you guys hugged the Valor NPC that spams a battle razor?
-Why didn't you mention the 2 =CR= Cruisers that just jumped in to help you versus nothing but fighters and a single bomber? P.S. I got from Rax that the 2nd cruiser pulled out when asked nicely so kudos to the guy for the understanding! Smile
-Are all those justified just because we're considered the best pvp faction? Also wasn't BAF the best pvp faction according to you in another thread?
-Does the fact we have better players in the pvp department justify what your side has been doing?
-Also why is it always you complaining, why do I never hear Pepe say anything negative, why doesn't Yao rip me a new one for shooting his KNF everytime he logs?
- I know nothing about CR cruisers. I was forced to dock before and could not influence the fight any more. I told the Tau 44 Cruiser that was there at the very start of the fight that he was not needed, but you are likely talking about another one. If you want someone to keep an eye on what is happening, do not shoot me out in every single fight at the start.

- Your guy started hugging Cali when it was an even snub fight, and I /fmed you guys about it. About Valor-hugging, see point 1. I cannot interfere when I am not there any more. Don't start it if you do not like it.

- Docking =/= self-nuking. Docking to avoid exploding makes irp sense. Self-nuking? Yeeeee.... Plus: it happened twice, not once in this fight. "Accidents", of course. Big Grin And hey... of course CDs were caught if all of sudden mines get spammed when on fire. It's not necessary.

- Disparaging comments: The alt-caps is really roleplay? Really?

Quote:[09.02.2017 22:24:55] L\-'Jinx': AND SIT DOWN.
[09.02.2017 22:25:01] L\-'Jinx': SIT.
[09.02.2017 22:25:04] L\-'Jinx': DOWN.

Is that "fitting the setting"?

- Attitude: And you can even see the attitude I have been describing in the feedback post. You just proved my point.

Just because you weren't there to stop them does that justify that attitude? Would that mean next time one of our leaders dies we could play as dirty as possible on the pretext of "well you shouldn't have killed Vasko so he could stop the ganksquad"?

Should I point out all the times IMG or CR have hugged Java AND the Valor NPC Base? Do I really need to dig for such things, because unlike you I don't screenshot every time someone plays cheap. Though I'm sure I can dig plenty if I ask around. Also the fact you weren't there does not excuse what your members do. They are not mindless drones that you control, they have a mind of their own to be able to consider what is a cheap attitude and what isn't in a fight.

So how it would make inRP sense to quickdock, having your ship suddenly disappear in the middle of space?

I've seen all-caps used both in skype to denote yelling as well as in the game while inRP. I've personally always assumed anything written in caps to be done in a raised voice.

Should I point out I have never seen you show positive attitude unless you've won a fight, Henderson? Like I said, why don't I see Pepe complain, why don't I see Yao complain when they lose?
Jack, Vasko pretty much summed it up in the best way possible. Yes some of the members said some stuff in system chat, doesn't mean its there to troll. After I killed both the A/) fighters and after the fight was won in general I typed some propaganda in system chat. I do it on BAF, I do it on RHA, I do it on a lot of factions. I don't see how its an issue. Regarding your comments on self-nuking, he caught a CD at the end when he dropped a nuke the same happened to some other members that died later on, on both sides. If you look at it as denying the blue, I'd ask why you and 2 other IMG docked, some of which had more than enough regens to continue fighting. It's a group fight, I didn't aim to get the blue on anyone, I aimed to play the game and win with nuke messages or blue messages.

As for your comment on creating a negative atmosphere, I don't think we did, the IMG and CR had superior numbers throughout the fight and used the BS as cover which worked to their advantage for some time. They even brought two cruisers into the fight, which isn't very nice. That being said, we didn't complain we shot and killed one of them.

The way I see it, your faction is getting more activity and so is ours, its a typical pvp encounter there was no "trolling" involved. The reason for your complaining to me, seems to be just because you lost.
- In comparison to your squad, IMG| lacks experienced members in group fighting. Therefore, guidance on "what is considered okay" and "what is acceptable" and "what is a no-go" can only be given by a few. And if you target these few on purpose at the start, the experience in calling Cruisers out or even only such simple things as "typing while fighting" become impossible. You should sometimes play on a bad team to realize these things.

- This was the 2nd fight against L\- in Taus. Yesterday, I gave the blue and had a tense fight against the 3 snubs in my transport, and I saw it through even though it would have been easy to dock. I think you have zero reason to complain about fight #1. Today, your guy started base hugging, there was no reaction to my /fm.
Dragging out arguments going back months (but in 2015 you did X) is not really convincing to justify why your guy started hugging Cali when it was a nice and even snubfight.

- Are you really unable to see the difference between docking, and dropping nuclear mines on yourself?

- Even a "raised voice" interpretation does not make this /s any better, and does not change anything about it being used to hit at the players, not at the characters. Just win, and leave. Do your "roleplay" in local. You won. Why kick at the defeated players at that moment in pseudo-/no-rp system messages?

- Oh, I actually wanted to write kudos for this fight, but then it kind of went bad. I mean, you would not be justifying and we would not be having this discussion if everything would have been clean, would we?

Anyway, I said my thing.

If you are interested in improving interactions, you could:

> stop self-nuking to deny blue messages
> stop /s messages after docking

Take it as feedback or leave it.
okay, thank you for the feedback.
Always a pleasure.

I regularly face ganks, I've experienced the issue first hand considering I'm in a lot of factions that lack pvp skill. I still don't find it acceptable to throw cruisers into a snub fight, but that's just me. That being said, I didn't really care that CR threw cruisers in the fight that time since the cruisers had no idea what they were doing.

I'm not complaining, no one else is complaining, you're the one posting in our feedback thread.

Nope, he caught an accidental CD at the end anyways, what difference would it have made if you had gotten the blue or not? Would it carry some RP significance to kill an ordinary bomber pilot?

It wasn't really a kick in the face, that happens in just about every fight. Or at least, every fight I've been present at. I've never seen complaints about this before from either side.

We didn't self nuke intentionally, so I don't know where you're coming from there.

If system chat messages are really an issue for you I won't do them anymore, but I don't see a really convincing reason to stop the rest of my members from doing it. That being said I won't encourage it.
