EARLY LIFE & BACKGROUND

Arthur James Cuttingham was born to a very well-off family with no siblings on Planet New London on December 14, 777 A.S. His mother, Sarah Cuttingham, was a real estate agent, and his father, James Cuttingham, was a Flag Officer in the BAF. His mother was always there for him, and was very overprotective. His father, on the other hand, joined the BAF shortly after he was born; Arthur had never met him. Ever since hearing the tales of his father in the BAF, he had the wish to fly, but was either too young or not allowed to.

His schooling was excellent, as he went to Northampton Primary School in 784 A.S, which was located in the city of Port Charles. However, the fact that he didn't have a father wieghed on him throughout his Primary schooling, and he wasn't happy often. But, he had excellent grades and had many friends, but most were not exactly a huge part of his life. However, a lot of kids had teased him during his early life, due to being jealous of his wealth. At the end of Primary school, he finished with perfect marks, and tested out of Port Charles Secondary school, and went straight for the Port Charles University in 791 A.S, at the age of fourteen.

During the year of 795 A.S, Arthur graduated the Port Charles University, at the age of eighteen. He had majored in economics, not really knowing what he wanted to do. He begged his mother to let him go to Sussex Military Academy on New London, a prestigious military school which was the precursor to entering the BAF. But his mother refused to let him go into the BAF, despite his marks being well above adequate to enter. He didn't take any schooling during this time and spent most of his days secretly studying military tactics and flying techniques through books and the Web.

TURNING POINT

In 800 A.S, Arthur was twenty-three, still lived with his mother, without a job. He realized this was ridiculous, and he needed to do something about his life and it's direction. For years he had wanted to fly, and figured that was the only thing he was going to do. But for the whole time, his mother had locked down the family ship so that he could not go and fly anywhere. His opportunity came in September of 800 A.S, though it was not exactly the opportunity he was expecting or wanted. His mother was on Planet Leeds to sell property to a client on the landing pad, when she say three men come running out of the equipment room. Richard Winston Tobias was one of them, and she was stunned at seeing that stubborn man leaving his shop. This worried her, and she became even more worried when they got into fighters. The air and mood around the landing pad became sour, and the client ran off to his ship. She noticed the transport leader who flew her to Leeds, was waving people into their transport, and she walked on board. BAF fighters flew around the air and the pad came under alert. The transport took off, cleared the docking ring, but was destroyed by a Rheinland Gunboat that had penetrated the defensive line at Glasgow. The BAF arrived shortly afterwards, to mop up the Rheinlanders, but it was too late. His mother had texted him the code to the family fighter when she saw the gunboat, knowing she wasn't going to make it. Arthur now had his opportunity.

Arthur had become depressed, not seeing the value in his life. His father was missing, and his mother died. He searched the records of the BAF, to find his father, but to no avail. Apparently, he was on some mission somewhere and his status was "Unknown". Arthur began to drink. The mansion his mom owned and he lived in went into foreclosure due to rent not being paid; his mother's assets were neutralized when she was killed. She had kept all her money on a card with her, which Arthur always thought was foolish. But just as all his hope was draining, a new family had just moved in next door, the Doe family. Apparently, they had just fled Planet Denver in the Colorado system after Pueblo was attacked by Sean Ashcroft. It took them awhile to be able to move in, however, due to the blockades in Liberty and the border customs. John Doe, the family's youngest, took akin to Arthur. Doe, at the time, was only eleven years old, but they became good friends. The Does took Arthur in and cared for him in their house as he awaited his father's return. Eventually, he got Arthur to stop drinking, and Arthur applied at the Sussex Military Academy and was accepted that year. After school each day, he would come home and go into the Virtual Reality simulator with Doe, and they would practice fighting in fighters. He did this for seven years.

FINDING HIMSELF AGAIN

In 807 A.S, he graduated Sussex and felt accomplished. Later that year, he met his to-be-wife, named Lucy Williams, who was twenty-eight at the time. In 808 A.S, with her help, they had enough money to move into a small apartment in Rat's Harbor, a poor district of New London, and they decided to start a family together. They had three children, Charles, John, and Michael. At his point, John Doe had just gotten a contract with DSE, and began to sell lucrative goods throughout Sirius, bringing him much profit. Doe was an eerily generous man, and gave Arthur a billion credits in 810 A.S, as a token of his friendship. Arthur was baffled, but kept the money, which was enough for him and his family to move back to Arthur's old house in Port Charles. Arthur wanted to raise his kids for as long as possible before entering the BAF, as he felt that raising his kids was top priority.

In 818 A.S, Arthur's father contacted him, and sent him a message. He told him that he misses his son, and was sorry he never met him. He had been moved to the Tau-31 front to fight the KNF, and they were doing well. About a month later, James, his father, was reported K.I.A by Gallic forces in the Leeds system in a raid on Glasgow. His battleship was destroyed, but he put up a last stand with his mates, apparently. The GRN suffered heavy losses on the raid, making it a Pyrrhic victory for them. Arthur went into a rage after this, and thus his lust for vengeance on the GRN began. His intense prejudice and hatred for the Gallics was masked by a proper, older gentlemen. But he said his kids were too young to be left alone. He did not want to be his father and leave his kids when they were too young.

