Hi. Anyone know whether I need a cloak mk II, Mk II advanced or a transport cloak?

Well, the Salvager being a transport, I would assume you need a transport cloak for it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you mean freighter? I think most big ships are classified as Freighter by the game. As flying anything bigger than an actual Freighter wasn't part of the original game, so I don't think there's an actual playable ship class they can fit ships like the Salvager into, in terms of game mechanics.
You'll need a Mk3... As it has a large cargo space
Cloaks types ships can use are sorted by cargo size, mk2 can be mounted by 200-800 cargo ships , light are under 200, mk2adv is up to 2000 and mk3 for all above that.
