We need trade routes and custom commodities. It’s going to use two event only commodities (Sabotaged Life Support Units and Triage Supplies).
- Credit payouts for kills, Ala Omega nomad event style, for two sides:
Lawful side:
RFP, RM, MND, RS and their official counterparts.
Unlawful side:
UN, LWB, Pirate Indie. (Hessians and Bundschuh are preferably not included as they’re at war with Unioners).
Kills are not tracked - event ends when all commods are traded.
- Two event commodities to supply to, and from, Alster in a round trip. Needs Sirian and Gallic sell/buypoint so all lawful traders can participate.
- Forum tracker for supplies shipped (event ends when bar reaches full).

Any major in-space catastrophe involves several layers of clean-up. In the case of a chemical attack, major life support components have to be replaced, specialist medical equipment provided for the injured or maimed, Hazardous materials gear provided for first responders and for those who tend the grim cleanup that comes after. Generations of stellar accidents and accident prevention have honed the trade down to a fine art, however, the materials required remain expensive, highly specialist, and difficult to source. Dedicated shipping outposts frequently sell Triage Supplies as a unified package, and are brought indirectly according to need, rather than sourced directly from the manufacturer.
Sabotaged Life Support Units:
Closed-circuit life support remains one of the innovations that permit modern spacecraft - from the smallest of shuttlecraft to the largest of space stations and planetary colonies - to operate under a sustainable resource intake. Like the space stations into which they are built, modern life support units are bulky, modular, simple to transport and incredibly difficult to manufacture due to their extremely high reliability requirements.
After the Chemical attack on Alster shipyard rendered all of the station’s previous units a toxicity hazard, a large number of pre-owned units have flooded the market as the station’s life support has been steadily replaced. However, due to the generally low residue levels of hydrogen cyanide, there remain a market for cheaper, still-serviceable units available to those less discerning about the value of the life they are preserving, whilst the units themselves are enormously valuable to the Sirian salvage trade. The Gallic Metals Service, keen to gain examples of Rheinlandic life support units, has also expressed interest.

I’ve already described what we’re doing here, so I decided instead to give the general lore that can appear in the event post:
A recent well-publicised chemical attack on Alster Shipyard has left over three hundred Republican Shipping employees and federal rescue workers dead, in one of the most violent paramilitary actions of recent months. Whilst the attack was only marginally successful - Unioner vessels sent in to complicate the cleanup were intercepted in a phyrric battle with the joint military and military intelligence detachment sent to relieve the station, the militant Alster Union has claimed credit for the attack, keen to reassert itself in the public eye after a perceived loss of ground to its Red Hessian rivals following the battle of Dresden. The Unioners have gained significant notoriety from the raid, and appear to be revelling in the unusually brutal act of terror, claiming divine revenge against Republican Shipping, and, by extension, the government, for outlaw of Alster’s shipping unions many centuries past.
Whilst Republican shipping claims that the attack will not harm Alster’s output of fresh transports and utility vessels, the station is currently the site of an extensive cleanup operation. Republican Shipping has placed lucrative contracts to replace critical elements of the station’s life support systems. Indeed, there are some who believe that the insurance bailout has more than reimbursed Republican for any loss of revenue the attack incurred. With the Federal Government keen to keep its publicly owned shipping cooperation competitive, the Hamburg system has become a veritable centre of trade of vessels shipping in emergency supplies, and shipping out the contaminated remains of Alster’s life support units.
An unintended outcome of the newly bustling Hamburg tradelanes has been a proportional rise of pirate activity in the system; Unioner and independent pirate vessels taking advantage of Republican’s needfulness to make a cheap buck at the expense of the contracted shipping. The LWB, no fans of foreign trade themselves, have also pushed into the system, working alongside their Unioner and independent pirate allies to milk the trade-lane traffic. The federal forces of Rheinland, keen to re-assert themselves after the loss of Dresden, also stand to profit from the attack, viewing the Alster attack as a golden opportunity to reassert the public as to the solidity of Rheinland’s security situation, clamping down violently on unlawful operations throughout the Hamburg system in an attempt to win back hearts and minds.
Hamburg is becoming increasingly violent.

Following a Unioner terror attack on Alster shipyard with internally placed chemical weapons, Alster shipyard requires its life support systems replaced.
The event is part event commodity trade event, and part lawful-v-unlawful shoot-em-up for credits event.
The intention is to make Rheinland more active generally, give Rheinland Federal Police something to do, and encourage people to make a Republican shipping faction, whilst riffing off in-game RP and pews that have already occurred, adding a sense of consequence for the OFLs involved, whilst giving LWB and indie pirates something to do.
It fills a comfortable middle ground between expanding RP, making people credits, and ensuring people encounter and pew each other.