MILITARY BID + TRAINING

In 823 A.S, he was urged by his wife and Doe to join the BAF. Since he had the flight experience, he signed on and became an Ensign in the BAF. At this point, his kids were all about fifteen years old, and he decided that his wife could care for them, and Doe, strangely enough, decided he would fund them as Arthur was gone. Doe had agreed to also fund Arthur in the BAF and supply him with whatever he needed. He made it into the 8th Fleet, and was mainly sent to Leeds to fight. The other officers told him he had tremendous potential to become one of the best pilots in the BAF, though he had a ways to go. In his first engagements as an Ensign, he was badly wounded and his ship was destroyed. He usually was picked up by a repair team and sent to the nearest medical facility. Each month when promotions were given, he ranked up, until his current rank of Captain.

Life is turning up for hum. It was during this time that he started taking a martial arts class, to get fit. After gaining a lot of weight after his father's death, he decided he needed to cut the ninety-five kilos that he weighed down to a more manageable weight. He took Kung Fu, an ancient method of fighting founded on Earth some thousand years ago. What he lacked in raw power he made up for in technique and flexibility, as well as speed. He learned a great deal of discipline and lost most of the fat he gained, and weighed about eighty-one kilos after his training. He did these classes starting in 823 A.S., and has been taking them ever since. The lessons he learned gave him more self confidence, and respect for others. He took this respect to a whole new level, and what is meant by that is he addresses everyone me meets as "Sir" or "Ma'am", even his enemies. Much of his loyalty, respect, and discipline come from this new found training, which trained him not only physically, but mentally. But, this training he did was not shared with anyone, and is one of his secrets. His life was going very well up until this point. He has trained for about a year. He wouldn't be called a master at it, but he is proficient.

However, in early 824 A.S, disaster struck Arthur at the most personal level. His wife was on a transport leaving New London on a regular business day when a GRN bomber moved in and fired shots at the transport. John Doe had been piloting the ship, and it was his transport. Unfortunately, Arthur's wife was killed when a SNAC hit the main hold, shaking the ship and sending his wife flying into a large metal wall, killing her immediately. John Doe was injured, but since he was in the cockpit, wasn't being tossed around. He fired at the GRN agent with his guns, doing massive amounts of damage to it. After pumping it with lasers for a short while, the GRN agent left to Leeds. Doe checked on Arthur's wife, and she was dead. Doe was taken to the hospital shortly after. Arthur to this day believes the attack on his wife was revenge for something he did against Gallia, and was coordinated by some of the highest ranked individuals.

Later on, in 825, Arthur was promoted to Captain, and thus secured ownership of the HMS-Endeavour from his good friend, now First Officer James Willemstad.

CURRENT STATUS

Currently, the year is 824 A.S, and he is a Captain in the BAF. He is currently forty-seven years of age, which is old for a snub pilot. His snub fighter skills have drastically improved, and he beats most if not all of the common pirates he faces. He now has access to capital ships as well, and those skills are quite admirable. However, the aces of the GRN and militaristic foes are hard to beat; he has yet to kill one. He considers himself "sub-par" at snub combat. His vendetta against the so-called "Roi", or king of Gallia, is still evident. However, he hides his intense hatred from his officers, and most people. He currently works the night shift in the BAF, which includes Ensign Tomas Mowbray, and Lieutenant Commander Victor Steiner, among others. He has a best mate, Lieutenant Commander Victor Steiner, who is also on the night shift. They christened themselves "The Black Watch", and are dedicated to protecting Bretonia's borders while the other officers are sleeping. One of his most notable acts was when he led Lieutenant Commander Victor Steiner and himself into New London and they successfully fought off and killed two GRN agents. Their names were [RN]-Francois.Drake., and [RN]-Xion.Sisco. Steiner killed Drake, while barely surviving, and Arthur took out Sisco. It was the first recorded time he had ever fought GRN agents, killed them, and returned to base without damage. Then again, these types of victorious fights make up about 35% of his fights.

PERSONALITY AND TRAITS

Arthur Cuttingham is six feet tall, weighs eighty-one Kilos, and is in pretty decent shape. He isn't too muscular, but is defined. He had trained in a martial arts academy in secret after joining the BAF, and had been learning the ancient method of Kung Fu, which came about on Earth many years ago. He has trained for about one year, so he is decent, but not a master. However, he keeps this secret, for an unknown reason. He loves to wear suits and or his military uniform, and dresses well. He speaks with a rich English accent, and loves to sound proper. He has dark brown hair, dark green eyes, and is Caucasian. His voice is on the lower end of pitch and the tone is soft. He loves English Breakfast Tea. He a nice, genuine, and loving father of three kids. He is respected around his community in Port Charles, and is known for donating money to the poor. He will never run from anything, unless told to do so by a commander officer. He will stand his ground and fight till the death, if need be. His best mate is Lieutenant Commander Victor Steiner, and they back each other up on patrols in the Black Watch. He is loyal to his officers and friends, and tries his best to be respectful to everyone in his fleet, including those who despise him. He even calls enemies by "Sir" or "Ma'am". He is dedicated to the BAF, and is very nationalistic. He tends to hide his troubled past with Gallia away from the officers, but not from his friends, and keeps his true feelings and prejudices about Gallia away from everyone. His lust for vengeance on the King of Gallia keeps him going, even through the darkest times. Arthur still carries the emotional scars from the death of his parents and his wife.
