Subject: Gerd Hadenschwalner
Rank: Arbeiter
Age: 48
Gender: Male

It was cold the day Gerd boarded his ship. The holder of the ship was the employee of an independent provider of Daumann for logistics services. No criminal record, not part of any watchlist - a blank sleight. Sometimes Gerd envied people like that. The biggest issue clouding their mind was the delivery deadline of their cargo, or if dinner would be ready once they get home.

These envious periods pass though. Everything was set now and Gerd needed to be on his way. This operation failing was impossible. He went through every step meticulously. He now passed one more police patrol on his way exiting the atmosphere. As expected nobody noticed that something was off.

His flat back on the surface had his lights turn on and off during the morning and evening at random intervals. His entertainment system turns on during the evening at the time he used to return home from work. Every third day there is a 50% chance for it to stay switched off. His shower turns on for 7 minutes every morning at 6:05 am. Tomorrow morning at 7:29 am his comm will call the office and play a recording of him explaining that he had the flue. He would be sick until next week. He recorded multiple voice samples that will answer variations questions his bosses secretary could ask about his illness and when Gerd would approximately come back in. She was a predictable woman. Knowing her well enough Gerd knew that she would ask from 5 to 6 questions. Gerd recorded 1 greeting, 6 answers, another 6 variations of these answers in case she didn't understand the recording, 1 goodbye and 4 lines of generic smalltalk. All of this will buy him approximately 4 days time. 7 if he was lucky.

Gerd leaving was a strange feeling to him. He broke the routine he was bound to for the past 23 years, the same routine that gave him security - security in repetition. But there was something else, a sense of freedom.

But what lay ahead of him was unclear. Right now the only thing fueling his actions was his iron will to serve his Vaterland, no matter the cost. He tried doing that on the "right" side of the law - he really did - but people kept getting in his way. People that held their position for their personal benefit, instead of what their profession is meant for. Gerd needed allies. Allies who have the passion that also fuels him and are willing to act for their cause regardless of the outcome. The people that fit this description best were the Unioners.

He encountered them in his work. Saw a few of them while they were being interrogated. From the reports he read he knew about their iron will and their beliefs. Gerd knew what they did and why the big names in Rheinland politics were afraid of them, but against his better judgement he found himself sympathizing with them on more than one occasion. Just contacting them was a gamble, but he preferred that over option B.
