How Do I get FL Vanilla to run in the DFL Launcher? Or Run Period on Win 8.1 Pro?

Hey.

To get Vanilla FL to run you need to do three things:

  1. Delete the My Games/Freelancer folder, this is full of disco files that'll make vanilla crash
  2. Make sure you have a NoCD crack installed since the DRM no longer works on modern windows
  3. Launch Freelancer.exe, not the disco launcher

Better just move to another folder for the time being, or you might end up deleting your disco accounts

Just install a NoCD exe into your freelancer. You download the file (not going to link here for copyright reasons) and copy it into your freelancer EXE folder. The rest of it is just technical details you don't need to worry about P
