Operation "Ouroboros"
6th August 2017, 18:00 UTC

Prize of 100Mill to the winning team in each Part

[Image: SY01fOG.png] Background:

The Gallic Royal Navy and Foreign Legion HC have put an operation together to assist our further advance into Sirius and slowly complete the encirclement of the crumbling House of Bretonia.

We believe as we drive a wedge further between Liberty and Bretonia our push north into the Cortez system will make it difficult for the enemy to maintain supply lines from Liberty. As Bretonia is cutoff their surrender can only be a matter of time.

However, not much is known about the systems north of Magellan.

Preliminary data recovered from the wreckage of Freeport 4 indicates there are at least 3 systems within a jump or two of the Magellan system, namely Cortez, Coronado and Inverness.

Not much is known about the entities that operate within these systems other than that Cortez is a transit system between Bretonia and Liberty, Coronado has a large colonial presence and Inverness is yet to be explored fully.

I think it would be unwise for our forces to push further into the North and Cortez until we know what military infrastructure lies within these systems.

Operation Ouruboros is a reconnaissance mission the Legion would like to perform with the help of other gallic players to map these systems and record / report all activity we detect therein.

[Image: SY01fOG.png] Event Structure:

The event will be split into two parts

Part 1: Will be the main recon mission outlined above.

Part 2: In order for part 1 to be a success, there will be a diversionary attack staged in New London. Consisting of a GRN Battlegroup that will assault Southampton Shipyard.
This attack will divert the main allied forces away from Cortez and Coronado and allow the recon team to carry out their mission and return safely!

[Image: SY01fOG.png] Event Rules:

No Special tech allowed in either events, except the [RN] Recon Ship which will have a cloak installed.

Part 1:

Only those registered may take part.

Aim for the GRN is to destroy the allies at Planet Yuma and escape with recon data collected.

Allies must destroy the Gallic Recon Mission Escort and then destroy the Recon Ship and collect the data to win the event.

Part 2:

Only those registered may take part.

No Ganking, sides have been balanced!

This fight is purely a diversion on the part of the GRN, to ensure no reinforcements arrive to assist the allies in Coronado.

Standard pew rules apply, last side standing wins the day.

p.s. The Symbolism of the Ouroboros Snake being used as a theme for this mission, is to do with the snake eating its own tail. The snake is supposed to represent Gallia encircling the House of Bretonia!

Question is will we bite off more than we can chew?

Why would GRN even know about Inverness? It's not exactly widely known.

That is the same as Coronado though, so read what is says. It is a Operation for Recon and to learn about these systems.

We know about Coronado thanks to cooperation Gaians. Not sure about Inverness, I guess we need Teerin or someone else.
To recon it, they would need to know about it in the first place. Coronado is a bit more popular though, yet it still begs the question of why they're going out of their way to supposedly 'instantly discover' something that they never knew in the first place.

We know about these systems especially cortez and coronado but we are just not sure of what or who lurks within them.

Info collected from the liberty navy computers on freeport 4 would provide some detail. But its sketchy.

There could be one battleship in coronado or a whole fleet. Makes sense to do recon sweep before barrel-rolling in there like a bull in a china shop!

Inverness is a bit more tricky as its a completely unknown system. Thus this mission will not involve us entering inverness we will merely map the jumphole location in cortez and then head to coronado.

It is not known by us that the Battlegroup Auxesia frequent the inverness system. So any operation involving us going in to inverness will be a seperate event.

But nyx we will come knocking so be ready for that.

Like, there is planty of rumors about some system, base or planet that Rheinland, Kusari, independant trader or some deserter from oposite side may sell to Galic forces, next logical step any military organization will take after hearing rumors about something is exactly detail reconosense Smile

Yes well, the system is barely known due to it lacking redeeming qualities there, beyond the Junker station. I severely doubt Rheinlanders or Kusarians go there, and I wish I could have a mysterious Freelancer tip me off with information with everything ever - especially without backed up evidence of interaction.

But whatever.
