Pecos is a larger moon composed of rock and ice caught in a 37 year cycle of freezing and thawing as its orbit around Salina brings it closer and then further away from the sun.

The Independent Miners Guild (IMG) established a small mining colony in 802 A.S. not long before Barrier Gate was finished. Pecos possesses a breathable but dangerously thin atmosphere which must generally be heated to prevent rapid heat loss. Deep within the icy crust the IMG found large deposits of frozen heavy water which the miners are extracting and refining into Deuterium, a critical component of H-Fuel and other fusion reactor fuels.

IMG Guildmaster allowed graciously for Crayterian refugees to settle on the planet and to use it as a forward base to colonize Yuma. Small civilian settlements spawned around Pecos , most of them at the surface and afterwards using the natural caves around to create small cave-cities that operated independently.

During the new policy of the Republic and the start of Yuma colonization, most of the small settlements were relocated one by one to Yuma, on the new floating cities that now are covering the planet surface, cutting the costs of constructions as the materials were re-used.

Presently on Pecos are only 3 underground settlements and the spaceport , preserving the main production lines for Crayterian ship, weapons and military vehicles production and is named the Tellus Crayterian Region.

New Hope Spaceport City

The New Hope is the distribution point of planet Pecos , having the main function as a showroom and depot stage for the underground settlements, taking it’s name from the wish and desire of the Crayterian people of finding their own home.

The main Crayterian corporations are having representatives on New Hope and liaison offices , managing the requests and supply orders needed from and to other Republican Bases.

Having a population of 4.777 people , the spaceport is like a home away from home for non-crayterian citizens and residents, having hotels and restaurants, small leisure area needing to be supplied with consumer goods from Yuma Planet.

On New Hope there is stationed a small detachment of AIT troops and a small Police squad to police and protect all the users of the hub.

The entry point to the underground colonies is near the New Hope , however is heavily defended, reflecting the military thinking of the Republic.

The entrance , referred to as Styx Entrance, is guarded by double twin tower platforms capable to repel any incursion inside the cities. The towers have their own stations of AIT, having Plasma cannons on top on each tower able to destroy any armored vehicle that may try to enter and AA gun placement and missiles to deflect an aerial attack.

The energy consumption is enormous during siege times , as the Entrance is also having a multi-layered shield protection, but the Crayterian engineers resolved that by tapping into the magma chamber of a nearby volcano.

Pilos Underground Complex

The Pilos was first constructed to make use of the geo-thermal energy present and to present a source of power for the fledgling Republic but in time the cave-city turned to become a production and manufacturing hub.

The Complex is the Headquarters of CMI and also Felix Manufacturing and Technologies , providing housing for the workers and a steady flow of goods towards the Republic, having also storage deposits for already build fighters.

In this cave-complex parts of the Fighter class are produced , along with heavy parts for the constructions of the Capital ships , which are sent to Sabah for assembly.

To ease the transportation of parts and goods , as well as assembled Nyx , Pytho and Eros ships to New Hope, a conveyor line was added that reaches one of the pads, thus ensuring that the goods needed also for the colonies are distributed effectively.

The underground colony is slowly trying to expand into building weapons and ammunition here on Pecos, but the funds for that development are still low.

Baresa Underground Complex

The Baresa Complex was united with the Pilos Complex through a series a natural caves that were enlarged to create an industrial road between them.

The complex is used by ISE as a Pecos headquarters and by the CMI to assist in the smelting of raw minerals and processing them.

The factories present on this complex are specialized in creating Military Vehicles, light and heavy weapons , ammunition and components for the Capital ships.

Parts of this complex is designed to accommodate civilians having in the center the main reactor that fuel the entire Crayterian operation on Baresa.

The CDI decided to also fund and support the construction of a section to design new weapons, creating thus a local research and development branch on Pecos , having a place where to test new innovations in a secure environment.

The Complex is half underground and half on the surface. The base also acts as a main deposit for materials and Company ships.

In order to accommodate part of the working force that was employed , Hephaestus constructed a small civilian enclave underground, called Iron Cave , accommodating also the families of the off world workers and providing a cheap accommodation for newly employed workers and having huge deposits where construction needed material are stored.
