New to the site, however been a long time fan of Freelancer.

Saying my hello to everyone,

Just wondering by using the mining laser, does it more or less guarantees material drop compare to conventional ship weapons?

If so, are there listings on the planets or locations to acquire a mining laser?

Next juicy bit, if one was per say to have the model information and needed files for a ship is it possible to submit to add in the future?

Anyone needing a Smart@$$ pilot for their faction, first cum'e, first serve...... Angel
Do you like racing?
Or smuggling?

or things that go vrroom vroom?

Joins!

Also yes you can make models and the mining laser is for mining ores. The more that hit the rock the better

For modeling: you can make perhaps a needed model of a ugly ship better or submit a super role okay request and get something unique perhaps.

A guide on how mining works, it explains mining lasers in there. Basically, if you have the correct ID, IFF, Ship - then you'll receive the mining bonuses

Also model submissions can be suggested/submitted to the dev section

http://discoverygc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=33 - for submitting models

Best faction to probably start out with is IMG, Junkers or even ALG - as they're trading factions and have active people in them that can help
When mining you should try to make sure that the ship you are mining with has the mining lasers equally distant from each other.

You also need to have an appropriate ID that can actually mine.

If you're looking for a good starting faction, i'd recommend DHC- or A/).

Welcome to disco , Regarding mining lasers , I believe that the most bouns you can get is by hitting a rock with 4 mining arrays at a time.
Anyways you can find almost if not everything here . http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=132063

I think you can model ships ,but i know nothing else about it .

Hope you enjoy your time. See you in space
Sweet thanks for the help.

I enjoy the racing to smuggle before that big 5'o can catch me.

That should help for starters, have to contemplate about the RP, trying to get peeps to join in on the game. Oh, and you lost the game....that goes for all who read without knowing.
If you're looking for a smuggling faction that encourages highly individual reputation crafting, has a hefty-sized play area and also does combat playstyles with a heavy RP emphasis (I am plugging myself here), The Unioners is a good choice. We actively try to help out new players wherever possible. The faction itself is also an interesting pseudo-serious satire of modern geopolitical developments, whilst tying neatly into the Vanilla Rheinland story arc of the 80 years war.

Oh, and we're Shaun Ashcroft style artifact smugglers. Not like those accursed Cardamine-marauding Outcasts! *shakes fist*
nuuuuuu I lost the gaaaameee!!!

You know... Not every faction has the best prices for smuggling goods.
*cough* I do *cough*

Since it is my summer break, I am willing to teach new players in my faction skills including how to smuggle well.
Well I am not against joining the group, my concerns are more with transportation of goods and the ability to destroy the Bret/Nomad forces just because I can.

I enjoy the Rhino-Russians (Rheinland), Liberal-Americans (Liberty), and Passive-Agressive Samurai's (Kusari) parts of the map and the ship designs. I don't fully support being lawful, more Chaotic Good stance......so yeah....

*cough* Death *cough* to all! *cough*
Rhino-Russians?
