Introduction:

“Our species needs, and deserves, a citizenry with minds wide awake and a basic understanding of how the world works.” – Carl Sagan, ancient Earth astrophysicist, Data Record : Unknown.

And to such quote, the response of Commune’s perspective about an utopic and idealistic advancement of mankind was Dr. David Synk’s creation of the Terminus R&D Cell. Having a life dedicate to solve the mysteries of the cosmos and completely offered as tribute towards the apex of knowledge and science itself, Dr. Synk started his journey as a prolific scientist when he arrived and worked as an Order scientist. During this period, he worked inside an organization affiliated to the Order named Cerberus.

During his time in Cerberus, his knowledge expanded towards a variety of scientific areas, from spatial mechanics theories towards advanced notions of quantum physics and xenobiology. It is known by the figures of Commune that Dave Synk contacted Jared Nomak in the hope of his knowledge to be used properly into the right Light.

Because of David’s genetic anomaly, having an eidetic memory started to become quite useful and permitted him to conduct sophisticated and advanced research projects on his own. He is used to spend hours alone in a laboratory only to conduct his research towards success. Considering the possibilities with the Commune, with Nomak’s approval, he created a special wing for the Commune Organization, dedicated exclusively for advancement. The Terminus Cell was inevitable to exist eventually, given the quick progress and expansion of the organization and its goals.

Modus Operandi:

The Terminus is organized unlike the other two counterparts of the Commune, the Riders and the Silver Sun. This Division has a more open approach for all the scientists and experts having a similar status inside it. The difference comes on the assignments. Everything is coordinated by Dr. Synk who is the Director of the Division itself. The assignments are also sent, directed and coordinated to the scientists, by him.

If there are potential scientists who desire a place in the Terminus cell they are interviewed by Dr. Synk himself and the result has some ramifications such as :

- The examined candidate is tested upon basic science knowledge that could help assist Dr. Synk in his research. If passed, he will head towards integration and be given low-level entry access to small research tasks such as : Azurite Gas research and recovery, Material analysis and subparticle studies.

- The examined candidate can come with a series of working projects that he conducted privately and he desire to contribute to Commune’s Great Work. If given approval the candidate will head towards integration and will be assigned a small team of research assistants and all the necessary permits to access the technology which allows him to begin his work.

- The examined candidate, if proven with a considerable high level of knowledge, he will be given a Project (or work with one that he came with) and full clearance to all necessary technology, as well as considerable sized team of research assistants and various resources that are needed to conduct the projects.

- Denial of request.

Integration:

The procedure is simple and efficient and is focused on anti-theft and frauds. Given the scenario that a scientist wants to defect from the organization, all knowledge will be stored into data shards that are implemented into a bio-organic nanochip that is attached to the neural cortex via an implant. There are no side effects to it. All the data that is created by the scientist is stored into the data shard and it can be accessed only in the Terminus Division area. Data can be stored at any time, but extracted only in the Terminus R&D Labs.

If an operative goes rogue, any attempt to temper with the device will go to its destruction by being decomposed organically. If the device has a prolonged period of absence from any Commune asset, it goes again into degradation.

Directives:

The Terminus Cell is concentrated exclusively on advanced research projects and exotic technology that is accessible to us because of our affiliation. There are various operations that the Cell is focused on :

- Exploration and Discovery

- Research and Analysis

- Development of new technology, improvement, augmentation.

- Assurance of Commune’s technological continuity.

Suplimentary Data:

All scientists are expected to act with the outmost responsibility and discipline, conducting their jobs with professionalism like the rest of the members.
